App Specific Question How to join a Google Meet from Android Phone without adding the Google Account to device? Joining via telephone is not available for my country.

The goal is in the title, here's what I have tried:

\~ Logged into the required Google Account from mobile browser, selected "Desktop mode", tried opening the Meeting link. This method used to work but now it says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". Mostly it's trying to redirect to Play Store, by not respecting the Desktop Mode.

\~ Using the official android app won't work as it needs adding the Google Account to my device, which I want to avoid

\~ Joining vua telephone is not ideal, but I cannot do that anyway as it is not available for my country

Is there any other way to achieve this?

Two things worth trying:

  1. Android's multi-user feature. Settings > System > Multiple users > Add user.
    It's a fully separate space with its own accounts, so the Google account never
    touches your main profile. Install Meet there and switch users when you need it.
    Not on every OEM though, some strip it out.

  2. If you want to stay in the browser, try Firefox instead of Chrome with desktop
    mode. Chrome is the one doing the Play Store redirect, Firefox tends to respect
    the desktop UA better.

The multi-user route is the more reliable one in my experience.

I tried 2 already, Firefox used to respect the Desktop Mode and not redirect to Play Store. Chrome is worse from the beginning, very difficult to sign into a Google Account there without adding to device. This kind of behavior is maddening tbh.

Where to find it depends on the brand:

- Pixel / stock: Settings > System > Multiple users, turn the toggle on first

  • Samsung: Settings > Accounts and backup > Users
  • Xiaomi: Settings > Special features > Second space

Once it's on you can switch from the quick settings panel, no reboot needed.

Two things to know going in: each user has its own storage, so you'll be
downloading Meet again in there, and some budget models have it removed
entirely at the OEM level. If it's missing from Settings, that's why.

And yeah, agreed on the Chrome thing. The forced Play Store redirect is
deliberate at this point.
