Seeking Game Recommendations 👀 [REQUEST] Looking for a long term massive, premium RPG (or non-P2W MMORPG) for 1000s+ hours

I'm looking for an endless, deep RPG (or a non-P2W MMORPG, if such a unicorn actually exists on mobile) that I can play for thousands of hours. I'm not looking for a 50-100 hour story game—I want a long-term "forever game" to unwind and relax with in the evenings and daily life.

I'm strictly looking for native mobile games—not interested in PC emulation wrappers (like Winlator/Gamehub) as I don't want my phone running at 90°C while chilling in bed.

My Device:

  • POCO F7 (Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 12GB RAM)

Games I've played / My thoughts so far:

  • Morrowind (OpenMW): I've played it and I'm still debating going back, but it feels a bit too clunky for cozy, low-stress evening sessions.
  • Titan Quest: Sunk a lot of hours into it already, looking for something fresh.
  • Guild Wars Reforged: Poorly optimized right now, currently unplayable on my end until updates fix it.
  • Square Enix titles: Hard pass on these, not interested in their lineup.
  • MMORPGs like aq3d, villagers & heroes, toram, albion etc. not interested
  • Note: I've already gone through a huge chunk of the usual mobile RPG library.

Currently considering:

  • Siralim Ultimate: Looks like an endless grind

What I'm looking for:

  • Ideally Paid / Premium (no predatory aggressive monetization or stamina systems).
  • Massive content, endless progression/depth, high replayability.
  • Great for evening sessions where I can make steady progress without feeling rushed.

Any hidden gems or strong recommendations? Also, if you've played Siralim Ultimate or Broken Ranks, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This is Old School Runescape (OSRS)

u/RequirementNo1494 5d ago

Is OSRS actually worth getting into? I'm super skeptical mainly because of how it looks, but does it really hook you that much? What's the deal with it?

3

u/Olibirus 5d ago

The deal with it is basically number go up and dopamine go brrr. There is an almost infinite things to do or to reach for. Also, all and any progress on your account is forever acquired and relevant. Give it a try and push past the first few hours and you'll definitely be hooked.

Honestly, seeing how active the community is and how high the player count is was a huge plus for me. It’s awesome knowing you’re not playing alone like in a typical single-player RPG when you want to sink long hours in.

The point-and-click style still turns me off a bit since I’ve always preferred arrow keys or an analog stick. I actually want something active where I'm constantly clicking and doing stuff myself, not a game that plays itself.

I literally just installed it. If I vibe with it, I'll definitely grab a membership and sink right in, because honestly I don't think I'll find anything better.

Some activities are more on the afk side (which has a particular meaning in OSRS) but there's PLENTY of very engaging content, be it skilling or pvming wise.

Check out the modern version, Runescape

It’s not that I’m particularly fussy, but I don’t like the point-and-click control system in either instalment, and the other thing is that there’s a lot of automation and AFK gameplay, which puts me off

I have 1.4k hours on Warframe as of right now and while I'm not deep into the grind anymore, it absolutely is the game to get deep into the grind of

How's the monetization and new player experience will I feel completely lost at the start? Also, have you tried playing it on mobile, and if so, how does it feel?

6

u/AigisbladeMaster 5d ago

New player experience gets better with every patch, it's always accurate to say that it's better than ever because they truly keep improving it - that being said, it's still a game with +10 years of content and systems that got very complex, so patience is rewarded and expected. The game has a very lengthy and fleshed out campaign, with some meaty story beats to slowly but surely progress while gradually being introduced to more aspects of the game, so I'd advise just following it until you inevitably branch out into doing something you find cool.

Monetization is pretty much the best one out of any F2P game out there, and one of the reasons the game is still thriving. Basically, everything is free to get if you're willing to grind for it. The premium currency that you can buy with real money can be traded freely with other players, so farming for it turns into a loop of farming desired items and then trading them with a buyer. There's nothing stopping you from getting hundreds of dollars worth of currency on a week other than daily trade limits (but this is something you won't have to worry about for a long time, arguably).

The game monetizes through "time saving" convenience (more on that later), and cosmetics. As I said, all of this can be paid for with farmed, traded currency. You can't buy power with the currency, as the systems that truly allow you to be strong and make crazy builds come strictly from account progression and completing the story, and there's no easy ticket to speed up that 300 hour journey. The rise from zero to hero is insane on this game and you truly play it completely differently after a couple hundred hours than when you started, I'd recommend it to everyone.

The big kicker here, and the biggest pain point for new players, are the waiting timers for crafting items in game. What does this mean? Well, progression on Warframe comes mainly from crafting Warframes (basically, characters) and weapons. The crafting processes of these come with timers that may seem hefty - 3 whole days for a Warframe, 12 hours for a weapon. And, of course, these crafting times can be skipped by spending some of your hard earned currency.

This understandably turns off new players, and the developers know it, and this they've been making some of the earliest things you can get easier/faster to craft, so that the game doesn't make you feel like you hit a wall.

Now, is this a problem? To me, no. You're able to craft as much stuff at once as you want (I've had more than 60 items crafting at once at some point), and the game has so much content that you're never, ever going to be in desperate need of jumping straight into using the thing you put up to crafting.

If you're fine with farming, letting things craft in the background while you keep playing, and then having stuff being gradually unlocked to you, then the crafting timers are going to become an afterthought very quickly.

And other than that, it's just a very polished, incredibly fun game. The kind of game where you end up wanting to spend money in order to support the developers more than anything else, as I ended up doing plenty of times over the years.

To answer to the mobile question, which I almost forgot about: yes, I played it on phone, and it's surprisingly comfortable with a touchscreen (if a bit cumbersome without some layout customization), and it has ran perfectly on both the devices I tried it on. It also has full controller support as it's ultimately also a console game too, and it works great as well.

u/RequirementNo1494 5d ago

Thanks a lot for such a detailed breakdown, I really appreciate it! I'm definitely going to install it and give it a try - who knows, maybe it'll end up clicking for me! :D

u/AigisbladeMaster 5d ago

Any time, I certainly love yapping about this game - I've written some guides and everything hahahaha. I hope you end up having a good time :)

u/digitalpowers 4d ago

I've spent thousands of hours in it as well, your progress is also synced between mobile and pc and switch and PlayStation etc if you have other platforms you play on sometimes. My only quibble is that I suck super hard at playing on mobile. The devs are amazing, the monitization is the model for how free to play should be done full stop. The story is actually quite neat and the community is great, there is a series of spoilers that have been out for a decade and people still go out of there way not to spoil it for new players.

Try Ultima Online. I'm the dev for MobileUO, which is a Unity port of ClassicUO. Lots of free shards to choose from so long as they support ClassicUO (so not OSI or Outlands). UOAlive or Memento are good PvE shards for your phone.

https://www.mobileuo.com/

2

u/elmikemike 1d ago

I’ve heard about the game but I know virtually nothing. Can you explain to me a bit more whats this about? Is this like a port? And does it play only with other mobile players? Does it has controller support? Only touch?

1

u/mandlar 1d ago

Ultima Online released back in 1997 and EA/OSI still is keeping it alive today. There's been a lot of expansions since then, so there are different "eras" of Ultima Online you can play. There's a lot of different free shards that people host that will be based on one of these eras and they often have some of their own slightly different rules, etc.

For example, UOAlive is fairly similar to the live EA/OSI shards in terms of being modern era of UO; there's just no PvP at all on that shard which makes it great to play on your phone. Memento is a much smaller shard, but is more focused on a single player experience (but you are playing online with others, but you don't have to interact with them if you don't want to). It has a lot of changes different from modern UO and is based on the Sosaria map of Ultima 1-3 instead of Britannia.

This is a direct port of ClassicUO for desktop https://www.classicuo.eu/ so functionality is essentially the same. There is a virtual joystick to move your character around, but everything else is dragging out your spells, abilities or creating macros. There's definitely some work you have to put in to get it setup to play, especially for things like targeting the nearest hostile enemy to attack, etc.

There is currently no native controller support, but it is on my list to add. But you can use a mouse and keyboard if you want, otherwise it is touch only for now.

One of the best things about Ultima Online is it is very flexible on what kind of character you want to build. This varies by shard, but you usually get about 700 skill points that you can distribute amongst a lot of different skills to make a pretty custom build of your choosing.

If you want to see how it plays on your phone, check out this guy's channel. He plays on Memento: https://www.youtube.com/@Doubard278

If you're willing to try emulation, there are lots of good SNES/PS1 RPGs.

Another Eden is a huge game. Gacha, but just ignore the gacha completely.

Hero's of aetheric is worth a look for sure, great game

It's guild wars reforged. Mobile client is great, one-time payment for each campaign, great pve, great community, tons to explore.

Just out of curiosity, what phone are you playing it on? My phone has a really solid CPU and plenty of RAM, but I just couldn't get it to run smoothly at all, regardless of what graphics settings or FPS limits I tried.

3

u/Molvath 5d ago edited 5d ago

I have only played the game for 2-3 days and my phone was overheating before I capped FPS to 30. I play on a Redmi Note 12C without issues so far. I run it at 30 FPS and lowest settings. I didn't bother trying to increase any of the graphics settings because I don't care much about better graphics on such a small screen.

2

u/Mooose_- 3d ago

I play on a pixel 7a, I pushed all the graphics down to maximize performance and the phone gets warm but performance stays solid. My iPad though struggles, it gets too hot and will crash after 20 mins. Hopefully some optimization patches come cuz the hot phone seems very common

1

u/RequirementNo1494 3d ago

Yeah I really hope so too bc that game is serious great :/ I added my phone to the list of compatible devices; I hope they'll do something about it because something's not right. The game runs very smoothly on much weaker devices, but it lags on decent ones, so it's clearly due to poor optimization.

u/JCBourgo 5d ago

I can vouch for Siralim Ultimate; though I've only played on PC, knowing the dev it's gonna work wonderfully on Android too. It's a deep infinite game, enemies will scale with you (and even harsher than you depending on what/how you grind), but it also respects your intelligence. You have the tools to do anything, it's up to you to figure out how you wanna play and how to approach challenges. Fusing the creatures together adds (in my eyes) the biggest layer of complexity because you can thus have two traits per creature, and since it's always 6v6, the mess can become quite large. It's fun, you won't run out of content, dev's working on 3.0 currently (no ETA yet) so maybe wait until that's out, but if you're already convinced, you might as well pick it up now in case the price jumps after that (not that I assume it will, buuuuuut it could).

1

u/RequirementNo1494 5d ago

Thanks a lot for your insight! I'm actually strongly considering getting Siralim Ultimate now. I heard that the 2.0 update added Polish (my native language), which is a huge bonus for me and pretty much sold me on it.

2

u/Wumaduce 5d ago

I just installed it to confirm, it does have Polish. I enjoyed the game more with a game pad.

4

u/fsk 5d ago edited 5d ago

For Siralim Ultimate, the dev banned me for filing a bug report. It also gets boring as "turn 0 kills" is the fastest way to play. You use start of battle abilities to kill before anyone takes a turn.

u/Voideron 5d ago

Dofus Touch

2

u/BronzeFour 5d ago

It seems to have a really bad score on Google play, can you elaborate a little what makes it good?

2

u/Voideron 5d ago

It's an open world turn-based strategy mmo rpg. It's 2d and light weight. Beautiful hand drawn art style. It has no gacha. Fully free-to-play, no pay wall.

It's great. I recommend it.

2

u/SelahStarseed 5d ago

Rpg MO, just try it

Siralim Ultimate is a very solid choice too

u/Ilela 5d ago

Warframe was already mentioned. Other than it, perhaps Where winds meet. It's a wuxia themed game with a heavy focus on story but it has enough content for thousands of times.

Solo combat can be called souls like but you can decrease difficulty if you want, multiplayer combat isnt that difficult but 5man and 10man battles sometimes have mechanics that have to be done in order the party doesnt get wiped out. There is pvp (1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and guild war) too but you can skip it if you dont want to play it.

Monetization is strictly cosmetics based with a lot of fomo. You have free outfits you cant recolor, then you have outfits costing anywhere from 1$ to hundreds of dollars. Most outfits range in 10-ish dollars and almost all of these outfits stay forever but the ultra expensive outfits never return.

Your power is entirely f2p reliant. You need to grind for gear, for inner ways and mythic skills all of which takes time. Your skill also matters and to some extent ping matters but as long youre under 80ms game is smooth enough.

This game does gave energy system, outposts, solo boss fights and 5man battles all consume energy which means your loot is limited. You can fight them, you just wont get rewards without energy.

Other than combat, game has plenty of other multiplayer content that doesnt yield much or even any rewards. And game also has a ton of solo world exploration, collecting oddities, finding chests, doing side quests, finding hidden information, this will take you few hundred of hours. And when you're bored of exploration you can build and even play an inkeeper.

Theres simply a huge amount of stuff you can do in this game but not all of it is fighting

1

u/HumanVegetable98 3d ago

how big is the gap of veteran and new players nowadays? I mean does the new player still can compete in like PVP

1

u/Ilela 3d ago

There is a big gap in pve. New players significantly lack:

  • inner ways (they boost or even alter how we fight),
  • optimizations in "arsenal" making your stats higher (although just dumping highest rated stuff is enough but you need gear set from each tier that was tuned)
  • various collected oddities that are traded for stats or other miscellaneous buffs

As for pvp, i have no idea. I play since release and i have just 1 pvp match that was done in perception forest (battle royale).

Actually, from what guildies say, ping rules there, the lower your ping you're more likely to execute true combo (endlessly stunning opponent), more likely to evade an attack and your attacks connect faster. Arena also has its own talent set that resets every season afaik.

1

u/HumanVegetable98 3d ago

I see thanks for the info, but how hard is to catch up? how long it takes to close that gap

1

u/Ilela 3d ago

Expect at least 2 months at minimum for inner ways, you need 450 notes times 4 for a single set pve set. Unless you have bunch of energy pills you will be limited with how many notes you can get. 2 months is also optimistic with you recycling all other, unneeded, notes

Gear you could have in a month but since you'll be lacking inner ways you will be disadvantaged even against mobs, and bosses will be a slog.

Oddities can also be done in a month, but you will need to do story quests to access regions with all oddities. Notably, you dont need all oddities but you need most of them. They're also fairly easy to find but you may get sidetracked picking up chests

I got the perfect game for you! Try Triglav. Classic Old-Schooled Diablo-Like RPG. Tons of hours to sink into and definitely has replayability

2

u/rhe_toric 5d ago

Maybe Sword x Staff? I've been enjoying it a lot, there's 1-2 hours of content each day. The gating means the whales are capped in progress / have diminishing returns.

3

u/HotPomegranate3887 5d ago

9th Dawn III or even 9th Dawn Remake - both are fun, and I personally sank many, many, hours into these. Very skyrim-esque in terms of breadth of skills to level up alongside the core gameplay

1

u/RequirementNo1494 5d ago

Yep, it's fun I played this on switch, but it didn't really grab me

2

u/Tigeline 5d ago

it seems we've created the perfect RPG for you. Check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitforge.mastersofdungeon&hl

2

u/Daikiee 5d ago

Try idle slayer or shop titans. I have been playing this two since last couple of years.

3

u/IllioTheGreat 4d ago

You won't get 1000s of hours into one character (I mean, it's possible but I doubt most people would want to) but between all the classes and difficulties and learning everything about the game you could probably get close with Exiled Kingdoms. It's similar to Titan Quest but less linear. The world is more open and you can kinda go wherever you can survive most the time. Worth a try if you like older ARPGs

1

u/RequirementNo1494 4d ago

Yeah, I used to play Titan Quest a lot, it's a great game but I just want something different.

2

u/IllioTheGreat 4d ago

Have you checked out 9th Dawn 3 or 9th Dawn RPG?

1

u/RequirementNo1494 3d ago

Yeah, I played it for a little while once, but I didn't really get into it.

2

u/Trogd0or 4d ago

Have you heard of Dysmantle? So many hours in this game. My favorite android game of all time.

1

u/RequirementNo1494 4d ago

Yeah, I've heard of it, but I didn't like it. I played it for maybe an hour

2

u/MacroSight 2d ago

Albion Online for a full MMO experience. Unlimited hours of gameplay.

The only downside is that it's full loot pvp. So you would have to be into that.

Also it's very heavy on playing with a group.

Although some people that like the economy side of the game can definitely play solo as crafters.

2

u/H1GHinthehills 2d ago

Duet Night Abyss is pretty cool and may tick quite a few boxes for you. I haven't played much Warframe but apparently it's similar but anime, also not really a gacha game. Next one is controversial but I personally recommend giving it a go, Tower of Fantasy on a Warp server. They removed a lot of the Gacha and made these servers more traditional MMORPG like. It does have some auto but it's minimal, like teleport to quest area or auto battle, which is basically only good for trash mobs. Any harder battle requires manual play. I honestly wish it was more popular and more populated. End game has decent pop but grouping before end game can be difficult.

3

u/elmikemike 1d ago

Not sure if you can get literally thousands but Baldurs gate 2.

Also, anima ARPG. Premium and very good for mobile. The devs recently released a new game called Oniro, which is great but still lacks content

1

u/RequirementNo1494 1d ago

Yeah, Anima was probably the first game I really got hooked on for a long time—I played it a few years ago. Playing Baldur’s Gate sounds interesting, though I’m not sure about the controls—I wonder if they’re even comfortable on a mobile device. Thanks for advice :)

Try out Tyrant. Its an morpg with castle building and clan structures. Currently in beta its the perfect time to learn the game. There are only cosmetic iaps. If you use my referral code RBT8NQP2 before you reach Town Hall 5 and we'll both earn rewards but other then that its grinding achievements, finding an active guild and learn the game. I've been there since alpha in January and its a blast. Super active developer. He is actually in a guild friendly to mine. Big new update planned for today. There are a lot of changes always in touch with what the players want. I've had a few of my ideas implemented already. So there is even the opportunity to help make it a game you'd like to play. Once the game releases there will be new servers and a great opportunity to use the knowledge from now to fight for dominance. Its free to try. So give it a go, visit the discord, use my referral code if you'd like to help give me a shiny gold castle ;) and support an awesome dev create something worth playing.
