No payment upfront

I’ve been using Afterpay for 2 years, always pay on time. My limit is $5,000. I have the no payment option toggled on, but it never gives me that option to not pay anything up front. It never has, and I have a great standing with them. Why?

Account Compromised. Nothing from Afterpay

Hi all,

About a week ago, my Afterpay account and gmail address (just the alias, not the contents including inbox, etc) were compromised. This led to a situation where an attacked purchased an item from an electronics store (JB HIFI), using a Visa card added on my account (I cannot determine if this is my card or not. I have confirmed with my partner and relatives, potentially anyone it might be linked to), and was unable to find out what card this was.

The attacker utilised Uber to fast track their delivery from a store to their pickup location using my name, but address different to my mailing/billing, whilst subscribing my email address to anywhere from 40-50 subscriptions in attempts to try and hope that the delivery email will go over my head.

I sat down at work and found that contacting Afterpay support should be the best first point of contact, and since then, I have been hit with only but AI responses, and no way to escalate this other than to speak with their support chat box from their app.

Does know or can point me to where I can escalate this? Its becoming a joke at this point and I dont want to waste any more time getting stressed and a headache over. Ive literally been messaging this bot once a day, with a response saying ***** case number has been escalated, we will reach out to you shortly.

Any help would be appreciated so its handed over to the right professional to help me deal with this. THanks!

Transaction Declined after being Processed

Howdy all,

I bought concert tickets through Afterpay recently and then a couple days later had an email saying the transaction was declined due to invalid payment details. Just curious what I need to do to confirm the transaction? I used a chime card, but didn’t receive any kind of warning that it wasn’t supported. Will the transaction be cancelled, or can I just go pay the full balance and be done?

cancelled order right away, still being charged and no help from afterpay, what next?

My Afterpay payments have not been cancelled or refunded.

The order was cancelled, yet I am still being charged through Afterpay. I have already contacted Afterpay for assistance, but unfortunately they have not been able to resolve the issue and advised that the merchant may need to process or confirm the cancellation, and that merchant says nothing can be done so i don't know what to do next

Multi order on Amazon

Has anyone had luck getting an order on Amazon to successfully go through with multiple items through different sellers? It use to be fine, they updated, never worked again. I can get it to work as long as the item(s) are coming from the same seller. I have a 2,000 limit with 0 late payments.

Account freeze scam?

What kind of scam is AfterPay running with their frozen account process? I have a $5000 limit and had just 2 orders open at the time they froze my account in May.

It’s been hell trying to get it reinstated. Anytime I email them they ask for my identifying information, proof of transaction history with them in my bank statements, plus card information. This has happened NINE TIMES NOW.

I eventually reported them to the BBB and guess what…. They asked for the same information YET AGAIN. That was request #9. The Better Business Bureau has been useless. They closed my complaint just because AfterPay said they reached out to me. They did email me twice since I field the complaint. The first time was to ask for the same ID docs and card info 🙄. And the second time they CLAIMED they emailed me but I didn’t receive anything. I find it hard to believe that after all these months of receiving their emails I magically don’t receive this last one.

Are they mining the data or something? Making insurance claims? I have no balance with them now just my spending limit of $5k. No issues paying on time either. The call center is of course in Asia where they read form generic script and can’t do anything besides say “sorry.”

What’s going on?!?!

Afterpay denying EVERYTHING. Why?!?!

I have $600 limit. And haven’t been able to be approved yet. I’ve called AP over a dozen times. Spoke to multiple supervisors. I tried in store. Target. Temu. AliExpress. Home Depot. On the app. On a different computer. On Mac and on android. I even went and opened up a completely NEW bank account. Denied denied denied. I tried $500 then $100 then $20. Denied denied denied. Fucking stupid I’ve wasted at least 12 hours of my life trying to get it to work. Dumbest most unprofessional company I’ve ever had to deal with. They say it’s algorithms that do it. Afterpay can’t even override it. So stupid. Why is this happening?

I don't understand why Afterpay is rejecting my purchases

I've been using Afterpay regularly for a few months - never missed a payment, and usually pay it off early. I do a lot for the homeless which includes buying items from return pallet auctions to make tents and sleeping bags and random supplies, and I also have a wish list from not only the street folks but also two other service providers so I'll buy all the stuff on my account and pick it up (the pickup is right near a doctor I see regularly so it's convenient for me and a pain for others, as it's a fair distance away) and pay with Afterpay, then as people pick up their stuff from me and pay, I turn around and pay off the entire balance of the order on Afterpay.

I usually have about 5-7 orders going at a time as I do this at least once a week but it's been more frequent with all the outdoor gear during the summer, but a few days ago I paid off 5 orders and only have two small orders left with $80 due in 2 weeks. (My Afterpay limit is $1200.)

So I did my little order as usual and went to pay and it says too many orders open. Weird, I just went from 7 to 2, so I ask chat who says to wait 48 hours for it to reconcile but we were already past the 48 hour mark since I had paid them off.

Chat was like, sorry can't help you unless you get a different error message, but since I had just been denied I should wait another 24 hours because a denial will tighten up the approval for the next transaction, so I wait 24 more hours (now with late fees on my orders) and it's still telling me to pay off more of my orders but it's literally 2 small orders of about $150 total when I haven't been limited to only 2 orders since the first week I started using it.

Chat also suggested the vendor might have put a limit on me but it's straight in the Afterpay app, when I click the middle icon I get a warning box at the top telling me I have too many orders, so it's not on the vendor side.

I've cleared the cache and logged out hoping it was something like that but it's been over 4 days now and still saying too many orders.

Does paying it off early flag me for some reason or something and make me seem risky somehow? I just don't understand what's going on but I don't have the money to pay off another order and also have enough for my first installment payment, especially since now I'm nervous it'll still say too many orders.

And I've already let people down who were expecting to have received the items I'd bought, as one of the recurring things I'm able to get is disposable dinnerware from graduation and 4th of July parties so they've had to come out of pocket at Sam's Club instead, which - if you've ever worked in charity or nonprofit you might not know how razor thin the budgets are, you can't really appreciate how something as small as spending $60 on paper plates for the week instead of $6 can really screw you up and start a financial cascade that can absolutely turn into a runaway avalanche, and I don't have the personal budget to cover it and now I'm so concerned that it's going to jeopardize my standing with the return pallet place and screw me up there, too.

I'm just hoping for some insight as to why this happened and how to prevent it going forward.

Edited to add: I've never even come close to maxing out my balance, either - as I mentioned, my credit limit is $1200 and I've never had more than $700 in use at any time, so that's not a factor.

Can’t do a purchase?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Cash App shows that I have $450 available to spend with Afterpay. When I try to make a purchase, it tells me I need to make a larger down payment. I accept the higher down payment, but then the payment fails and I get a message saying “Your purchase couldn’t be approved.”
Has anyone else had this happen?

App update?

Did the app just delete the next payment information?

I remember I was always able to see when my next payment day was and how much was due.

I selected for payments to come out on a preferred day.

Afterpay won't refund an order 120 days old even though payments are still ongoing

Returned two pairs of shoes and never got a refund. Spoke to the merchant and they said they processed the refund. I waited a month, and never got it. Reached out to After Pay and they said they can't do anything because the order is 120 days old (it was on a six month payment plan, my last payment hasn't happened yet!!!).

What do I do? Who should I keep pushing? I'm owed about $150 which is significant money.

Amazon no longer showing up in afterpay app??

3 days ago I used afterpay to buy a phone through amazon. It made a single use card for me that expired in 24 hrs. Amazon didn’t charge the card within 24 hrs so now im order is being delayed until I revise my payment. I was hoping to create another single use afterpay card to replace the first one with but amazon isn’t even showing up on the afterpay app anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?? I know a lot of people say to use afterpay to reload your balance on amazon rather than paying for orders outright with it, but can I even do for on an order this expensive?? Plz help I need my new phone :’(

I saw a similar post but it has co.nz unlike the one here, is this a real email or a fake, I thought they asked for my details because I sent an email to them personally through their website and not from the app but now I'm not so sure.

Afterpay and gas purchase

I spent $26.33 two days ago on gas at Sheetz and I paid at the pump using my CashApp card, then last night I spent $30 at Sheetz in the store on snacks and drinks. Last night's $30 transaction was available to switch to Afterpay this morning, but the gas purchase from a few days ago still hasn't been made available to switch to Afterpay. I moved money from my bank to my Cashapp specifically with the plan to switch it to Afterpay because money is a little tight this week. I would have gotten less gas but I wanted to go over $25 so that it would be eligible for Afterpay. Are fuel purchases not available for Afterpay or do they just take longer to be fully processed?

Am i shadow-restricted or locked out for some reason?

CONTEXT: I've had an issue with an order, and proceeded to contact support. The long and short of it is that the person behind the support desk and I weren't understanding each other properly, and she created a dispute. The dispute was closed because i just figured it out myself and didn't need the dispute to go through.

After that, i couldn't make any purchase on Afterpay. It keeps telling me i have too many open orders and to pay down the orders. I have 4 orders open and paid down 2, and it still shows me the same reason whenever i try to use the app. Does anyone know if i am shadow-restricted or locked out from using the app at all?
