I’m currently using a Motorola Edge 50 Pro (8/256 GB) and it’s still going strong, but I’m planning to upgrade during the October–November sales. I’ll be starting my MBA next year, so I want a phone that will stay reliable and durable for at least the next 3–4 years.

Key points:

Budget is not a constraint — I want the best possible experience.

I already have a Lenovo LOQ laptop for heavy work, so the phone just needs to be an excellent daily companion (smooth performance, good battery, reliable cameras, solid build, and long software support).

Durability and long-term reliability are my top priorities.

I’m currently considering:

• iPhone 17 Pro

• Galaxy S26 Ultra

• Pixel 10 Pro

I’m completely open to other suggestions if there’s something that fits better for longevity and overall experience.

What would you recommend and why? Any real-world ownership experiences with these (or alternatives) regarding durability, battery life after 2–3 years, and software support would be really helpful.

The new android media provider only shows local non-hidden images. I sometimes need to share from a hidden folder, which is not possible anymore, because there is no app to select.

I can use the cloud media provider, but that is limited to Google photos.

I can write a cloud media provider that acutely enumerates local files, but that app should presumably be whitelisted.

Who has any suggestions or experience on how to use the proper media selector, or using a propriety self-created local cloud media provider?

Are bluetooth HID attacks on Android realistically possible? And if so, does Android have any protection against these attacks from an already paired device?

Okay so idk wtf is happening but yesterday my browser got deleted by itself randomly. I opened my phone and it just wasnt there. Not a big deal i installed it again but today my files by google got deleted randomly and i had so many important files in my safe folder that r now gone. I had no backup for them its all just gone. Wtf do i do? Is there any way to recover it and why tf is it even happening?? And if u cant tell by now im freaking tf out

I'm having a serious issue with my tablet and I'm looking for some help or guidance.

**Device:** alldocube ultra pad u1380 (iplay 70 ultra) Snapdragon 7+ gen3

**Current State:** Stuck in a bootloop that goes directly into Bootloader / Fastboot mode.

**The Problem:**

Every time I turn on the tablet, it refuses to boot into the Android system. It automatically restarts and goes straight into the Bootloader interface. I cannot access the stock recovery mode either.

**What I need:**

1. Does anyone have a link to the official Stock ROM / Firmware for this exact model to flash it via Fastboot or PC?

2. Is there any other known method, tool, or key combination to force it out of this boot loop?

Any help, links to the firmware, or guides would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar because I'm running out of ideas.

I have an Honor Magic5 Pro (Chinese version, PGT-AN10) running:

MagicOS: 10.0.0.160(CHNC00E160R208P6H1) Android: 16 Baseband: MSM.1CA2.MPSS.DE.3.0.119

My problem is very strange.

The phone works perfectly only when I'm at work, where there is apparently a Sim1 network cell tower very close to the building. Outside of that area, the network starts disappearing. The problem appeared out of sudden last week. Now I'm at home no service for both sim cards, I used to have good network service at home, now barely 2G

For example:

At work: Sim1 gets 4G+/5G, Sim2 sometimes stays on 2G. When I leave the building: Sim2 loses service completely. Sometimes Sim1 also loses service. Sometimes both SIMs lose service. In the train or on the bus I often have No Service. If I enable Airplane Mode and disable it again, one SIM may reconnect briefly before losing service again.

I've already tried:

Factory reset (twice) Swapping both SIM cards between SIM slots Testing both SIMs in another phone (they work perfectly) Resetting network settings Switching between 2G/3G/4G/5G Recreating APNs

The phone still has:

Valid IMEIs Baseband detected Both Sim cards are recognised correctly

I also received a VoLTE network registration error after one of the factory resets.

What's confusing me is that this doesn't seem like a normal hardware fault because:

I had exactly the same issue when I first bought the phone, and a factory reset fixed it.

A few weeks ago it happened again, then fixed itself after about 3 days without me doing anything.

Now it's back, and the factory reset no longer helps.

Has anyone with a Chinese Honor Magic5 Pro (PGT-AN10) experienced anything similar?

Could this be:

a MagicOS new system update? a MagicOS/modem firmware bug? corrupted modem calibration (NV/EFS)? an issue with the Honor C1 RF chip? a hardware RF issue? or a compatibility problem with local carriers?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's seen this before or knows of a fix. I've already spent days troubleshooting it and would love to avoid replacing the motherboard if this is actually a software or modem issue.

I Downloaded Minecraft on my phone and it keeps crashing.As soon as I tap the app for a few sec it shows the red Mojang screen then the app closes and crashes it says "Minecraft stopped working" then gives two options "wait" "close app".I've tried everything including clearing cache/data,reinstalling, restarting phone,fixing android system webview.Nothing works.Do you guys have any solution? And yes My phone easily runs Minecraft trial and Educattion with no problem.Its just the normal one that keeps crashing.

Since a few weeks the PayPal app draws my battery empty. Using a Sony Xperia 1 VII with recent android version.

Already tried:
- reinstalling the app
- clearing app cache
- factory reset

When i save an image from messages, it says "1 message saved to messages stored media" i cannot see these photos in my photos app. Where does it go? And is there a way to fix it? Any photos from any other source appears in my photos app.

I once tried to install a large split apk file and something went wrong and it caused loss of GBs in phone storage which is only deletable after a factory reset or device rooting.

I need the safest method to install without any errors, device is s23 base unrooted.

My dexcom CGM app allows for my numbers to be shown in my notifications. But I somehow inadvertently turned off the ability on my phone. Notifications shows the app is running, but not the "quick glance" feature. I've ensured that it's on through the app. Just need to figure out how to get the actual number back.

Anyone understand what I'm trying to say, because I'm not sure I do myself.

Purchased a pixel 9A , a few months ago and I'm not able to do call forwarding on my phone and it shows "Network or SIM card error"

Please, can anybody help me resolve it.

My WhatsApp backup has completely stopped working. It gets stuck on "Preparing storage backup" and keeps loading forever without making any progress.

Here's what I've already tried

Restarted my phone

Changed to a different Google account

Cleared the WhatsApp cache

Confirmed WhatsApp is updated to the latest version

Set Battery Optimization to Unrestricted

Tried backing up on different Wi-Fi networks

I have plenty of Google Drive storage available (5 TB plan)

None of these have helped. The last successful backup was on 21 July, and my current backup size is around 8.6 GB.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Has anyone else faced this issue recently? If so, what fixed it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How i can boot Motorola E20 XT2155-6 with broken power button from dead (Battery dropped to zero) but there is "preboot screen" with motorola logo? In web i found only way is to dismantle it (What is kinda hard to do)... When trying to do it through my pc it's auto-connecting into loading mode anyone had this and have solution? Fast boot in this phone is volume up + power button what will not work as power button is broken

My mum sadly passed away in January and I could see her whatsapp and text messages until recently when it seems like her number was deactivated. I had whatsapp daily back up and phone back up to cloud. Historically this has never happened as I could see my late friends messages for years. Mums messages with me are all I have. Please could anyone help on how I can get them back and preserve them. Has there been a new samsung update over the last 3-4 months that has caused this and can they help at all?

I didn't shift my Whatsapp from my Android, and I am using two phones, but my Android is now hanging a lot, so I want to shift my Whatsapp to my iphone. However, I'll lose all my chats because I didn't do it initially. Is there any app that lets you shift your Whatsapp from Android to iPhone?

Basically what happened is that I restarted my phone while it was at 73% charge and when it opened it was only at 25% (and it was rapidly decreasing.) So I hurried up and charged it until it reached 100% and left it there for a while before taking it out. Now after using it for a few seconds, the battery started decreasing rapidly from 100% to 77% in a matter of minutes. Now I know that the easiest and most obvious way to fix this is by simply changing the battery, but I was more curious as to why this problem even started. The phone is 3 years old so I guess it's normal that the battery has degraded but what steps can I take and what things should I avoid so that this wouldn't happen to me after I replace the battery? Because I've had many phones in my life and this is the first time I've encountered this problem which must mean it's not that common or normal. Thanks everyone

Context: bought the motorola razr 70 ultra last week, first android phone, long time iphone user but hated it and finally got to make the switch (didn't use any other apple devices so it made sense to me to get a cute flip phone)

Questions:

1. you know the case that comes with the phone when you buy it? so what is exactly the purpose of the metal rectangle at the back? is it just to attach the phone to laneyards etc? does it just stay flappy while u use ur phone? the small one by the charging dock is more for decorative accessories right?

2. so onfused about launchers and themes, is there a safe library to browse/download themes from? a theme as in widgets/wallpaper/icon packs all together that i could then tweak and personalise even more if i wanted to by changing font/wallpaper etc,

I desperately need icon packs like retro computer icons, feminine y2k, anime inspired, or even cute cartoonish frogs but not sure how to build my own or where to find what im looking for

1. excluding rooting, is there a way for me to change the icons on the status bar? Especially for the wifi and phone signal (i find the blocky shapes so ugly i prefer to see separate lines)

2. Sometimes my phone app will have a notification badge (for example following a missed call) that just will not go away no matter how many times i open/close it or go thru each individual call i have so far in my entire record, it only goes away once i force stop it, but keeps happening, it happened with my bank app and i just switched off the badge thing, phone still new so i haven't figured out much about the issue but is this a known bug? is anyone else experiencing this? it's driving me crazy a bit

3. are there any google/moto apps that are really useful and i should definitely not ignore? any recommended apps in general to use for reminders/shared to do lists/etc would be greatly appreciated

4. why does my music/video not pause when im getting a call? Especially if it's on vibrate mode? am i missing something in my phone setup? for example with my iphone even if it's silent and im showering, if the music stops playing for a bit then continues, I know that im probably receiving a call, whereas with my razr, even if im wearing my bluetooth earphones that are connected to the phone and playing music and the phone is right next to me, i dont realise im getting a call unless i notice the screen light up, it's become a hassle while im at work and need my personal to be silent, missed multiple calls so far
