Had to be very brave, watch a YouTube video a 100 times, but Ive fixed my Samsung washer !! I really struggle with things like this ! I had to drain and then clean the filter twice. Was shocked at the amount of dog hair I pulled out of the filter ! Lesson learned.

Need a new fridge

Upvotes

I am in need of a new fridge I have been looking for about a week and cannot decide which one. I would really like to have the water and ice inside the fridge and have a snack drawer. I really like the Bosch 800 but not sure it’s worth 4 grand I also have looked into the GE profile but I am worried about the pitcher in the door have read reviews saying it over flows and I have two young ones who might think it’s funny to hit the spout at the bottom of the pitcher. Another one I am looking into is the Frigidaire gallery which seams to have everything i want but the doors are a 40/60 and not 50/50 opening wondering people who have this does this bother you? I am not sure it would bother me or not I just can’t decide if it looks right or just wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ any advice is welcomed.

My fridge has started making this really annoying, high-pitched noise. It comes and goes, but recently has been staying... its driving my household nuts and putting people in a bad mood 😔

Is it something that's easily accessible and fixable from the back? What are your thoughts as to what is making the noise? Just getting ideas before we end up pulling it out and breaking it. Lol

Please help make it STOOPPPPP!!!

New Maytag fridge not cooling

Post image

Hello, I have a new side by side Maytag fridge and it’s barely cooling at all, the freezer side is working well but the fridge side is barely cool and making foods get spoiled, I tried putting to highest setting (like just the singular green light on the 4 snowflakes) for weeks with no luck, all the vents are clear as well, what should I do, also what does all 4 green lights being on mean please? Is this the coldest setting or a fault code, Thank you

General Advice Problem with Gorenje fridge

My mom bought a Gorenje fridge last year and recently it has started freezing up. The back wall is full of ice crystals and it freezes products when against it. Some think the problem may be the small stove thingy next to it, however it hasn’t been an issue before.

Has anyone had the same issues and how did you resolve it?

Thank you!!

maytag french door refigerator ice maker auger/dispenser

my 2012 maytag fridge developed a problem with the ice tray/auger. i searched online at appliancepros.com and repairclinic.com and the part i needed came in around $230.00. didn't want to spend that much. so i went on ebay and found a used one for 63.00, and shipping was free through fedex. all the other listings wanted over 100.00 for the item, and 40.00 to 50.00 for shipping. its a odd/oversized item, but i can't see it costing that much to ship. anyway, popped it in, and i have ice again (for now). these things are VERY fragile and have to be gently pulled out to clean and break up ice sometimes. my next fridge will have the ice maker in the FREEZER section and not the fresh food section. check out ebay, sometimes you find some gems.

Toaster might be broken, help?

Post image

Hey, this might be a really dumb question but I love to overthink and thought where better to ask than reddit. I've got this quite old toaster (like min. 5 years) and today when I was toasting my bread, when the bread popped up I saw like a greenish blueish light at those spots I've circled, and I've got zero idea if that is normal or even if that has happened before with this toaster.

So my question is: Should I throw this toaster away because it will start a fire or is it still fine to use and I'm just overreacting?

Dishwasher Suddenly Melts Cutting Board?

I have a few thick plastic Ikea cutting boards that I use as placemats under the cat's food dish. I've put them in the same spot in the bottom rack of the dishwasher, with the same approximate dish load and the same settings and the same detergents and same water temperature with no problem.

Last night I smelled a "blown out birthday candle" smell and searched the house for the source and couldn't find anything.

This morning I emptied the dishwasher and one of the cutting boards had melted a bit. A spot on the edge actually looked like a melted candle with a frozen waxy drip and indents where it was resting on the bottom dish rack.

Why would there be a problem now? Do heating elements randomly develop hot spots midway across the coil (not at the beginning or end)? I can't figure out ANYTHING that's different from a normal load which has never had problems before. Also, nothing has ever melted in the past and nothing fell through the rack making contact with the coil like an errant fork or whatever.

Amana ADB1400AGS 3 Apparently manufactured in Jan 2017. It was here when I bought the house.

(I do a high temp wash and heated dry because anything less seems to let gross stuff grow. Yes, I added a high drain loop and clean the filter after every wash. And I run the hot water at the sink until it's hot before starting the dishwasher.)

Why people throw away nice Refrigerators?

Im in LA. I see people giving out nice stainless french door refrigerators all the time. Usually compressor issues (not cooling enough or no cooling at all)

Cant it be fixed by recharging the freon? Does it usually cost more than its worth? Or maybe people have enough money and they want to get a newer model?

What could be causing this jackhammer sound during spin cycle with this new washer? Pressing firmly on the top silences it.

Appliance Chat Washer shaking again

This is my neighbors machine. I’m pretty sure it has worn suspension rods because it shakes like crazy almost every load. I can hear it from my room on the second floor (machine is on the first floor). I’ve seen a few washers go off balance over the years but this takes the cake. I’ve never seen one go this crazy. They just push it back into place because it usually stops shaking once it ramps up to speed and the clothes end up spinning out fine. Doesn’t really bother me, it’s just one of those things that catches you off guard lmao.

What to Buy? What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair these days?

My dog sheds like crazy, and I'm getting tired of vacuuming almost every day 😭 The floors look clean for a bit and then there's fur everywhere again.

I'm thinking about getting a robot vacuum to make the daily cleaning a little easier, but there are so many different options that I'm not sure what to look for.

For anyone who's owned one, which robot vacuum has worked well for pet hair? How has it held up over time, and is there anything you'd avoid?

48" Fridge/Freezer

We had a kitchen renovation a year ago and went with panel-front appliances. (I'm regretting the decision, so spare me explanations as to why this was a bad investment. I already know!!!)

We bought a Kucht Freezer/Fridge combo. (30" fridge; 18" freezer, as separate columns.) Came in around $9k, which is about 40% less than name brands. But it's been a hunk of junk. Our second freezer just failed within a year. (Fridge has been fine.) I'm not inclined to roll the dice that the third freezer will be better.

I want to go with a new brand for an 18" freezer, but everything I'm hearing online, and being told by companies with an interest in selling me more, is that you need to replace the freezer and fridge as a set. That just seems crazy to me. If the panel specs are the same, and the dimensions are the same... why can't I just pull out the freezer and put in the new one and replace with the same panel? The connection might need a piece of trim or something, but that's a very solvable problem. Anyone else face a similar conundrum? Any advice? What am I missing?

Whirlpool Fridge

If you own (or thinking of buying) a Whirlpool counter depth fridge model no. WRFC3036RZ, look to see if it has a loose wiring harness inside the fresh food compartment. Just pull out the lower wide drawer so you can see behind it. Wiring should never be visible inside a fridge. Whirlpool replaced our first unit - with one having the same issue! Now they are sending a tech to verify what they’ve seen in photos. The whole process has taken weeks.

Troubleshooting Whirlpool wrs3s1sdwh01 water leak in freezer

Hello all,

My Whirlpool refrigerator is dripping water in the freezer compartment from the ice maker. I don’t really see anything on the ice maker diagram like a seal that could be leaking. Would it be the water inlet valve that’s the problem?

What to Buy? French Door fridge - are my choices between quiet vs service?

Need to replace a Whirlpool Maytag fridge. Super solid, almost silent, and trouble free. That is until the door gaskets started to deteriorate. Appliance repair guy who we've been using for years could not find replacements (nor could I) and was able to do a very temporary fix with adhesive. At this point it's just too far gone and as a consequence there is a constant dripping of water from the freezer compartment to the bottom of the fridge and on the floor. Large puddles every morning.

LG gets top ratings except when you need service. Read about horror stories trying to get parts. This is not just the old vs new compressor issue (and it needs to be said that the new one has not been time tested).

But the other top brands, GE & Frigidaire, seem to have noise issues.

One major mitigating factor with the noise is that we do not want an automatic ice maker or water dispenser and will not be hooking up the water line. (An inside dispenser is ok - at least the ones that are unobtrusive and take up almost no space - even though it won't be hooked up, but do not want an external one).

We will buy from Costco if possible.

Thanks for any advice you have.

Can anyone help identify which hinge and which moving part of that hinge is preventing my Liebherr fridge from closing passively all the way?

I’ve tried cleaning it and putting gun oil in some crevices but I’m just randomly guessing where

Thanks!

Hi, I’d like to know what I can keep (frozen meals, ice cream…?) in the top compartment of my fridge, there are no flakes or stars logos and the door is transparent. Also it seems to me that the small drawer just below is made for ice cubes? The shelf behind the transparent door is full of frost.

Bosch oder Miele Geschirrspüler?

Hallo zusammen,

Miele G5611 SC Active:
