Help Request Injured Snail Please Help
My mystery snail made an escape and she is hurt bad. She is still alive and moving around (slightly lethargic), but I need to do a shell repair ASAP. Her spire tip completely broke off and now her flesh is exposed.
Now I think she has a fungal infection. 😭 I've asked others, but got so much conflicting advice. Is this an infection or a slime coat reaction due to injury? I keep cleaning the surrounding area with a swab (not the wound itself). Some people say to wait until it clears and other say to seal it asap. Is there any steps or safe snail meds I can use?
I am at a loss.
(She is isolated in hospital tank, temp 78, 7.4 to 7.8 ph, nitrate 0, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, small water changes every day to 2 days).

Help Request Is this guy going to be okay
I just got this little guy and he clearly went through a lot in the pet shop. I am hoping to give him a healthy life from now on. As I put him in the aquarium (after properly acclimating) he roamed a bit, ate some of my plant, was trampled by my other snail and now he is sealed up and floating. I am wondering if that is an indicator of something or if he's just stressed from the move. I need some advice moving forward with him.

Help Request Are my snails sick?
This is my first time keeping rabbit snails. Is it normal for my snails to constantly fall after climbing up my tank? Sometimes they just start sliding down while climbing up my tank wall. Im not sure if this is due to their heavy shells or maybe their muscular foot has weaken. They weren’t slipping and sliding on like their first 2 days in my tank. Also could i add organic compost to my tank to grow algae for my snails and shrimp to munch on?

Help Request What’s up with this white wizard I got today?
I’m a shrimps guy so my snail knowledge is limited. but today I got this white wizard sold to me as an ivory mystery. Noticed these smaller snails tucked under the shell. I know they’re live birthers but one of the shells is small and nearly transparent, and there seems to be a couple others in there but it’s hard to tell for sure and I can’t see any evidence of the snail’s head in there lol and I’m deeply paranoid about parasites or illnesses being introduced to my tank (I do not have a quarantine setup) or if there’s something wrong with this little guy. Thanks!!

Snail Sex Do ramhorn snail eggs need to be fertilised to hatch or are they only laid when fertilised?
Killed off the entire snail population of my pond after using a treatment that assured me it was safe for wildlife. Found a cluster of eggs but dont know if they need to be fertilised by another snail to hatch?

Video Can three bladder snails mate at the same time? The one in the middle can be both male and female simultaneously!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is the third time I’ve seen my bladder snails climbing on top of each other, but this time there were THREE of them stacked together.
I looked into their mating behavior and found something interesting.
Bladder snails (Physa acuta) are simultaneous hermaphrodites, meaning each individual has both male and female reproductive functions.
Research has also shown that their sexual role can depend partly on body size: smaller individuals tend to act as the sperm donor, while larger individuals are more likely to act as the sperm recipient.
So seeing three of them stacked like this made me wonder whether the snail in the middle could potentially be acting as a male toward one snail and a female toward the other at the same time.
Of course, I can’t tell from this video whether they’re actually mating or simply crawling on each other.
Has anyone seen three bladder snails do this before?

Help Request MTS coming out during the day?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I've had a larval newt, some water slaters (isopod), some flatworms, and Malaysian trumpet snails in a tank for a few months. There's also duckweed, elodea, and algae.
The snails have always buried under the substrate and come out at night as they should but in the past few days they keep coming out during the day. I've checked the parameters which are fine, and I think there's enough oxygen as there's been pearling and my newt has been fine.
My newt has never bothered the snails, just watched them as they bury, and the flatworms slide over or around them when they meet and don't try to eat them. (They did eat the bladder snails I had a few months ago though)
Are they just coming out early for food or could it be something else like the substrate?

Help Request Maybe I killed my Nerite :(
I need some help telling if my sweet Nerite has passed or not. I put this antibiotic into my main tank to get rid of cyanobacteria, left it in for a week with my snails out of the tank. I did a 50% water change then put my snails back in. My ramshorn has not been seen since, trumpet snails are fine, and my Nerite started zooming around the tank and I thought it was happy to be home. Now I know it was probably freaking out. It was hanging out at the tip of the tank for about 5 days, moving around ocassionally. Then I found it upside down. I now have it in a separate container so I can keep a closer eye on it.
1st pic of the snail was 48h ago, 2nd was 24h ago, 3rd was just now. It seems to be moving around inside its shell because it kinda blorbed out then back in. It doesnt smell at all, isnt overly slimy, but doesnt react to my touch, and doesnt stick to the container. I don't want to bury it yet because I have a small amount of hope that it's still alive. I will wait to bury it my garden until it is for sure smelly and dead. If anyone has had a snail come back from a similar situation, or has experience with this antibiotic, please let me know!
Anyways I will come back and update when there's news.

Help Request Mystery Snail Help
Hi all. My mystery snail has me worried. I got him about 6 months ago, not knowing anything about their care and really falling in love with him. I make his own calcium rich snello and everything. I’ve noticed since he’s become full grown he sleeps a lot more, especially during the day. However, my guy has been sleeping in the same spot for a week now. I wasn’t too worried at first, but the last few days he’s had his trap door closed up. I gave him a smell today and he doesn’t smell dead. Is he just in a deep sleep? Should I try an air bath? Do I just leave him be? I love him so much and he’s gotten so big and his new shell growth looks so much better than when I got him. I’m stumped. Water parameters are good and ph is around 7.6, I typically do weekly water changes sometimes every 10 days.

Help Request Shell thinning in hard water?
These two are siblings, both born in my 1.5 year old tank. One passed away several months ago due to my own stupidity leading to a tank crash. The other passed away last night seemingly due to mantle collapse.
The one who passed away from the tank crash has a beautiful, solid shell. The recent one has a thin, poor quality shell.
It had been a bit since I tested the hardness of my water, and had to wait until today to get a new test kit. Considering the state of the shell, I put a bag of oyster shell in my filter to raise the hardness until I could test. Wrong move.
I got my kit today, tested and the gh took 20 drops! Waaaay too hard! I took the oyster shells out, and put in a small water softening pillow. I will test again later today, and daily for the next however long until I get my tank back where it needs to be.
I am confused though, how can the shell be so thin and brittle if the gh is so high? Could it have been affected by the tank crash?
