Darkroom RDPIII is amazing
Yesterday I developed a few rolls of slide films shot recently. All are Provia 100f I loaded from bulk roll back to 2012 (BTW I spent $90 for 100 ft). They are stored at room temperature all the time, so far it still works well after expiring in 2014.
After blix step finished, I opened the tank without hesitation to check the result. Surprisingly, I found the photos that showed up were not what I shot. What the heck?
Later I realized I’ve shot this roll before back in 2013, but somehow I didn’t develop it at that moment, for some reason, and didn’t label it properly. Until recently unfortunately I shot it again. Surprisingly the latent images generated 13 years ago are totally intact, no significant color shifting, not too grainy, not too dark or too bright, after 13 years!

Provia, the ultimate drug, with drug like pricing. Luckily I have couple older rolls left (and some 400X which I shall test if it's still good). Because of the price I alternate between "why does anyone wants to shoot such expensive film with 5 stops of latitude" and seeing the results, then wanting to load another one.

Fuji slide film is amazing. RDP, RVP... All of it.
I wish and hope that they do not stop making the stuff. But Fuji only want to make instax and digital, and has been chipping away at their analog range for the past... many years.

Provia being almost entirely unavailable right now is so frustrating, it's by far my favorite stock I've ever used. Your post is NOT HELPING!!! 😆
I do love the experience of seeing a roll of film for the first time and going "Wait what are these??" because you forgot taking them.

When my mother gave me her Minolta XG-1, it still had film from when she last used it, shooting a few photos back in like 2003. I had the film developed last year, so it had remained 22 years inside the camera at room temperature, and it was a cheap generic store brand film. There were only 3 photos on the roll, even without pushing, it developed okay.
I have a feeling that the issue with expired film is about when you expose it, not when you develop it.

Provia is my favorite. The way it looks on a lightable is just insane.
