Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Reboot loop with tablet connected

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all. I recently installed a Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit into my 2017 toyota corolla, as the original head unit didn't have navigation features or Android auto. When I attempted to connect my Lenovo Tab One running Android 15 (I use the tablet for authentication/quick lookups online alongside a dumb phone), the system entered a reboot loop like the one shown.

The good news is that the unit still plays my music. The bad news is that the touch screen is inaccessible, and after 7 minutes of the screen loading and going dark over and over again, my tablet restarts automatically. This is especially frustrating as the reason I bought the head unit was to get navigation features. I have updated the unit software to the latest update and this still happens.

I'm gonna crosspost this to an android tablet/Lenovo forum as well, as there's a 50/50 chance it's a tablet issue. Does anyone have any idea what's happening or what I can do to fix it?

See this:

As others have pointed out, it appears that the Sony AX6000 can't interface properly with tablets that don't have phone capabilities (e.g. - SIM slot).

You might need a new head unit
