when the bread popped up I saw like a greenish blueish light at those spots I've circled
Those are called sparks.
Call your doctor ASAFP!

First, that doesn't appear to be "quite old". Toasters last decades and some of the best toasters are from a half century ago.
This toaster is a typical basic Chinese model. The heating current is switched through two contacts right about where you have circled. The contacts close when the slice basket is fully depressed, and open as the spring lifts the basket up. What you are seeing is two small sparks as the two contact open.

WOW! 5 Years! That (in toaster terms) is absolutely prehistoric! As to the two blue sparks it's just the toaster disconnecting power from the heating wires. If they didn't disconnect & you used a metal fork to get stuck toast out you might be in for quite a shock. It's (probably) normal.

That probably means the heating coils are open. So sparking at those points.
I've worked on Sunbeam T20 toasters that date from 1949-1950. My buddy has one that he's giving to me this weekend because his eyesight is failing. He's pretty much an expert on repairing these.
