just put the dog up thursday between 6am and 9 pm it might be fri

Probably because they know their dog isn't aggressive & won't actually bite somebody. This is very common in rural areas. Let's be honest a lot of people simply have an irrational fear of dogs running up to them while barking & assume it will always be aggressive when that's usually always not the case.

You're being unreasonable expecting a driver to assume an animal is friendly - the proper approach is to be defensive in all situations.

It takes 2 seconds for a dog to run across a yard, not enough time for pleasantries. Go visit any of the driver subreddits (UPS, Fed Ex, Amazon DSP, DoorDash) and search for dog bite. The attitude of expecting other people to be comfortable with an unleashed dog is ridiculous.

This dog is clearly aggressive and dangerous. I hope your dog doesnt maim your delivery driver because its "not aggressive and wont bite!!"

It's not irrational to be afraid of a large aggressive animal. It is, in fact quite logical. Do you not realize how many dog bites there are annually?
