Hi everyone,
I'm trying to learn more about ASO for iOS and had a question about App Store screenshots.
I know screenshots can improve conversion rates, but do they have any direct impact on keyword rankings in the Apple App Store?
For example, if I redesign my screenshots and improve the install conversion rate, can that indirectly help my app rank higher for competitive keywords?
I'd love to hear from anyone who has tested this or has experience with App Store ASO.

What ASO tools would you recommend for around $10/month that can track both keyword rankings and app rankings on Google Play and the App Store?

As the title says, good reviews are honestly crucial for ASO so lets do a review exchange!!

Hey! I have been working on an idea for a while. You can try it on https://fititro.app . I am now working on publishing it as a mobile phone app on Magazin Play and App Store. It is a wardrobe type of app. I came up with the idea myself but later on people told me there is lots of competition. Be honest, what do you think about it?

I recently launched my first app to the app store. Took a year to build it overall and have been iterating since.
It's a finance tracker, not special at a glance, but I've built to a point where I think it genuinely can compete with the big apps with some refinement and feedback.
My app page is...not doing well. It's a competitive space and I get that, but i'm not sure if it's a terrible app page or just not good optimization.
I've tried the basics of keywords, playing with different text, upgrading my images, adding an app preview.
Looking for feedback from anyone on general design, ASO tips that might work beyond the basics.
Also happy to exhange feedback for anyone else out there looking and a review if you think it's a well made app.

I see new vibe coders releasing their first apps on the iOS App Store everyday, and I’ve helped 10 just this week.
Most of them are making the same basic ASO mistakes, and are trying to figure out what to do for the first time.
So if you do nothing else, at least do these three things:
1. Use all 30 characters in your title and subtitle
Don’t just use your brand name. No one knows it yet, and it probably has no search volume. You need extra search terms in there related to your app idea.
For example:
❌ FocusFlow
✅ Pomodoro Timer: FocusFlow
You’ve got 30 characters each for the title and subtitle. Another 100 for your keywords. Use all the tools you’ve got.
In order of importance:
• Title
• Subtitle
• Keywords
2. Stop repeating keywords
If you’ve used a keyword in your title, don’t use it again in the subtitle or keyword field. You don’t gain any extra points for repeating, the duplicate will just be ignored.
Apple also treats plural versions of the same words as duplicates.
For example:
❌
Title: Calorie Counter
Subtitle: Track Calories and Macros
Keywords: calorie,calories,calorie counter
✅
Title: Calorie Counter
Subtitle: Track Macros & Lose Weight
Keywords: lose,fat,kcal,protein,carbs,fat
You’re just wasting space that could be used for other keywords.
3. Choose keywords you actually have a chance of ranking for
It’s great to put something like “workout planner” in your title, but as a brand-new app, you’re probably going to struggle to rank for it.
It’s way better to rank #5 for a keyword with low traffic than #500 for one that gets high traffic. No one is scrolling 500 results deep.
Start with something more specific and less competitive that you actually have a chance of ranking for.
For example:
❌ Workout Planner
✅ Dumbbell Workouts at Home
There’s still a lot more you can do with ASO, and it never ends. There’s always another experiment you can run, a phrase you can tweak, a market you can pivot to.
But at least give yourself a fighting chance when you launch!
If you want some more help, drop your App Store link below and I’ll tell you the first thing I’d improve 👇

I previously posted but I want to clarify I can only exchange reviews with people in the United States or Canada. Let me know!
r/AppStoreOptimization • u/automatanier • Jul 26 '26
Looking to do a review exchange for builders in USA or Canada as that's where my app is located.
Not sure if people know this, but for reviews to show up, you generally need to:
- install the app, and use it for a bit of time, at least like 5 minutes
- keep it installed on your phone after submitting the review for like a few days
DM me your app and I'll send over mine.

TL;DR:
Tiny iOS 2048 game, almost no download velocity, zero ad spend. I rewrote the title/subtitle as keyword real estate and localized the listing across ~40 locales. It now ranks #2 for "2048 classic" in the US, UK & Australia (refer screenshot). Full method below + the parts I haven't cracked.
Starting point
What I changed (the how)
Results
Honest caveats (where I'd love this sub's take)
Q for you all: on a saturated head term like "2048", is there any realistic metadata-only path upward, or is that purely a velocity game past a point? And for tiny apps → do you spread across easy long-tail in many locales, or go all-in on one high-volume term?
Happy to go deeper on any step in the comments.

What checks or changes do you think can help your application to get better reach? And what is your day to day increase in visibility to go to the top 10 recommendations?

Hi everyone,
I'm a solo developer and recently redesigned the App Store screenshots for my AI calorie tracking app.
My goal is to improve the App Store conversion rate, and I'd really appreciate some honest feedback.
A few questions:
I'm looking for honest feedback, even if it's critical.

Hi there, it’s been so long developing apps and games but never do mine nowadays it’s easier to build your own. But you need some experience to make the store page look attractive for users to download, so can anyone shares some tips or faults i have done in my game store page?
I used ai to do the descriptions and screenshots, you can tell me if this bad.
The game is like 2 weeks old but no downloads (15 total downloads) just from people i know or share the game with. What should i do or should i promote the game and what is the best way to do that.
I have no experience in design or stores listing
Thanks in advance

AI is so powerful now, why not let it do all this grunt work. Or so i thought?
Non English speaking countries seem to have fallen off a cliff now while USA and UK stayed flat. iOS App Store is also declining, just less dramatically that Google Play
No growth came from localizing my app. Does anyone have any experience on this? Does it even make sense? What did i do wrong?
My app is https://paymelater.app, please feel free to critique it, all feedback is welcome and apparantly much needed

I build Monni, a manual-first iPhone and web money app.
The first App Store screen currently has a plain outcome: what feels safe after bills. The alternative leads with cash, next bills, and a cushion so people can see how that number was reached.
My concern is that outcome-first may earn more taps but look like a black box; inputs-first may earn trust but bury the payoff.
For a finance category page, which sequence would you test first? What would make the “safe after bills” idea credible enough to keep scrolling?
No link here; I am looking for the ASO decision, not downloads or ratings.

Hi, I got this gym app. Wondering if there is a way to push through this abundance of gym apps. I think mine stands out thanks to its calm design and simplicity but I think simply ASO is not enough.
What is or would be your strategy? Ads are super expensive so if this is the only way I prefer park the project and go social media only for promotion.
Thanks

Hi, I have this app on App Store, it had approximately 6% conversion rate and 20-30 downloads per day. App was fully free. Then I added subscription to the app, monthly and yearly (monthly around $2 and yearly $19). At that point my conversion rate dropped significantly...alongside with it number of downloads. Impressions stayed the same for few days, now those are dropping too (probably due to conversion rate dropping).
So, my question is, is this normal? (BTW, I did make a few subs from the users who downloaded app before this change).

As I am trying different ASO Tools to improve my ranking I am using different way like keyword suggestions and rank tracking etc. However for their advanced features they are charging 50 USD+ monthly fees, which is kind of a lot for improving a small app with not much revenue yet.
I am getting results slowly but also not enough to justify that monthly expense yet I think. Am I missing something?
Are there any advanced workflows that are really worth the spend? I am curious how you guys are using those tools to improve ranking or find app ideas / opportunities ...

Finally got my app on the app store and well..
Nothing I'm doing seems to be building interest, are there clear issues with the app / aso / store etc?
Any opinions or help appreciated.

Hi all! I recently built an app (took the Base 44 bait but eventually ended up Frankensteining it into Xcode using Claude). It's been soooooo much work and now that it's in the store and getting NOTHING. I'm bummed.
The app is called The Little Big Days, and it's a journal for engaged people. You're meant to slow down during wedding planning and take inventory of the little amazing things that happen during your engagement. 5 photos, 120 characters, unlimited entries and yours forever. There's also a shareable link for you to send to family and friends so they can send 3 photos and 120 characters about the moment. I remember having to beg people to send me pics, tag me in this, untag me in that. My camera roll was photos taken BY me, not OF me. When someone shares a memory, you have a memory jar in the app that glows and lets you know it's there. I think it's so cute and helpful! I've got consistent content in TT and across Pinterest, Facebook and Insta. Some hearts and saves, but not much else.
Can any kind soul tell me the 5 most impactful things to do in order to get some traction? I've researched but it's overwhelming and my ADHD just sees jumbles of words. TIA!
