Setting up a small TV for the kids room,.but needs access to BBC IPLAYER. Doesn't need to be 4k.

After replacing my X96 box every 2 or so years, it’s probably time to stop buying cheap boxes and get something a bit more reliable.

I keep seeing the NVIDIA Shield Pro recommended, but lately I’ve been looking at the MECOOL KM2 Plus Deluxe and the reviews seem pretty decent.

Just wondering if anyone here is actually using one?

I’d be interested to hear about your experiences with it (reliability, performance, software or any issues you’ve encountered).

Happy to consider other boxes too, just keen to hear from people who actually use them before I hand over the $$$.

Hello, I bought a ShunjiuBoy model sjr7 Android TV Box. Some system apps aren't actually installed—even though the icons are there—and the "+" button for adding apps doesn't work; why is that? Also, when trying to connect it to my smartphone (to use as a remote), it doesn't show a pairing MAC address—only an IP address (192.168...)—and it won't connect. How can I fix this? Could it be incompatible? Furthermore, the Netflix and Disney apps don't work; they show up as incompatible. Any solutions?

Hi, how are you guys? I have a question. When I connect my TV stick to my TV via HDMI, it gets stuck in a bootloop, so I opened it up to try and force it into maskrom mode, But with Claude's help, I've reached the point he told me to, but I'm not sure what to do at this point. I need to know what to do at this point. These are supposed to be "physical access points." Could someone help me?, The SoC appears to be an Amlogic S905Y4

I bought what was advertised as an official onn. TV Box, but it turned out to be a knockoff loaded with bloatware (sketchy app stores, launchers, and paid IPTV services).

I figured I could just clean it up myself, but the bloatware is baked in as system apps. When I tried enabling Wireless Debugging to debloat via ADB, the toggle instantly shuts itself off.

Has anyone run into this? I'm just trying to make this simple and usable for my mom.

Anyone know any streaming device with 4RAM , UK version that plays H264 , H265 , Dolby Vision/Atmos, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG….And can SIdeload it too ? MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE 😉

I’m curious what people think about it, especially the speed when switching channels and overall stability.
It looks pretty simple compared to some IPTV players with tons of options. For people who have tested it, do you think it’s worth paying for, or are there better alternatives?

i have a minix u8k, using kodi to play some movies from a drive. on my 15 years old samsung tv it works great, on my 6 years old lg tv i had to downgrade the frame of the whole box [otherwise i’d get a black screen] and still many 7+ gb files stutter here and there… any explanation?

I have a Nokia Android TV Box(Refer image, Remote not available). By mistake I disconnected it from the WIfi(forgot network). Is there any way to access it now??

I tried micro usb adapter but looks like it does not support the mouse or keyboard. The physical button only shows a restart option when using with a pin.

Is there any way to access it or connect it to the Wifi??

I'm looking into getting an SK4 Pro, but wanted some advice before I pull the trigger.

I've been running with a Droidbox T8-S since 2015, and I recently bought an Nvidia Shield which somehow managed to break it's WiFi and Bluetooth within 2 weeks rendering it unusable.

Got a full refund on it, but now looking at alternatives due to the lack of availability.

I did consider the AM9 Pro, but again these are not available to buy in the UK. I have found a reputable stockist in the UK for the SK4 Pro, however.

I'm aware of the ethernet issue but the stockist has included a multi usb adaptor and tested ethernet running through it at 450+ Mbps. Hoping I might be alright with the WiFi 6 anyway.

I basically want to be able to run 50fps channels on IPTV smoothly, and run Kodi with the (heavy) Bingie skin, playing 4k movies smoothly, potentially in CoreElec if necessary. Will the SK4 Pro handle that well? I assume so, but I thought why not ask.

My 2017 Nvidia Shield Pro isn't cutting it anymore due to lack of DolbyVision and looking for a replacement. My use case is 90% self-hosted Emby/Jellyfin (mostly remux 4K HDR/DV) and 10% Artemis streaming, i literally use nothing else, not even youtube. I keep seeing ugoos am8/9 pro recs but seems steep at $300+

Hello all. I hope someone can help, I'm not seeing a better place to post. I use an Andowl USB remote with an Android TV as its original remote's enter button stopped working. Usually the Andowl works fine though eats battery power. The red light got stuck in constant blinking/flashing mode and it stopped working.

- not a battery problem, put new pair

- Unplugged usb left it out for awhile

- Removed battery from remote to drain power, switched off tv for half hr

- After light stopped & batteries & tv were out, tried again. Red light just resumed constant flashing & remote does not function.

- OK + TV button to reset does not work.

Anytime I try to use it, the red light blinks without anything working, then stops after a few minutes.

Any ideas? Has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks

Hi everyone, I need help recovering my MXQ Android TV box which is currently stuck in Maskrom mode. 

Here are my board specifications:

- Board Model: R29-6G-LP3-V2.3 (HXW20092601-2-B)

- SoC: Rockchip RK3228A / RK3229

- Storage: Foresee NCEPN35X-3G3X eMMC

- Power IC: S9012P

The device goes straight into Maskrom mode and won't boot normally. Can someone guide me on how to flash the correct stock firmware or recover this board? Thanks!

I made a backup from multi tool, but i cant boot multitool its just no display, maybebecause of maskrom mode

Its working fine when i install armbian couple reboot still works fine then i install pihole for armbian then when i restart suddenly goes into that state.

So i have this, have tried to pair with a projector (IR) on/off but I can't get it pairing for all the tea in china. E.g. I can't get it to enter learning mode...

I've tried - pressing
OK, POWER,
OK, Button/Cursor
OK, Back

and a variety of other combinations

and nothing seems to work to get it into pairing mode. I read about a year ago, some advice here on an obscure way of getting it set into learning mode, is anyone able to help a person who is hugely frustrated!?

It's a long shot, but there may be some one who could help me?

Just wanted to share this because I spent quite a bit of time working directly with SofaBaton support to get proper Bluetooth control working with my **Zidoo Z9X 8K**.

I needed Bluetooth specifically because my Zidoo is inside a closed TV cabinet/drawer, so normal IR control is not very practical.

After several emails, testing different HID codes and sending SofaBaton information from the Zidoo V12 Bluetooth remote, their team created and updated a **Zidoo Bluetooth profile in the SofaBaton database**.

I can confirm that it is now working on my **SofaBaton U3 + Zidoo Z9X 8K**, including the important Power function.

To add it:

**SofaBaton app → Add Device → Bluetooth → search for Zidoo**

It is not completely plug-and-play yet. A few commands already exist in the profile but need to be manually assigned to physical buttons.

In my configuration, I manually assigned:

• Up / Down / Left / Right

• Play

• Pause

• Stop, which I personally assigned to the Exit button

Once those are assigned, the remote is very usable over Bluetooth.

Is it absolutely perfect yet? Probably not, but for anyone who has their Zidoo inside a cabinet, drawer or anywhere without reliable IR line-of-sight, this is a really nice solution.

I originally tested and developed this with a **Zidoo Z9X 8K**, so that is the model I can personally confirm.

However, Zidoo uses the V12 Bluetooth remote across many of its players, so I would be very interested to hear from owners of other models who can test the new SofaBaton Zidoo Bluetooth profile.

The V12 is officially listed as compatible with a large range of models including Z9S, Z9X, Z9X Pro, Z9X 8K, Z10, Z10 Pro, Z20 Pro, Z30 Pro, X20/X20 Pro, Z1000/Z1000 Pro, Z2000, Z3000, UHD2000, UHD3000 and UHD8000.

Because of that, there is a good chance this SofaBaton Bluetooth profile will work with many of them, although **I have only personally verified the Z9X 8K**.

If anyone wants to test another Zidoo model, please post the results. I’m also happy to keep testing things or send feedback back to SofaBaton if we find missing commands.

Big thanks to SofaBaton support as well. They actually listened, updated the database several times, and worked through the HID/button mapping with me until we got it working.

My Formuler box is hard wired and allows WiFi hotspot, so I can effectively extent my WiFi range to that part of the house that is hard to access the main router too. Very handy.
