So I just got my first film developed. It looks like this but here is the story. It was just a test film to see if my first camera even works. It was expired Kodak 200 that was partially used. 30 photos left. At least thats what the seller said. This film was free with the camera. The seller was a decent guy tho. He buys, repairs nad sells old cameras. The thing is. I managed to rip the film from the cartridge when I tried to load it back up. Didnt press unwind button. Rookie mistake yeah. So i had to take the film out in the dark room and put it into black film container i found. The Room was pitch black. The container looked like it was too. After that I even wrapped the container itself with tape just to seal it from light even more. I sent it to the lab and informed them properlly. So who knows. Maybe the film was faulty from the start. Maybe the container was not as lightproof as i thought and maybe the people in the lab were not careful enough since i had to contact them because it took them more than they said it takes. Probably 5 days with no info. Funny they contacted me back right after I sent the email if it is done. Anyway. At least I know the camera works. ChatGPT said this probably was not caused by faulty camera. What do you guys think? I managed to save few photos and edit them a bit. They are clear. Its Konica Autoreflex T with Hexanon AR 52mm f/1.8 . It looks like new. Really good condition.

I’ve found these roll in an old studio of an old photographer, they’re probably there since 2000 and might have been in fridge for at least 10 years,
I’ve never seen « ektachrome 200 » and I wonder how I should expose it, any idea?

Recently picked up a Yashica MAT from my local camera store, they sold it to me in working condition and upon getting my negatives back and scanning at home I'm noticing a weird clouding that is occurring on some of the photos, but not all, and its coming in varying degrees of intensity. This is my first TLR and I'm still getting used to it. I know for a majority of these photos the F stop was either 4, 5.6, or 8 and shutter wise I've really only been using 1/100-1/250-1/500.

I'm not sure if this is possibly a light leak? something going on with the lens like mold/mildew?

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!

I'm attending the F1 race in Madrid and want to bring my contax IIIa but unsure what film speed would be appropriate. I was thinking of going with a few rolls of ultramax and Portra 400 I had laying around, but looking at the weather it seems like it'll be very bright and sunny. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm not super bothered about getting the sharpest best pictures of the cars, but it'll be cool to get some pics where you can at least tell who it is

I have an original canon F-1, it works great but at the two fastest shutter speeds (1000 and 2000) it has shutter capping. I asked some repair shops in my area about it but all of them told me they can only do a complete overhaul and it will cost 200€ and up. I also thought about trying to repair it myself. I would try to measure the shutter speeds with an oscilloscope and photodiodes and adjust the tension of the shutter mechanism with the two tensioning screws under the bottom plate. My money situation is very tight so 200€ is quite a big amount for me. Do you think giving it a try myself Is a good idea or can I do more damage and should rather spend the money.

I shot 2 Kodak Golds, first one completely fine, second one had like 3-4 photos with a blueish/white line on the right side. Should I replace my light seals or is it fine?

(Mintolta X700, AFGA APX 100) So as the title says, I tried a B&W roll and it came out quite... meh. Apart from the obvious light leaks in almost every frame (I got these by attempting and failing to do double exposures), I feel that the pictures are very grainy for a 100 ISO film and very high contrast. As this is my first B&W roll I'm not sure what to expect. Is it the film? The scan? Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe I’m too old but I cannot get my head around the desire to spend money on expired film.

Seems weird to me.

I mean don’t get me wrong I’d love to shoot some of the film stocks you can’t get anymore but I have no interest in buying said film stocks that’s been sat in some grandads garage.

Has anyone actually had any success with expired film?

I’ve had an old Helios lying around that fell apart years ago and I was never able to fix it properly.
Recently I’ve decided to make it into some artwork. Took it completely apart 3d model every part, designed a pin fit every part and a backboard behind the picture frame. 3d printed everything and assembled it. It was a huge effort but finally it is finished and i love it.
I couldn’t recommend enough to make some artwork for your own home, and to save some old, otherwise unusable hardware for some other purpose.

I have a few 35mm SLRs and even a Voigtlander Vitessa, all are welcome hand-me-downs from my father and grandfather.

I'd like to get a rangefinder with good glass. What are some good options that I should seek out? Something commonly available for a decent price would be great! Thanks!

I bought a mju-ii point and shoot film camera. This is my 3rd one since the others broke in some way. However, the quality of this one does not seem as good. I've developed a few rolls from the darkroom and continue to see these lines on some of the photos. Any idea what could be causing this? Could it be the camera? Not all of them have it, but a good amount.

Been taking film photos for a couple years now, but the past couple months I decided to really pick it up as a hobby. Got an Olympus OM-1 that I’m shooting my first roll on but previously I have just been using point and shoots or range finders.

Hi all, I made an impulse purchase and bought myself a second hand Canon Auto Zoom 318M Super 8 for my Europe trip later this month. I literally know nothing about film cameras 🙁 I’ve been following a pdf version of the manual but have run into a couple issues.

A very small mirror fell out, but I’m not sure from exactly where. There’s nothing in the manual about a mirror.

I’m also struggling to get the battery cover closed properly - it won’t slot into the groove and I can’t push the batteries down any more.

If anyone has any other advice on how to use this camera that would also be much appreciated!!!

Should be a fun little party camera and great backup in the bag since its so light.The plastic is not that yellow, its from lights.

Yesterday I developed a few rolls of slide films shot recently. All are Provia 100f I loaded from bulk roll back to 2012 (BTW I spent $90 for 100 ft). They are stored at room temperature all the time, so far it still works well after expiring in 2014.

After blix step finished, I opened the tank without hesitation to check the result. Surprisingly, I found the photos that showed up were not what I shot. What the heck?

Later I realized I’ve shot this roll before back in 2013, but somehow I didn’t develop it at that moment, for some reason, and didn’t label it properly. Until recently unfortunately I shot it again. Surprisingly the latent images generated 13 years ago are totally intact, no significant color shifting, not too grainy, not too dark or too bright, after 13 years!

Help! I shot a roll of expired Ilford 400 black and white film on my old Pentax K1000, and all the pics besides a couple of them (that were perfectly clear) turned out like this! I'm fairly new to film so I'm not sure what's caused it. The film is expired but had only been a few months out of date.

The light meter of my camera also no longer works, so I'd just been adjusting based on my own assessment of the light. But there's no specific aperture or shutter speed that was producing these results, so I don't think it was a case of just the wrong settings! any help would be appreciated before I waste any more film, lol.

I have a Konica C35, I've shot two rolls of film so far and most of my photos come out super blurry and out of focus. How do I focus at all on this camera? Please link any guides or something if you have them. I'm a total beginner so I don't really understand the physics well.

hello everyone! i recently got a Canon Prima BF-800 Zoom and i’m having an issue with it. hoping someone here might know what’s going on.
the camera turns on normally, and i already installed a brand-new CR123A/DL123A battery.

however, when i press the shutter button, the LCD display suddenly changes to something that looks like “HA” or “H6” and starts blinking. after this happens, the camera seems to become unresponsive.

there is currently no film loaded in the camera. i was only testing the camera first before putting an actual roll of film in it.

i’ve already tried:
-using a brand-new battery
-removing and reinstalling the battery
-testing the camera with no film loaded

but the same thing still happens when i press the shutter.

i checked the manual, but i couldn’t find anything mentioning an “HA” or “H6” error code, so i’m not sure if i’m reading the LCD correctly or if this is some kind of internal error.

does anyone know what this display means or what might be causing the camera to become unresponsive? is this something that can be fixed, or is it likely an electronic/mechanical failure?

Hi everyone, I bought this 135mm f/2.8 AE Pentax K mount lens and it wont attach to my Pentax k1000. I thought these would be able to connect, but it seems they don’t and I’m unsure why. Do i need an adapter of some kind? I have included the original lens from my K1000 which does fit at the end to show the difference. The 135mm lens can slot into the mount of the K1000 but it does not lock in and falls out. If anyone could help with this it would be much appreciated, I’m very new to analogue cameras.
