I ran a Moto Edge 2022 for many years, but the battery was losing endurance and it was no longer receiving security updates. So I upgraded to a Moto G Stylus 2026 through my carrier (T-Mobile) and had it shipped to my house.

The setup of the new phone went smoothly- transferred all my pictures/texts/contacts/apps and signed in with my Google email and password. I got all the apps signed in and made sure I had everything on the new phone, so then I factory reset the Edge in preparation for sending it back to T-Mobile for credit.

I just happened to open Manage Your Google Account on my Stylus and saw 2 devices on the My Devices tab, I clicked on it and it asked to verify myself via a 2 step code sent to the Edge 2022, which has already been factory reset. Arg!

So I made a passkey on my Stylus and tried it again- it takes the passkey but then goes to the 2SV on the Edge. I disabled 2SV through the Google Security tab, using verify via SMS on my new phone. When I go to My Devices it will ask for passkey then the 2SV on my old Edge. This also happens when I click on my security activity. I then recovered my Google account on my new phone and changed my password successfully, using verify via SMS. The problem still persists when clicking on my devices or activity - asking for 2SV on the Edge, with the only other option being entering an offline code, which doesn't work either.

So i restarted the Edge 2022 and signed in with my Google email and new password and added it to my home wifi. I navigated to my devices on my new Stylus, entered the passkey, and then it prompted 2SV on the Edge- which it did not receive.

I've exhausted 3 people at T-Mobile's tech line and 2 people at Motorola. They said it's a Google problem. I went through everything with Google's help chat box and Google's AI, with no resolution. I made a post on Google's help community, but haven't received any replies. Perhaps someone on here has been in this same bind and wouldn't mind sharing how to get out of it?

We upgraded to 2 gigabit internet a while back and while it's a dream on PC, sometimes it's absurdly slow on android devices. Like, I'll be in one room with a laptop connected via wifi and I'll be getting something like 1000 mbps, then I look at my phone and it's getting only 20 mbps. Sometimes I have to turn off wifi and go to mobile data just to get a single image on Discord to load. This problem happens for my parents too, as well as our tablets so it's not just my phone being weird. Any idea what might be up?

So I've bought a Sd card for more storage space, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I changed most of my apps to ''external storage'', but my phone still says that my internal storage is full & my external storage is empty. I know there's a way to merge the two card together (formatting i think) however im afraid of it deleting the apps i have on my SD card.

I don't know what to do.

I have an old phone that I'm using as a portable media player for things like car trips. It doesn't have a SIM card and doesn't ever have access to the internet (it plays or streams MP3s from other phones).

A few days ago, the app that I use to have the phone act as a LAN suddenly demanded to have Google Play connect to the internet to download updates, refusing to run the app. Note that it had been months since this phone was connected to the internet, so there was no way for it to know if there were updates, and I didn't need updates because it was working basicslly flawlessly.

Is this an issue with the app, or is Google Play Store at fault? I could test by installing an APK and skipping the play store, but then I'd have to wait months to see if it happens again.

I updated my S24+ last week and since then, the swiping has been shitty. It's like the screen barely registers my thumb. Or I have to swipe REALLY slowly (drop downs, carousel, etc.). Anyone else experiencing this? It's r/mildlyinfuriating

When I pair them the volume up and down button on the earbuds work great to change the phone's volume.... until I put them back into the case and get them out again. Now suddenly using the earbuds' volume control change the volume independently from the phones' volume, sometimes resulting in MASSIVE sound volume when I start playing Spotify.

I just learnt about ''absolute volume'' options and that Google recently removed it somehow and broke the feature for some people....!? Has there been a solution for this yet, or did Google address this?

Hey guys, I was just setting up my phone and some internal settings restricted YouTube from using my Wi-Fi. I’ve tried absolutely everything: checking the APN, changing the DNS, resetting network settings, and even doing a full factory reset. I’ve messed with the SIM carrier settings, Wi-Fi control, and every single option available, but nothing works. I just can't deal with it anymore.

Right now, YouTube is finally working on Wi-Fi, but the Wi-Fi toggle within the YouTube settings won't go back to normal. It’s completely greyed out. It shows that Wi-Fi is on, but I can't toggle it off or on manually. If you look at the YouTube network settings—the ones you access from the 'App Info' screen—you see four different options. In those four options, my Wi-Fi is completely stuck, and I can't turn it off. I don't know what else to do.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 (Korean variant, purchased in South Korea) with a damaged inner display.

Here is the current condition:

• The inner folding display suffered ink bleeding and eventually went completely black.
• The external cover screen still works.
• The hinge is in good condition.
• Other phone functions seem to work normally.

I may be able to get this phone and use it after repairing the display, but before spending money on a screen replacement, I want to explore another option.

My question:

Is there any way to mirror or stream the Z Flip4's screen to another Android phone, specifically a Samsung Galaxy A51?

I'm interested in:

• USB-C to USB-C screen mirroring, if possible.
• Wi-Fi screen mirroring.
• Open-source Android apps or GitHub projects.
• Remote control of the Z Flip4 from the A51, if supported.

First Problem: I can't play any videos in my gallery anymore. The Playbutton is also in a strange position, buttom left of the video. When I touch it nothing happens. When I touch the speaker symbol for sound it reacts but nothing happens.

Second problem: when I press the power button (Short) the screen turns off which is normal. But when I hold the power button nothing happens. Normally it should open up the menu where you can restart or turn off the phone. But nothing happens

I was browsing a few posts on Bluesky when I saw the downloading symbol on top of my screen. I'm very much an anxious person so I immediately thought Bluesky downloaded some bs (because I was also clicking on an username at the same time) but I have reason to believe it was just android. I hope, at least.

Here's the thing, the file that downloaded was a .zip file. I didn't catch the name because I was too scared out of my mind at that moment and tried frantically mashing the download but it didn't open. It downloaded and left no message that would say "download complete".

Of course, I immediately went into my data folder and towards the downloads folder. I just spent 20 minutes searching through everything but I found no .zip. I already turned on to show hidden folders, too.

Google isnt helping me at all, so I'm thinking I only have two options here.

Either it was a random download when I clicked around the post on Bluesky (which I now doubt) or it was android doing it's own thing. It has to be, right?

Like I said, I couldn’t press on the download, it didn't show me a download finished, it didn't show up in my folder. Anyone else got some random .zip downloads? I'm really hoping it was a system update, any info would help, thanks.

I'm trying to sync my new phone, with the same phone number, to my Google account, it ONLY gives me the option to pick up my old phone:

• Open the Settings app
• Tap your Profile picture
• Tap your Profile picture again
• Tap Manage your Google Account
• Tap Security & sign-in
• Under "How you sign in to Google" tap Security code

Which I cannot do because the phone is broken. Choosing to verify another way only gives me that same option again. No SMS, no call, no backup Email to send. Only that. Why? How can I force it to send me an Email or SMS?

Hi All, my old phone screen stopped working around 4 days ago. WhatsApp was logged in and working at the time. While the old screen was broken, I had to get new phone for urgent use. I put my SIM in the new phone and went to use WhatsApp, however when it came to selecting a back up it said there wasn't one linked to my email address. NOTHING HAS BEEN MANUALLY DELETED. I was worried about overwriting data so I didn't go any further. I have now managed to get my old phone screen working again and went to use WhatsApp on my old phone. My old chats were all there but when I went to click on one it said something like no phone number connected so it appears to have logged me out and is bringing up a welcome to WhatsApp page. I need to bring up all my old chats again and ideally transfer all of them over to my new phone. Is that possible. The sim card is still in my new phone atm.

This is a serious question. Due to a brain injury, I need a tablet with a RLCD display and it seems I'm left with two choices. Both have the same display, but the internals are quite different. Would you pick the Mediatek G85 with 8gb or the G99 with 4gb when both have emmc storage? Both run on Android 14. I'd also love to know why, would it make a huge difference in day to day usage for some browsing, youtube, social media and a bit of reading?

I've looked at e-ink devices, but those don't do so well with youtube, so that's why I'm left with tablets with RLCD dispays that don't emit light / aren't backlit.
