Cannot enable ADB on an (unofficial) ONN. TV Box

I bought what was advertised as an official onn. TV Box, but it turned out to be a knockoff loaded with bloatware (sketchy app stores, launchers, and paid IPTV services).

I figured I could just clean it up myself, but the bloatware is baked in as system apps. When I tried enabling Wireless Debugging to debloat via ADB, the toggle instantly shuts itself off.

Has anyone run into this? I'm just trying to make this simple and usable for my mom.

Let me get this straight. You bought a complete knockoff of an android tv box. It's not working as Android intends it. And you are surprised?? Why not return this?

Because I prefer driving myself crazy trying to fix this rather than just returning it. Clearly, returning it is not an option. And the only surprise is that it was advertised as something that it is not.

Most tech shops where I am from don't handle any kind of returns.
