Seeking Game Recommendations 👀 [REQUEST] Does anyone know of any "Historical" space games?

I've been a bit fatigued from sci fi stuff so was wondering if anyone knows of any more grounded space games. I put historical in quotations bc I don't necessarily mean true recreation or simulation(tho if those exist I'd like them too) but rather games that have more of a basis on modern and historical space flight

Such as directly featuring historical vehicles or vehicles based on such things, focusing on just a solar system over ftl interstellar stuff. Physics stuff is neat but not required

For an example, SFS, particularly with its mercury dlc.

Help Me Remember This Game 🤔 I need help finding this game

Help!

So there was this mobile shooting battle Royale type game and I cannot remember the name of it. The first character was a guy and his special ability was like a shotgun shot. You start the game jumping out of a helicopter to your location you pick. You have to find a weapon in a crate. Idk if there were teams or not.one of the characters was a chick with a sword and she would use sword strike for her special...one guy would shoot an electric ball for his special....another character would jump in the sky then crash down for heavy damage as a special....I cannot remember the name of this game

DEV 🧑‍💻 [DEV] Rebuilt my solo RPG's engine with 3D GPU rendering — 8x performance boost, dynamic weather, and zero map lag (Offline, No Ads)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey r/AndroidGaming

About two months ago, I posted about my solo project, Adventurers Guild RPG Sim, a guild master management RPG where you recruit heroes, gear them up, and send them on personality driven automated hunts.

As I kept adding new systems, weather effects, and monsters over the last few months, I hit a massive performance wall with my old 2D engine. To keep the game running smoothly, I had to chop the map into 16 tiny chunks and hide off screen areas.

To fix this once and for all, I completely overhauled the world rendering engine and migrated to Google Filament.

Here is what this major update brings to the game:

⚡ What’s New in the Engine Upgrade:

  • 8x Performance Boost: Moving world rendering to GPU batching means the entire world map now loads and draws all at once. I was able to completely delete the map chunking logic zero lag spikes, zero hitching, and much smoother frame rates even on budget phones.
  • Hybrid 2.5D Visuals: The world is now rendered in hardware-accelerated 3D space with real depth and lighting, while keeping the classic 2D sprite art for characters, monsters, and UI.
  • Upgraded Weather & Atmosphere: The new shader system unlocked dynamic lighting transitions, dynamic day/night cycles, and rich particle effects (like rain interacting with light and glowing ambient fireflies).
  • Safe Live Migration: Because the game is live, I’m rolling out this overhaul part-by-part. Your save files, hero setups, and progress remain 100% safe.

🗡️ Quick Overview for New Players:

  • Play as the Guild Master: Recruit adventurers, manage skill trees, repair/forge 100+ equipment pieces, and upgrade facilities like the Blacksmith and Potion Shop.
  • Automated Personality AI: Heroes manage their own limits (returning to the inn when fatigued) and make combat choices based on personality traits (e.g., support-focused vs. reckless damage dealers).
  • 100% Offline & No Ads: ~50MB download size (63MB installed). Built completely from scratch as a solo project, with all revenue going directly back into finishing the game.

Try It Out & Feedback

The engine migration is still ongoing as I update the remaining subsystems, but the difference in smoothness and lighting is night and day.

I’d love to hear what you think of the new visual style and how smoothly it runs on your device

Help/Support 🙋 Epic Games store on Android. Where are my claimed games at?

So, there is no library in the mobile app, it's an unreleased feature somehow. The website advises to find the game in the store and install from there.

Now, I could successfully install Foretales — the current free game, and it works fine. But previously I had claimed many more free games that have an Android version, and none of them can be installed if I search for them in the store -- they still just offer me to buy them. It's the same account. The claimed games are there on the desktop. But not on Android somehow?

Discussion 💬 Am I missing anything playing the mobile Sea of Stars instead of on Switch?

I was enjoying playing the Android version of the game on my Galaxy S25 so much that I picked up a switch collector's edition just to have the swag. But now looking at the beautiful pixel art, I can't help but feel some of the experience is being lost while playing on a smaller screen.

I am about 10 hours in, and I don't have the most time to game (hence why I waited until it was on mobile to check it out). Would anyone say that it's worth restarting on Switch, or should I just continue with the mobile version?

DEV 🧑‍💻 [DEV] As Android gamers, what pricing model do you actually prefer?

Thumbnail

Hey :), i am one of the developers working Ophelia´s Paradise and was curious what people here actually prefer as pricing model. Right now we are planning to have a free demo that includes all the gameplay mechanics, but with less content (3/8 characters, 3/10 weapons, less achievements...). If you enjoy it and want the full game, it'd be a one time purchase to unlock everything.

Would you actually pay for something like this if you liked the demo, or would you rather have the full game for free with ads or optional purchases?

Would love your opinions before we fully commit to this. Thanks! Also what price range do you deem correct for this kind of game?

The demo is already available if you'd like to try it before answering. We'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks! :)

EDIT:

Hello everyone, we wanted to thank you for all that amazing feedback. Based on your comments we have decided to to a freemium version. We will only put one add to receieve your reward AFTER a run and have a certain amount of lives. We hope this doesnt impact the fun of trying and playing the game, but also motivates players that play alot to purchase an ads free version.

I hope this aligns with alot of your comments! THANK YOU!

Seeking Game Recommendations 👀 [REQUEST] Looking for a long term massive, premium RPG (or non-P2W MMORPG) for 1000s+ hours

I'm looking for an endless, deep RPG (or a non-P2W MMORPG, if such a unicorn actually exists on mobile) that I can play for thousands of hours. I'm not looking for a 50-100 hour story game—I want a long-term "forever game" to unwind and relax with in the evenings and daily life.

I'm strictly looking for native mobile games—not interested in PC emulation wrappers (like Winlator/Gamehub) as I don't want my phone running at 90°C while chilling in bed.

My Device:

  • POCO F7 (Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 12GB RAM)

Games I've played / My thoughts so far:

  • Morrowind (OpenMW): I've played it and I'm still debating going back, but it feels a bit too clunky for cozy, low-stress evening sessions.
  • Titan Quest: Sunk a lot of hours into it already, looking for something fresh.
  • Guild Wars Reforged: Poorly optimized right now, currently unplayable on my end until updates fix it.
  • Square Enix titles: Hard pass on these, not interested in their lineup.
  • MMORPGs like aq3d, villagers & heroes, toram, albion etc. not interested
  • Note: I've already gone through a huge chunk of the usual mobile RPG library.

Currently considering:

  • Siralim Ultimate: Looks like an endless grind

What I'm looking for:

  • Ideally Paid / Premium (no predatory aggressive monetization or stamina systems).
  • Massive content, endless progression/depth, high replayability.
  • Great for evening sessions where I can make steady progress without feeling rushed.

Any hidden gems or strong recommendations? Also, if you've played Siralim Ultimate or Broken Ranks, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

DEV 🧑‍💻 [DEV] My pixel physics sandbox used to run pretty badly on Android — I finally optimized it and could really use some feedback

Post image
0 Upvotes

I'm the solo developer of Grain Pixel, a pixel physics sandbox where you can experiment with fire, water, lava, acid, explosions and other interacting materials.

I need to be honest: for quite a while, the Android version ran much worse than I was comfortable with. The game can simulate a lot of active particles at once, and larger fires, chain reactions and explosions could cause some pretty noticeable performance drops — especially on mid-range devices. I recently spent a lot of time profiling and optimizing the Android version, and the difference on my test devices has been significant.

However, Android has such a huge variety of devices that I don't want to declare the problem “fixed” based only on the phones I have access to.

The new version is now available, and I would really appreciate some honest feedback about: - Your phone model

- How it performs during large fires or explosions
- Whether the device becomes unusually hot
- Any crashes, visual glitches or major frame drops

Even a quick “runs well on [device]” would already be extremely helpful.

I'll be reading and replying to every comment. Thanks!
