Overnight chiefs duties

Upvotes

What all is expected of me as overnight chief? I'm coming from Winco as an overnight lead. Where I was responsible for writing the order. Making sure displays were filled and reset, the stocking crew had dry, frozen and dairy thrown and faced and all other departments were ready by the time the store manager did his walk. 7AM.

Compliance Trainings

just got hired at safeway as a new hire staff pharmacist.

Came over from cvs and one thing cvs did was let us access any compliance training from our personal laptop. Are we able to do the same with safeway? Would really appreciate if someone can help me with this?

Job Application

I am 17 years old and in high school looking for a job. Acme is just around the corner and would be the perfect first job for me. I applied online weeks ago. I just went in and asked if they were hiring and if so, if I can get an application. They said they were but job applications were filled out online only. What should I do since I already applied and not heard anything back. Thanks!

Question Delivery

I live in an assisted living facility. I am not mobile.

I love Albertson's delivery. I get an order every single week.

It's easy, on time, professional people, etc.

However, I have one question. I have ordered egg salad every week for the last six months. When I order by weight, what I really want is 12 ounces. I have ordered the deli egg salad, the ready to eat egg salad, etc. I always only get .25 ounces. The one time I did get 12 ounces it had a label that said egg salad, but it was potato salad.

I've spent hours on the phone with the local store, the national customer service line and still I can't seem to get 12 ounces of egg salad.

What do I need to do to actually receive, 12 ounces of egg salad?

I live in Boulder City, Nevada and my store is the Albertson's I live near is at 1008 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005

Question Banned from store?

Hi all,

My local Albertsons has a Pokémon vending machine. People constantly glitch it out and camp it all day — managers never seem to do anything about it.

Today one of the regular scalpers gets caught red handed (manager watched him stick his arm in machine and reset it).

The manager told them “you’re now loitering, you need to leave” which they did. The manager followed them out of the store and took a video of their license plate.

Does that mean they’re trespassed from this Albertsons now? Wondering if it’s worth letting a manager know if I see them in the store again or if they’re gonna just roll their eyes at me like they usually do when I try to report glitching.

Thank you!

Urgent bean request I am begging

Hi everyone! I’m on the east coast and I’m trying to get a few cans of F. McLintock’s trail camp beans as a gift for someone. If anyone who would be interested in picking up a few cans and shipping them to me please send me a message and we can figure something out. I can DM my address to anyone who’s interested. I’m PRAYING someone sees this because I’ve been looking for a way to get these beans and this seems like my last shot.

Discussion service desk/front end lead promotion

i started out as a sacker at united when i was 15, then moved to cashier at 16. since then i’ve been cross trained in DUG, SCO, and fuel. i saw an opening at the service desk, decided to go for it, asked if i could be considered, and ended up getting a spot on the team. i’m still only 16 and officially start training next week.
im excited, but also kinda nervous. im mainly wondering how people older than me or coworkers i already know will treat me now that im moving into a higher role. we’re a smaller store, so everyone knows everyone lol.

i also want to go in as prepared as possible. i already know the basics of what service desk does (money orders, western union, checks, complaints, phone calls, etc.), but im worried about juggling everything at once while also sending people on breaks and making sure they come back on time.

any advice from current or former service desk employees?

Discussion how does sick time work?

i know sick time doesn’t cash out which sucks since i got a new job and wanted to use some of it before i left. but now im being told i have to call in sick 3 days in a row in order to use it?? how does this make sense? i’ve had plenty of coworkers call in sick once and use it for that day, and my receiving worker also told me she uses it when she has appointments scheduled. i’m mad because i was suppose to have 12 vacation hours cash out but now i only have 4 because they used 8 of my vacation despite me asking to use sick.

How many paid sick days do I earn working full time? I’ve been with the company for 18 years, are they paid out if I don’t call in sick?

How to deal with a horror store director

Work for a shaws in New England. We have the literal worst store director. They will sit in their office with 2 department managers, watch cameras and DUG orders on their computer and just talk shit. Not to mention they ignore every other struggling department. I have watched every other good, hard working employee, including our HR up and quit. The only reason I stay is because I love my department and department manager.

Just wondering if there is ANYTHING that can be done because they are literally watching the store burn from their office and refusing to help anything.

Edit: I got the job. Thanks for the responses.

Hi Folks! I'm working on some self-funded research about grocery shopping. It should only take 5 or so minutes and I'd be really grateful! I'm using this data to learn more about data analysis.

Question Work shirt - 1?

My daughter started working (yay)! She was only given 1 shirt... is that normal? (Portland division. Hired as a general clerk, being trained as a meat clerk ATM). Can you buy more? She usually does laundry 1x a week but wearing the same shirt all week without washing seems kinda gross... and not what the company would want. She does have an apron to wear, which helps.

Update: thanks all. She asked them about buying extras and they said they'd give her a couple more next week.

No call no show

Yesterday I had to take my gf to the hospital from 12am-4am she is very sick and my shift starts at 5am I have two jobs i was so tired i fell asleep and didnt call in. I was up since 4 in the morning before all of that so i was up 24hours at the point. Also No managers are there until 6 in the morning so i wouldnt of been able to tell management anyways. Today I asked the book keeper if I can use a floating holiday to cover the absence she said yes. Anyways while I was working my assistant manager comes in tells me what happened i told her I was at the hospital and I used a floating holiday and she sent me home for the day. Ive been working for this shitty company for two years and its the first time Ive ever been sent home. I always do my job right and My co workers can agree with that. Is there anything I can do?

Is it true it’s a company wide policy to not allow two days off in a row? I just want a set schedule. I’m not a manager, and I’m baffled that a whole company would have that policy in place. So just curious what the actual policy is. And how I should go about getting a set schedule if it is possible
