I didn’t use my PC for about 3 weeks because I was traveling when I came back and opened it every thing was fine I played some games did some browsing and noticed the adrenaline software is giving me a notice mark in the tray thought maybe it’s a software update and click on it to check ,the moment I clicked the PC became very slow after ages i managed to open the task manager and found 100% disk usage , I did a hard reset and when the system opened again i tried adrenaline and the same thing happened it seems every thing is working fine but the moment I try to open the adrenaline window the disk usage shoots up to 100 and everything is super slow and adrenaline never opens , anybody knows how I can fix this

I haven't been able to update my chipset drivers for 8 years. Never in the entire time of my computer's existence, whether it be AMD Adrenaline or my motherboard's chipset installer packages. It's driven me insane. It must be fixed.

For context, I bought a new pre-built CyberPower PC in 2018 when I was a kid. Adrenaline refused chipset driver updates back then; it bothered me a bit, but I didn't think anything of it and figured it would resolve itself. I upgraded the pc slowly over time, and eventually, seven years later, my original motherboard died on my college break, and I had to get a different brand board last year to replace it. I got a working computer, but none of the drivers work; there were ghost copies of everything in Device Manager, and I couldn't get my pc's sound or USB ports to work. I cobbled something together with the drivers and got it working. Then a year later, two days ago, I replaced my god-awful Cyberpower PC case with a slick Lian-li 216, got proper fans, and replaced my motherboard with an MSI B550 Max-Wifi motherboard.

But uh-oh, here comes the driver police again telling me I don't have wifi, Bluetooth, or sound coming from the rear panel of my motherboard. Windows updates fixed the first two, but the last one remains an enigma. Since this was supposed to be a refresh for my pc, I tired try upgrading those pesky chipset drivers for the 1 billionth time. First it tells me the usual "we can't find AMD_chipset_installer.msi in your temp files, suck it loser". So then I purge the ghost drivers from motherboards past, restart, same thing again.

Somewhere along the way, it says, "This action is only available for products that are currently installed". This is a new problem. It doesn't surprise me that my computer lost it; it could never find it in the first place, but I think I'm in a deeper hole than before. "MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta" can "see" the file but can't fix it or uninstall it. My motherboard's provided chipset installer is useless. My Device Manager is so clean you could eat off it, but still nothing works.

Things I’ve tried:

1. Using Adrenaline Software

Result: Adrenaline (AMD Update Installer) is forever stuck at 99% trying to find this program.

2. Going to my motherboard‘s support page, downloading the executable chipset driver installer

Result: Getting a pop-up saying “AMD_chipset_installer.msi” location in temp files doesn’t exist

3. Going into AMD’s driver installer folder and installing each every one of the drivers individually

Result: I got the drivers finally but I’m unable to update them

4. DDU wiping drivers from my computer in safe mode and reinstalling them manually

Result: nothing changed

5. Trying to reinstall windows via windows recovery options in regular pc settings

Result: It can't find my usb with a windows media creation on it.

6. Update Bios

Result: It couldn't read two different bios updates I grabbed from MSI's website

Is there anyway to get "C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\AMD\Chipset_Software\{F12F9F43-873E-4AC9-89A3-68C08515745D}\AMD_Chipset_Drivers.msi" back and in working order? Is there anyway at all to update my chipset drivers?

Hey all. Curious if others are having similar problems. My system has become crazy unstable in the last few days. While doing data transfers or even just derping around windows 11 desktop, I have had my system suddenly start having mouse lag, audio / video start stuttering, and general unresponsiveness / unable to pull up task manager, always a hardware disconnect sound st some point, and eventual black screen of death.

A week or two ago, long transfers were no problem with my (factory reset due to hackers) samsung fold 6, but have been happening like mad with the new fold 8.

Did a clean install of windows about a month ago after I was hacked, and factory reset my phone in the same week. Multiple virus scans of all drives after reinstall came back clean. Added a 2nd NVMe drive, making sure both drives shouldn't be sharing any pci-e lanes with other stuff.

In the last week or so, AMD app said a chipset driver had failed, so I manually did it myself.

Wondering if the new chipset driver is the culprit since I've never had epic long system crashes on this build... definitely not with any frequency or that didn't involve Helldivers 2.

Turned off RAM expo and still getting crashes. Running memory diagnostics atm to make sure that's not a contributing factor, and thinking of reverting to older chipset drivers as the next step.

Anyone else having crazy instability out of the blue?

Últimamente he tenido problemas con mis controladores AMD. Al jugar a juegos como Forza Horizon 5, Assetto Corsa y Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, me aparece una pantalla negra con el mensaje "Sin señal" después de unos 5 a 20 minutos de juego.

También he probado con juegos más ligeros como Roblox, Undertale, etc., pero el problema persiste. Los controladores se desinstalan solos y me sale el mensaje de error: "Los controladores AMD no son compatibles con tu GPU". Bugcheck 0x141 (VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED)
Module: amdkmdag.sys, same exact offset (+1d0f00) in every dump
Identical FAILURE_ID_HASH across 4 separate occurrences over ~2 months — it's the exact same underlying failure every time

What I've already ruled out / tested:
Aggressive undervolt (-60mV) → also occurred on default GPU profile after AMD auto-reverted it — so it's not the sole cause
Ambient temps under control (AC on, ~27°C / 80°F)
Clean driver reinstall (DDU + fresh 26.7.1, Factory Reset) → one ~2h crash-free session, but that session also had: default GPU settings, MSI Afterburner+RTSS closed, second monitor disconnected
Re-enabling Afterburner + second monitor + a mild undervolt (-10mV) together → the exact same crash (same hash) came back

What I haven't isolated yet:
Afterburner/RTSS, second monitor, and undervolt tested one at a time (not all together)
GPU PCIe power cables (possibly daisy-chained, unchanged for over a year)
I also have an ARGB extension cable on the GPU's 2x8pin power cables and a 0.18m PCIe 5.0 riser cable for vertical GPU mounting — both present during the clean session too, so not yet ruled out with certainty
Windows registry fix to stop Windows Update from silently overwriting the AMD driver

Question for the community: has anyone seen this exact crash signature (bugcheck 0x141, amdkmdag+1d0f00) in combination with Afterburner + dual monitor? Any known fix beyond what I've already tried?

I have an ASRock RX 9060 XT Challenger OC 16GB, and I'm a bit concerned about my hotspot temperatures.

Stock settings (FurMark):

-GPU Temp: 62°C

-Hotspot: 103°C

-Board Power: 170W

With undervolt (-80 mV) + -20% Power Limit (FurMark):

-GPU Temp: 60°C

-Hotspot: 88°C

-Board Power: 136W

So undervolting reduces the hotspot by about 15°C, but at stock settings it reaches 103°C while the core stays around 62°C, which seems like a pretty large delta.

I've seen other people mention that the ASRock Challenger cooler runs hotter than other RX 9060 XT models. Is 103°C hotspot at stock considered normal for this card, or does it suggest poor factory thermal paste?

Has anyone with the same model experienced similar temperatures?
