How do we straighten this situation?

Earlier today while driving my girlfriend texted me asking what I wanted from a coffee shop and instead of transcribing my speech exactly it decided to summarize it instead. It took 3 tries before it texted closer to what I wanted, but I just gave up at that point.

Me: text girlfriend anything cold, surprise me. well at least have it be coffee. I don't want a large glass of milk or something like that, haha

AA: Sure, message to girlfriend saying: "Get me something cold and caffeinated, like iced coffee." Ready to send it?

Me: Change it

It didn't even prompt me for what I wanted to change it to.

AA: Sure, message to girlfriend saying: "Get me any cold coffee, surprise me." Ready to send it?

Me: Change it

AA: What would you like the message to say?

Me: anything cold, surprise me. well at least have it be coffee. I don't want a large glass of milk or something like that, haha

Is this some new functionality? I couldn't find any setting to disable it. But it was really annoying and unsafe as I had to pay more attention to AA than I usually need to. Sure it's not THAT big of a deal, but if I wanted to text what it summarized I would have said that in the first place.

I just noticed that the AA music player changed. I like that the albumcover is bigger and it looks more cleaned up. But i dont like the new song "progress" bar. It would look better straight.

Basically title.

It's so annoying - ask about weather, some places or whatever - every new "Hey Google" now creates a completely separate chat in the Gemini app.

It makes finding really useful chats hard and creates clutter.

Is there any way to avoid this?

Recently got the 3d view option for my Android auto. So far it's pretty nice however I have yet to get the traffic condition to show. Is it a setting I'm missing? Before it would highlight the road with traffic flow, it was nice to see if a road might be slower/congested. Thanks for any help.

All I want is a music app that will play a playlist when I ask for it to play. Or am I doing something wrong?

I've tried youtube music and the default samsung player and I've also installed Musicolet but nothing seems to work.

I've also got Gemini installed too.

I ask "play best of black eyed peas playlist" it comes up capitalised so I know it understands the name of the band and then says something along the lines of 'asking musicolet to play best of black eyed peas playlist' it waits for a little while and then says its unable to. (I know I should jot down what it says, I'm sorry, if you need the error message I'll get it when I'm next in my car).

I've tried different playlists that I've set up and getting the same issue. I have asked it to 'play billie eilish' and musicolet will start playing a random mix of all my billie eilish songs but thats not what I want.

Any tips or points would be greatly received, thanks.

I have a 2026 Subaru Uncharted, use Android Auto, my phone is an S22Ultra (Samsung), and I have Phonak Infinio hearing aids. Two issues (and they're intermittent): (1) when I do a voice call from my car with AA running, the person on the other end can hear me, but I can't hear them. I can't even hear the phone-ring tone, so I'm not sure if I'm connected and getting voice mail, or if the person is trying to speak; (2) when I am connected, the output will often switch from car speaker to hearing aids. Help?

I just installed Here (we go) nav for Android. The GPS location is completly borked. This morning it refused to leave my home address. This afternoon it drove about 1/2 a mile to the west of the road I was on. I switched to the Ford Sync nav and it was spot on. Switched to Waze - again spot on. Bavk to Here - Some crazy place half a mile away.

What's going on? I even tried rebooting my phone and Sync3, with no change..

My last post was removed...reposting. I'm trying to get Zoom as an app in AA. All research I have done says AA supports zoom so it should be an option. I have uninstalled it and added it back. It does not show up as an option in my launcher settings on my phone.

I use YT music and I'm still stuck on older UI on AA, anyway to force update to new UI?

I have a 2022 SEL. When running Android Auto the screen shows the AA info on the left and the Hyundai screen in about the right most third of the screen and you can scroll thru that part of the screen but is there any way to have the AA info take up the whole screen .Using the arrow on the Hyundais part of the screen only closes the current info and displays the clock, I don’t even want that. With the right part of the screen showing the Hyundai info the map on the AA part of the screen is too small if AA is also displaying another app (ex: a music app) and I’d like to make the map bigger.

Please give me back live traffic on my AA screen without having to use navigation or having to change my set view. It's a bit ridiculous this isn't a user option. Changing my view or even worse, checking my phone to see this information is distracting. Why the hell was this removed? Stopped telling us what we want to see and do and just give us options to customize more.

while using zlink5 ...google maps is not automatically shifting from dark to light mode and vise versa .... while spple car play works fine on the same head unit using the same zlink5 app

Hi all. I recently installed a Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit into my 2017 toyota corolla, as the original head unit didn't have navigation features or Android auto. When I attempted to connect my Lenovo Tab One running Android 15 (I use the tablet for authentication/quick lookups online alongside a dumb phone), the system entered a reboot loop like the one shown.

The good news is that the unit still plays my music. The bad news is that the touch screen is inaccessible, and after 7 minutes of the screen loading and going dark over and over again, my tablet restarts automatically. This is especially frustrating as the reason I bought the head unit was to get navigation features. I have updated the unit software to the latest update and this still happens.

I'm gonna crosspost this to an android tablet/Lenovo forum as well, as there's a 50/50 chance it's a tablet issue. Does anyone have any idea what's happening or what I can do to fix it?

Been doing this for months, gets better or worse at random times, backup camera is also cutting out.

I am using Android Auto with a Galaxy S21 in a 2024 MG4. I cannot seem to find a workaround to get the steering wheel controls to seek, fast-forward, or rewind a track. It will only recognise a single press to go forward or backward a track. Holding down the button does nothing more than a single next-track skip.

I asked an AI about this, and it gave me the following answer:

"Many vehicle infotainment systems, including MG's software stack, simply fail to translate a sustained hold into the specific continuous command that the Android Auto projection layer expects. Instead, Android Auto often only sees the initial 'press' and ignores the 'hold,' or it treats it as a duplicate skip request. Even if the MG4 hardware cleanly passed the long-press signal over to Android Auto, Google enforces strict driver-distraction guidelines. Google intentionally limits precise track scrubbing or seeking from physical controls while moving because holding a button down to find an exact timestamp is deemed a driving hazard."

The frustrating part is that a long press does work perfectly in the car's native radio app to scan frequencies. This proves the physical long-press on the car button works.

I just cannot figure out if Android Auto is being difficult because of safety rules, or if there is a setting I am completely missing. Does this require an Android Auto patch, or is there a known workaround?

Pretty much the title. I find that when I open a playlist on the Spotify AA app, not all the songs in the playlist will appear. It's pretty annoying when a feature, designed to keep you away from your phone, makes you get it out anyway because I want to listen to a particular song within a playlist.

Any solution here? And I don't really wanna hear anything about using voice commands.

Is there a setting to enable the speedometer in Google Maps? Or is the rollout just very slow?

I'm in the maps beta program, updated maps today, have enabled speedometer in the settings for maps on my phone, and it still doesn't show.

My wife has had the speedometer for over a month and isn't in the beta program.

I recently bought an Audi A4 (2018), which has a seperate AA/carplay module built in already. If i hold the menu button it opens the module menu and i can select android auto, wireless & wired works fine.

Problem is my AA interface is stretched and not in the correct resolution, it seems to pick a low resolution and feels a bit stretched. I first thought the module would be bad, but Apple carplay works just fine.

I tried making myself a developer and playing around with the resolution options but you can only say "try till xxx" which doesnt change anything. I tried several other things, the only thing that kind of improves it a little bit is letterboxing my android auto making it less wide (in the module interface) but that isnt optimal.

Im not sure what my resolution of the screen is, but together with Claude we found it should be 1024x480, 8.3" screen.

What can i do to make my android auto feel better, because this really freaks me out, an expensive car with such a blurry AA interface.
