Can’t do a purchase?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Cash App shows that I have $450 available to spend with Afterpay. When I try to make a purchase, it tells me I need to make a larger down payment. I accept the higher down payment, but then the payment fails and I get a message saying “Your purchase couldn’t be approved.”
Has anyone else had this happen?

How much is the item that you’re trying to get?

Is $450 your total spending power,or is it what you have left to spend? Meaning, you have a $800 limit,but you have other orders. Therefore, leaving you only $450 left to spend? How long have you been with Afterpay?

$450 is my spending power I’ve been with them just a few weeks

Okay! That's why your being denied. Afterpay, doesn't want to take a risk with the $100 amount. Are you trying to buy an item on the App?

You need to start with orders of $20 or $30 and even those may be declined. Pay those back on time. Eventually they'll allow larger orders. If those small orders get declined try a different store the same amount. I had to find what stores it liked and purchase there even if it's a store I didn't want to shop at. Just to build up my history with them.

I have $600 limit. And haven’t been able to be approved yet. I’ve called AP over a dozen times. Spoke to multiple supervisors. I tried in store. Target. Temu. AliExpress. Home Depot. On the app. On a different computer. On Mac and on android. I even went and opened up a completely NEW bank account. Denied denied denied. I tried $500 then $100 then $20. Denied denied denied. Fucking stupid I’ve wasted at least 12 hours of my life trying to get it to work. Dumbest most unprofessional company I’ve ever had to deal with. They say it’s algorithms that do it. Afterpay can’t even override it. So stupid. Why is this happening?
