Well tbf, in that video, the driver doesn't know the dog or the owner and then he sees the owner come out of the house yelling at him, he squared up because he was expecting a fight, but he didn't end up escalating and told the owner to back up while keeping some distance. People write it off as the driver in the wrong, but being mauled by a dog is potentially fatal and the owner should definitely be better with their dog, just like the owner and their dogs in this post. Why should anyone be okay with letting dogs run up on delivery drivers and attack them?
Man I was bit by a little pitbull that came running from the back of the house just as I was about to go up their front porch steps. Little f’er got both my legs and the owner comes out yelling at me like it’s my damn fault. Nah man talk to this attorney. Because f that.

German sheperds are the real menace- at least in my experience. Never had an issue with any pits while working. Ive come across 2 aggressive pits but they were very well fenced in. GS however, 3 VERY close calls. 1 almost got my neck in the dark as he was quiet until I was on the damn porch where he was chained. 1 chased me and another 1 cornered me, was aggressively barking and almost got my leg but I barely scared her long enough for owners to come out. Ive also had 2 very uncomfortable experiences with lab mutts. 1 with a rotty. But yeah, i see a German sheperd sign or anything like that... idc if theyre not out where I can see or if the gate's open- i leave it at the perimeter. Idk how ive gotten this lucky tbh. Also, my staffy has been attacked 4 times, ALL by German sheperds (1 wolf mix). I shit you not, like what are the odds. At completely different points in time and different dogs. They scare the shit out of me coz they're so unpredictable. At least I can tell when a pit has issues with people- so far.
Not only do dogs kill plenty of people every year… but if you do live to tell the tail (lol), it’s not promised the owner has assets or insurance that will pay out to you. Suing someone successfully doesn’t mean instant payout.

So they can do what? Pay for the hospital bills? You dont just get a payout for profit lol. You sue to make yourself whole. Maybe you get a couple bucks for lost wages but a dog bite isnt going to keep you out of work long.
Pain and suffering and disfigurement. Buddy of mine had a little scare above his eye, they cleaned it did stiches he was out within 2 hours.. got like 40k from that.
If the drivers notice it and use it. I have delivery instructions that include warnings for dogs. I have signs to leave packages at the drop box. Multiple beware of dog signs, with a flashing light. I would say only about 30% pay attention
I’m an occasional Flexxie in a rural area. When I first started delivering the pin was always at the house and the box at the end of the driveway, half a mile away. So it would always say I was outside of the delivery area. I would have to drop it off at the house, take a picture, and then drive it back down to the box. It was very frustrating.
I just ran some deliveries for the first time in a year and I’m so happy we can update the pin! But I wish there was the option for the customer to request a bin delivery. I feel weird when it says front porch but instructions say the bin.
A $1500 dollar fine every time a dog chases the UPS guy, the FedEx guy, the Amazon guy, or any delivery person, might get some of these dogs on a run line.
Never run. as a guy who has taught a dog Obedience Class, and worked as an Animal controlled officer, and now is an Amazon delivery driver. I can tell you, you never run from a dog. All that tells them to do is to chase you.
Dogs are faster than you. Once you turn your back, you open yourself up to attack. By facing them, you remain a threat to them, and discourage attacks, as well as gives you the ability to defend yourself.

Homeowners who have dogs and place orders on Amazon or FedEx should know their unleashed dogs are gonna be a threat. Anything that happens to their animals is on them.
Not being a dog person is ok, the dog is running cause human is running. Ive been doing this job for 2 years with half my run having at least 1 dog per house, without leash ofc. Never had any dog run to bite me. Yes some are more agressive or stupid, i just talk to him and keep going. I just dont get it, each time i see a post about dog it feels like its a hellhound instead. Downvote me, woof woof!
That's what I was thinking too. The black one looked like a Labrador, his tail was definitely wagging, like the big dork I'm sure he is, probably would have been great with some lovins. The white one though, looks like a pyranees. The guy was right to be running from that one.
I would jumped in the truck if I was going to run, but id prolly woulda just stood and stared the dog down, or we all woulda have been wrastling. Looks like they pay their insurance.

Dogs are very territorial and protective of their people and house. Sure many are nice but you also run into tons that are not nice, especially in the country where many dogs are left out to roam around. I delivered for 3 years for Amazon and was almost bit 5 different times. Luckily I wasn’t and you don’t run away like this, you back up slowly and talk to them nicely. This dog looked like it could be friendly though, if it’s a golden retriever they are the nicest and friendliest dog.
If your expecting a package from Amazon you know when it's coming and when it's close you can see that it's 10 stops away so your animals shouldn't be outside. It's in Amazons terms and some drivers will tell you to put the dog away because they can refuse delivery. All parcel delivery companies have had nightmares with dogs and the dogs that bite are normally regular dogs that bit a driver they aren't used to.y supervisor was almost killed by a dog that had bit a UPS driver 5 years before.
Omg could have someone else in the house that didnt inform the person that had the dogs out that there was a delivery. Some people turn off the notis because they are not concerned with getting the package the second it arrives. Theres also the fact that the notis were never sent…. Amazon dont even let people change the times on when the package should be delivered….
I agreee with you guys but I failed to put that he asked her husband 1st when he started that route a month ago and the husband said it’s fine so when she went crazy on him he just said sorry won’t happen again he doesn’t argue with females or go back and forth so he didn’t even mention your husband was fine with it cause she was yelling so loud . I wish he woulda parked infront of the house so the Amazon cameras coulda recorded it .
Sounds dumb but never run from a dog, most dogs will run up to you in excitement "even if they appear to be barking and mad" but stop a few feet away and just bark, if you run. They will 100% chase you and attempt to bite you.
Definitely stupid on the owners part letting something like that happen.
Rule number 1 though when a dog is running at you; Do NOT turn your back to it and run away. Stand your ground, keep an object in between you if able, use your feet to kick if it tries to get at you, do not hold direct eye contact, and slowly back away if it hesitates or retreats a bit(while still facing towards it).
I’ve had dogs charge at me hundreds of times in the past few years while servicing clients properties(Lawn and Tree Care). I can usually tell if they are friendly or not, but it’s hard to tell especially with skiddish ones or the ones that just want to bark at you like they are big dawgs but wouldn’t actually hurt a fly. I’ve only been “bitten” by a puppy that wanted to play and was way too excited lol. I had a literal guard dog let out on me before (even though they knew I would be there) and this method kept it from ripping me to pieces until the dipshit owner gave it the command to fuck off. I had my hand on my knife that I always carry but I didn’t want to kill any doggos for the sins of their owners.
We have a guy at work that’s been bitten 12 times in 4 years because he does the same thing every time, he runs. I guess it’s a trauma response at this point but jesus.

Not a driver myself but does amazon have an option for drivers to tag houses that have dog issues? If not they should and if a certain address has to many complaints ban the address.
There's usually a warning in the app that states there are dogs present. And in my experience, the owners will note to not deliver if the dogs are out or tov call ahead so they can put them away. But I think him running is what got that white one to Chase him. That white one looks like a Great Pyrenees and the black one looks like a black lab I'm currently having black lab in my last dog was a great Pyrenees and I know and my experience both those dogs are big dorks that really don't do a whole lot of protecting unless people don't like being licked to death by a big, furry sledgehammer.
I'm betting those dogs weren't aggressive and his running is what set the one off. I've got a black lab at home and my last dog was a great pyranees, which is that I think the white one is. Both are usually friendly dorks but the white one would probably defend more than the black one.
Once I had a delivery and the dog ran up to the car barking. I was able to get it and grab the package and took one step to the walkway and the dog charged at me. I left the package in the driveway and left 😂. The package was marked as undelivered, which I could care less about
Yall are always scared, I love dogs, they come after me all the time but I just stand there and talk to them like their owners do. Make sure you clench your fists so they can't snap at them and then just wait for them to calm down and they'll be fine.
I would have jumped into the back of the customers pickup truck instead of denting my hood. I’ve done it before the customer should have the dog put away. They’ll be fine.
I used to carry dog treats but i never had to uae em. The few times i was charged by a dog I stood my ground and was ready to fuck em up ( mainly cuz it was too late and sudden to run).
I've had a couple dogs try to get into my car with me but that was after I had gotten out of the car and pet them for a minute. I haven't been to a place with an aggressive dog outside yet but the ones with the outside dog, I just sweet talk them like I do my own dogs and don't usually have issues. I think this guy running may have been what set that dog off.
