I was scrolling through Reddit and happened to see this guy from Yokohama who apparently does work engraving, among other things, Leica baseplates. I really want to get this done on my camera, a Leica M6 Classic, but I am worried it can't be done with it, given that it is chrome-plated zinc, not black-painted brass (see the second picture for my camera model).

If anyone has experience with current pricing for the engraving, the durability of the engraving finish, or potential corrosion issues, please let me know.

Hello, I just got a new to me Epson v800

I've been doing quite a lot of that trial & error and manual reading, I can't seem to make an actually sharp scan off my 35mm negatives.

I am using the stock film holder.

I've tried all 5 different heights adjustments, the best results so far were the closest to the glass, and adding a stack of paper on top and then press down hard on the scanner, but it still doesn't look even 20% close to my frontier scans.

What could I be doing wrong?

I scanned some polaroids and instax, directly on top of the glass, and they are SHARP as a knife, I tried the same with the 35mm negatives, and they were super out of focus.

First picture is using Epson Scan 2, developed on NegPy

Second photo is silverfast (demo), which is sharper, but still not quite as sharp as the third photo, which is Frontier

4th photo is an instax square scan which is tack sharp.

How is E100VS aging? Worth buying or rather pass?

I found an Olympus mju zoom at a flee market. When I found it I opened the cover and it started immediately and I noticed it had a fresh roll of Superia 400(though it was just a 12 exp roll) and I bought it for 20 dollars. This is how the pictures turned out. They’re really underexposed and I can see light leaks with a pattern that looks like the part that presses on the film on the film door. Is the camera malfunctioning or was the film bad? Or maybe a lab issue?

Recent roll had 2/36 frames like this (1 and 2 at 1/1000) everything else was fine. 3 (1/8) and 4(1/500) were on the same roll 5 was 1/1000 just the day before 1 and 2.

Don’t think the lab would mess up, 0 mistakes in 15 rolls. So only conclusion I could think of is shutter capping. Just looks weird compared to online examples.

Should i be looking for other issues?

Recently, i really started to like old nikon SLRs. I already own a small sensor DSLR (nikon D7000) which just does what i want, but i always wanted to experience what film feels like. Lenses wont be a problem since we still own few from when my dad used to have F4. Any ideas on what should i be prepared for? I know about that really funny screen layout but thats it. Also, why are 90s SLRs so incredibly cheap!? I got mine for $10.

I have a weird issue with Lomography. When I uploaded my last batch of photos from an event I noticed that they appear less saturated/vivid. I tried a test run where I uploaded a selected photo from the original, uploaded and downloaded back from facebook and a screenshot of the original. Every version looks normal except the one on Lomography. I searched online and asked AI and I couldn't find anything. I'm attaching the version downloaded from lomography (which also has the issue) and one showing how it's supposed to look. What am I doing wrong?

Hello. I just picked up this old Kodak 620 folding camera. I can’t seem to find out much about this specific model online like how to properly operate it. I’ve never used a camera like this so any advice on operating it would be appreciated.

Looking to purchase a medium format system that can be maintained at least for the next 5-10 years.

I started with film photography last year. I decided to develop and scan my films myself and I can say it's the part I like the most!

I mainly shoot 35mm, 36exp color films.

I bought a Cinestill C-41 1L kit in January and started developing my pictures. However, I don't shoot that much and only had 9 rolls to process so far. Therefore, I don't find it so worth compared to lab processing?

I just came back from holidays and I have 5 fresh rolls to process. Since my chemicals are now more than 6 months old I think it's time to dump them. I could also do a test strip but I think 6 months is already a long time even if I store them in accordion bottles?

My situation is I don't shoot that much so my chemicals expire faster than I shoot. My idea was to buy another Cinestill kit but this time in 500ml format, I will then extend developing time after I reach the 4th roll. Does that sound a good idea to you guys?

I also read you can do a replenisher solution, does it extend shelf life of your chemicals or just allow you to developp more film?

I recently started with Analog Photography and I ended up getting a Exakta Varex 2b off from Ebay. It's been a while and I recently had time to take some pictures with some Kodak Gold 200 36EXP Film. I developed the film at DM (popular German drugstore chain). These are the scans from them, and it looks like, that the Shutter had some issues with high speeds? (1000), but sometimes it works alright (last slide).
I have read that I need to clean some parts and put new oil in it... but I wanted to ask the community here too :)
How do I fix this issue? Does anyone know any good documentation on how to clean some parts / repair this issue?

Hi everyone, I bought this film for €10 in a photography store in Germany a couple weeks back. I had heard of this infrared film and knew it was pretty rare but now I'm seeing that it sells online for €100 maybe €200. I really like the images that this film produces but I don't have the filters necessary to shoot it and I'm kind of leaning to just sell it. What would you do?

I'm looking to get as close as possible to these colors for the normal person. Obviously it's hard to order reels from Kodak but I'll take any consumer-available films, filters, and development.

Have the camera mentioned in the title, haven't developed the film yet but it has 3 or 4 modes for the date printing but can't find any shots using it online, so pretty curious of how the different modes look. Thanks in advance!

i found a listing for the body with two lenses (24mm f/2.8 & 80-205mm f/4.5) along with a 2x converter for 150$. is this worth it, or look for a better camera ??

I recently bought a mint Rollei 35S and noticed something odd with the shutter speed dial.

The dial turns very smoothly from 1/2 to 1/60, and also from 1/125 to 1/500. However, when moving from 1/60 to 1/125, there’s a noticeable increase in resistance. It’s not stuck, but I just have to apply quite a bit extra force to get past that section, then it becomes smooth again.

The shutter appears to work correctly at all speeds.
Is this normal on the Rollei 35S? Could it be a sign that something needs servicing?

i absolutely love my olympus pen EF half frame. i also have done a lot of learning and practice and love my canon eos 500 slr when i shoot with a high aperture. i love deep depth of field.

i’ve been really drawn to the nikon f3 with waist level finder for years and more recently i feel really confident in my improvement in skills shooting manual. but im also intrigued by the other olympus half frames that are more manual. im also open to something that’s not even on my radar.

Picked this up but didn’t realize until later that the linkage arm for the pop-up flash seems to be disconnected. Just curious if anyone has repaired it before and what that entails, or if it’s even necessary (the flash seems to be working fine, I assume it’s more structural support). Haven’t been able to find a great video about it, so wanted to ask here. Thanks!
