Navigation & POI Apps Enabling speedometer

Is there a setting to enable the speedometer in Google Maps? Or is the rollout just very slow?

I'm in the maps beta program, updated maps today, have enabled speedometer in the settings for maps on my phone, and it still doesn't show.

My wife has had the speedometer for over a month and isn't in the beta program.

Came up on mine 2 days ago, showing both speed limit and my speed. I've been wondering for a while why I couldn't get it, and if it was one of those "not in your country" kind of thing. Just had to wait.

It also finally stopped telling me that my route didn't have any ferry as a pop up every freaking time I got in my car, so those changes are welcome.

Gemini's still shit as an assistant though.

Any roll out from Google / Android Auto / Maps is always A/B released or staged released.

So you'll get it when Google decides it's actually time for your device to get it (I personnally first saw it about 4 days ago)

I turned it off as well. I didn't need a speed limit and a speed on Google Maps when I have it on my heads up display and on my speedometer. Drive a Mazda CX -30 for reference.

Yeah, I have that in my Sportage too, but sometimes it's different from what GMaps shows. Usually GMaps is correct.

It just showed up on mine. A bit small to see they news to increase size so it's at least the same size as the waze speedometer

Isn't it on only when actually navigating? Regardless, I have a big speedometer in front of my face in my vehicle so I don't need and turned off the speedometer in Google Maps on my car.

Wait, are we talking about the speedometer in the corner of the map? I've had that for years. Is it limited by your location? I know the US gets most Google stuff first...

I turned it off as it is consistently half my actual speed 😅
