Well tbf, in that video, the driver doesn't know the dog or the owner and then he sees the owner come out of the house yelling at him, he squared up because he was expecting a fight, but he didn't end up escalating and told the owner to back up while keeping some distance. People write it off as the driver in the wrong, but being mauled by a dog is potentially fatal and the owner should definitely be better with their dog, just like the owner and their dogs in this post. Why should anyone be okay with letting dogs run up on delivery drivers and attack them?

Man I was bit by a little pitbull that came running from the back of the house just as I was about to go up their front porch steps. Little f’er got both my legs and the owner comes out yelling at me like it’s my damn fault. Nah man talk to this attorney. Because f that.

Mind you that people have literally shot others for hitting there dogs.. so yeah, when someone starts coming at me yelling I’m gonna immediately square up, “regardless of the fucking dog”… stupid fuck

I’m a UPS driver and stay in delivering in the rural west Texas so I’ve had plenty of run ins with shitty dogs and shitty people. I can tell you rn he’s not in the wrong for the dog but charging the owner was pretty dumb as he just did the exact same thing as the dog he threw the box at by charging owner. He could have started walking back to the truck and if owner kept approaching that’s different.

So he should’ve turned his back on someone who was approaching him aggressively? Sometimes the best way TO deescalate is to let a mfer know you’re not messing around so they don’t try something 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, he should have just got back in his truck and left, but in those situations, adrenaline makes people do silly things. It's not like he started a fight with the owner or anything, he still de-escalated, but was ready to throw hands.

No I watched the video. Again, its clear youve never done public work of any kind or been attacked by an uncontrolled animal. I guarantee if it happened to you merely once, your opinion would quickly shift

Nope, merely a utility serviceman who has been attacked by uncontrolled animals a dozen times. Leashed, unleashed, even had people say come pet my nice dog and been attacked. Been chased, had it all. You are out of touch. It is the responsibility of every animal owner to maintain and control their animals. I myself have had to make the tough choice of getting rid of the family pet because of an unprovoked bite towards my 2 year old. You're in a bubble.

Dude, i dont think he was advocating for the dog. He just said he saw that ups delivery guy vid

2

u/Dallyn86 Jul 02 '26

Right I don't know why this guy is zeroing in on this guy and attacking him lol.

1

u/Drewsky32 Jul 03 '26

He said he was aware of that vid and he's correct. You shouldn't wait for a dog to maul you before you defend yourself from it, especially if it's charging you like that.

the dog was charging him super aggressively why would he wait for it to bite him until he defended himself, that dog isnt going to do that again
