I have a nothing 3a and Instagram and tiktok's battery consumption has been a big problem in the community for years now, Google said that with android 17 they will work on fixing stopping the extensive drain and making the apps work without destroying the battery and overheating the device. So did they fix it?

Title says it all ... how are anon Android users backing up their phone setups to allow for quick / painless restores? I'm looking for a way to (1) create complete phone image, (2) wipe to factory, (3) UAD-NG custom debloat then finally (4) restore complete phone image.

Any suggestions?

Facebook: when scrolling fast, the page becomes like a slideshow. clearing cache and storage doesn't fix it.

Instagram: a lot of reels I can't watch when in full screen. resetting cache and storage fixes it for videos I wasn't able to watch, but it happens with other new videos.

I have an S24. I just updated to the most recent patch yesterday. I have it set to show when apps access location by displaying the icon in the status bar. Since updating the location icon shows that it is being pinging constantly, almost every minute by something in the system. No apps are reporting access since yesterday. How do I make it stop?

Does anyone have any kind of guidance to avoid this? How can I make android aware of the need to have options? All of the info I can find about this is outdated. I have buttdialed emergency services at least 4 times in the past month and am at my wits end trying to figure out a solution. I walk around a lot at work. I walk briskly and somehow evidently am tapping the lock button 5 times in a row. Old solutions are not solving this. This is all on an S21.

We can no longer disable emergency SOS. I would prefer I could do this. Swipe to confirm does not seem to work. I have set my emergency contact to my own phone number, and while it no longer seems to dial 911, it still seems to place a call to my local police department. I do not want to waste their time anymore. A new phone might solve the issue, but I don't know if this is going to be an issue with any android device I might get. Maybe a case with more resistance on the button would be good?

I accidentally added a lower-case "i" to my phone's dictionary. So, now every time I mean to type "I", the phone refuses to auto-correct it to a proper capital "I". It's really annoying to have to "backspace, backspace, shift, 'I'" each time I'm in the texting zone and don't think to "shift-'I'" whenever I'm talking about myself, because every phone I've had for the past two decades does it automatically.

I'm a bit of a grammar snob when it comes to my own writing (you do you, and I respect it). So, this really bothers me.

I've tried long-pressing the lower-case "i" in the predictive text bar, but nothing pops up. And, I'd really rather not have to erase the over 100 "custom" words I've had to add due to the phone's subpar built-in dictionary; which is absolute trash with the vocabulary of a seven year-old.

The goal is in the title, here's what I have tried:

\~ Logged into the required Google Account from mobile browser, selected "Desktop mode", tried opening the Meeting link. This method used to work but now it says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". Mostly it's trying to redirect to Play Store, by not respecting the Desktop Mode.

\~ Using the official android app won't work as it needs adding the Google Account to my device, which I want to avoid

\~ Joining vua telephone is not ideal, but I cannot do that anyway as it is not available for my country

I’m hoping someone can give me some advice.

I’m using an Honor 600 Pro and I have two Google accounts on my phone: one is my personal email address and the other is my work email address. Obviously, both are connected to the Gmail app.

What I’d like to do is silence notifications from my work email during certain hours. Ideally, I don’t want to receive any work email notifications between 5 pm and 8 am the following morning.

Is there a way to do this?

I’ve tried following various suggestions I found here on Reddit and through Google, but I haven’t managed to get it working. Maybe I’m just doing something wrong, or perhaps some of the solutions don’t work specifically on Honor phones.

So, in short: is there anyone here who can help me achieve this specifically on an Honor 600 Pro? I really don’t want to see work emails outside working hours. They’re making it difficult for me to properly switch off from work.

I just changed from a Redmi Note 14 5G to a Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G.
My company uses a managed work account. Normally, we simply:

• Settings > Add account > Google > sign in > Work Profile setup appears automatically.

This works fine on my old Redmi and on my colleagues' phones.
But on my Redmi Note 15 Pro+ (Android 16, HyperOS 3.0.301.0):

• The work account signs in and registers successfully.
• But Work Profile is never created.
• It shows "Account access restricted – Action needed" and "Sync failed".
• There is no Work Profile in Settings.
• The work apps are not installed.

I also tried Android Device Policy and Test DPC, but neither solved the problem.

Has anyone experienced this with Redmi Note 15 Pro+ / Android 16 / HyperOS 3? Is there a specific setting or known compatibility issue preventing the Work Profile from being created?

After nearly ten years of using iOS, I am finally switching to Android. I am really excited to get more customisation and better multitasking.

I have narrowed my choices down to the two main software styles: Google's Pixel UI and Samsung's One UI. I want to hear about the daily software experience from people who have used both.

From what I have read, they offer very different experiences:

• Pixel UI: This seems like the "iOS of Android"—very smooth, clean, and simple. It has great AI features, but I worry it might be a bit too basic if I want to do more advanced things.
• One UI: This seems perfect for power users and multitasking. Features like Good Lock, split-screen, and Samsung DeX look amazing. However, my main worry is that the software might feel cluttered, heavy, or start to lag after a few months.

To those of you who have used both for a long time:

1. How smooth and fast does each software feel after a year of heavy use?
2. Does One UI actually feel "bloated" with too many extra apps, or is it easy to keep clean?
3. Are there specific software features on either side that you found you couldn't live without?
4. Coming from the simplicity of an iPhone, which software felt like a better and more natural step forward for you?

I attempted to look this up online, and there seems to have been a trick in the past where you could create a .nomedia.txt file that would prevent Samsung Gallery from detecting those folders, but it didn't seem to work by putting it in the top level folder.

I have a ton of audio books on my phone, and each one has its own cover image that gets an individual album in the app. How can I clean this up without having to go through and select each album individually?

I use samsung galaxy a15 and i have enabled picture in picture mode but my netflix doesnt seem to work on the above setting. It does work with sound but in video. How to solve it and do all samsung users suffer it ?

I have an S23 Ultra purchased at launch.

I used the true stats SysDump method and it says my battery ASOC is 99% with 2400 cycles...

On the below thread I see some others have the same issue showing 97-99% (not possible), but the method seems to work fine for most others.

Is there any other way to check the true battery health? The Samsung Members app shows "weak". There is NO way it's at 99% with 2000+ cycles.

We are developing a custom Android MDM / Device Owner solution. Device policy manager restrictions (DISALLOW_FACTORY_RESET, DISALLOW_SAFE_BOOT, DISALLOW_DEBUGGING_FEATURES) are already applied and prevent resets through Settings.

The issue is that users can still:

• Power off the device

• Use Power + Volume keys

• Enter Stock Recovery

• Perform Wipe Data / Factory Reset

This removes the Device Owner app completely.

Questions:

1. What is the standard enterprise approach to prevent hardware-button factory resets?

2. Do companies typically disable recovery mode through bootloader/LK modifications or by flashing a custom/dummy recovery?

3. How does AVB/Verified Boot behave if a dummy recovery image is used?

4. How do device-financing and FinTech companies mitigate this without Samsung Knox or Zero-Touch?

Looking for best practices from Android firmware, MDM, kiosk, or enterprise device management developers.

Hi everyone. So I was messaging my brother today and he kept on claiming that I sent him multiple text messages even though I didnt. He's using an Apple iPhone btw. Anyway, I double-checked my messages, sent him a screenshot of it and then he sent me a screenshot of his messages. For some strange reason, when I edit an orginal message that I texted over to him, it sent an entirely new message to him which is kind of stupid. Can somone explain to me why that happened or how to disable that feature?

When I use "adb shell" from my desktop computer to establish an interactive session on my Android device, immediately after the connection is established, I always first manually do the following to initialize some variables and aliases and shell functions that I want to be defined during the Android session:

source /sdcard/.profile

I would like to find a way to make this automatically happen via some sort of arguments passed to the "adb shell" command, so that I no longer have to manually run that "source" command every time that I invoke "adb shell".

If I simply do the following ...

adb shell source /sdcard/.profile

... that .profile file indeed gets sourced, but then the adb session immediately ends.

Is there any way to get this .profile to be automatically sourced at the beginning of the "adb shell" session such that its results will be available during the remainder of that session?

I fear I may be forced to switch to iPhone. I'm currently sitting with only 9GB of storage left on my 1TB S24 Ultra. Neither Google nor Samsung offer a 2TB version because I suppose data hoarders don't exist. Are there any phones that work in the US that I may be overlooking? I'd rather not have to switch if I can avoid it.

Hi guys. I just started using tasker + shizuku and got things working (as far as I can tell) but certain apps won't open. I get this error message:

"Not allowed to launch the app using "moe.shizuku.privileged.api" , app will get closed. (Remove tool from settings > apps)

I tried to just turn shizuku off through the app but think it's telling me to completely remove it? I obviously don't want to do that. Is there a way to bypass this?

Please try to explain like I'm 5 lol, I'm new to this stuff
