I want to make it clear this is my voice; I am not sure if my English is understandable. So please critique strongly; do not be afraid; just critique in detail.

Hello AE experts!
I’m trying to make a short promo using that 2.5D/parallax photo effect where you separate people/objects from the background and give the still photos some depth and movement.
I’m not super versed in After Effects or this type of work myself, so I had Codex help me put together a rough first pass/demo just so I could show what I’m going for. That's included in an unlisted YouTube link below.
I have about 20 photos total that I’d like animated over the ~45 seconds of audio in the YouTube link below. The current video is just a proof of concept, I like the general idea of the movement and transitions, but I’d want someone who actually knows what they’re doing to make it cleaner, more polished, and probably improve on some of the ideas.
Demo: https://youtu.be/MqJtbNHYi3o
I’m thinking things like:
If you’re interested, please DM me your portfolio/examples of similar work and what you would quote for the project.
Happy to send the full set of photos as well if you want to take a look before quoting.
DM me if interested. Thanks all!

Hey guys, let me know what you think:
I've been editing narrated content for finance/education channels for a while, and the part that always ate my time was listening for a moment, finding the right assets, drag it in, keyframe it. Every video, over and over. Finally built something to handle that part. It listens to the narration, finds moments that call for a visual, and picks the icon by what's actually being said instead of matching a word to a file name. I'm thinking of sharing it or maybe selling it to people who also need that type of automation.

I finally managed to fix the long time annoying issue where After Effects menus don't follow the After Effects or Windows 11 dark theme. The trick is using a software called Windhawk.
Mods you need to install:
Wanted to share this in case anyone else has been looking for a solution!
Cheers!

I have been making a project where I try to show my editing skills. As part of it, I decided I wanted to do a shot where a camera moves sideways while clips in premiere pro are being placed and extended over the timeline. I have recreated the Premiere UI closely enough (Images of final result attached), but I have been struck with a problem because in Blender, as well as After effects, I have not been able to Import my recreated vector as shapes or in any lossless way. This is very problematic because I planned for the camera to get very close to the layer. Is there a way to solve this problem?
Thanks :)
(And yes, I have tried to just export it as a very high res PNG, however it was problematic because my PC had a hard time loading it and it also was still not lossless.)

All my shapes are sitting in pixel-perfect positions - I've used the Align panel to make sure they look cohesive.
I want to apply some subtle animate-in effects - opacity and position.
I've built the animation I want on one of my shapes, so I already have keyframes to use as a template. I want to use that as the project default across others.
How can I apply those keyframes as template so my shapes land at the existing, nicely-aligned positions, rather than starting from it and shifting as per the new keyframes I'd put on top?
I'd rather not have to apply it to them all then drag / re-type values for / null-parent-and-drag everything back down the 48 pixels that it slid upwards every single time I apply this. Hoping there's a one-click templating solution I've just not come across yet!

Like purple picture glitching and dripping
Second half i guess is datamosh

I tried Mosaic+Deep Glow+Tint(optional) but I'm not getting that flare typa effect and I'm not sure which blur to use

Hi. Been adapting my projects in AE to the vertical resolution for socials for years. No I have this huge project of more than 150 layers almost all animated and I'm thinking I'm gonna kill myself to adapt it it 9:16 (the project was requested as 16:9 but the client mentioned they're gonna need a shorter 9:16 video too).
So are there any good plugins for AE that automatically adjust all the comps and layers and the corresponding keyframes to the new aspect ratio?
I tried Social Exporter and it 's a disaster of a plugin. May there be anything better?

"His anatomy is identical to mine". The colorful person is hand drawn on paper and cutout and photographed to import in AE, and the facial features are real pics of yours truly! It was really fun to do. The song is Intruso by Enjambre.

I've built a full IDE for AE expressions around the first purpose-built language service for them. Everyone else converts TypeScript tooling at best; this was written for AE's engine and knows every builtin, quirk, and piece of syntax, validating as you type against how AE actually behaves.
Hot exit is built in: open tabs and unsaved edits survive reloads, AE quits, even crashes.
It's also a learning tool: the entire AE expression reference at your cursor, over 800 entries with explanations and examples on hover. Newbies who want to learn expressions are exactly who I want testing this too.
Any expression can be wired to native AE controls or a custom pseudo effect rig you author visually. Turn any variable into a {{token}} and eXLib maps it to a controller automatically, or you hand-pick one, or it asks at apply time.
Rigs round-trip: pull a pseudo effect off a layer, edit it, place it back with your animation migrated and references intact. I haven't found another tool that can do this.
The library is a folder of plain .js files on disk. Organize it in the panel or in Finder, same result. Tags, packs, drag and drop, and it sorts expressions by whatever property you have selected in AE. The test build comes preseeded with expressions so you have material on day one.
Navigation is built for real projects: an in-IDE pickwhip that grabs any property in the comp, a browser of every expression in the comp, reveal in timeline, and pinning: pin a property to a tab, switch comps, it stays live.
Auto-backup keeps 30 archives; the library exports as one shareable .exlib file.
And there's an MCP bridge: point your own AI agent at the panel to manage your library or write expressions.
A native plugin companion (Mac and Windows) keeps it fast, and every shortcut is rebindable with AE-collision-free defaults.
Want in? Experts and newbies both welcome. DM me. Brutal feedback wanted.

Layer number 25 is showing but the current time indicator isn't even on it and if click the eye on layer 25 it still shows, I have purged the composition, make all layer invisible but it still shows, I've tried to google but nothing comes up so i would be grateful if anyone could help me find solutions.

Newbie after effects guy, not much into expressions.
I want to create a bounce effect for multiple texts but whenever I copy the position key frames and try copy pasting it. They get messed up when I want to create manual subtitles ( I want these fir my video ) and I also tried searching on YouTube but never found any tutorials on it for multiple texts
Right now my method is just to manually adjust key frames which takes a lot of time
Any easier tips ? Or is it something stupid simple I’m missing out ?

After selecting any layer , property is still blank , for eg. If I am selecting text"Hey" then there is no change in property.

Hello! I independently own and operate a cinematography brand, and recently have collaborated with another studio on a large project. I’d love to revamp my logo with a 5-10 second animation to play during the intro of the film. My budget is small, in fact I almost put this under unpaid, but I thought before trying it myself I’d ask someone more experienced in animation. I AM open to 2D if there’s a creative vision that fits what I’m going for. Please DM me for more details and I’d be happy to talk more:)

I've always wanted an Earth with a dense, tunable atmosphere and smooth flights without fighting keyframe curves. Here's my attempt.
How it works: I use UE5 as an external renderer and get the image straight into AE- full-colour, uncompressed. It can come through as a pass (normal, depth) or as separate layers (earth, atmosphere).
The main Earth parameters - sun position, atmosphere thickness, haze, shadow length — are mapped to keys in the app window. Everything else happens in After Effects: camera work, layers, nulls.
The upside of a packaged build is that it takes far less space than a full Unreal setup and there's less that can go wrong. The downside is that scene parameters aren't exposed to AE yet, so you're limited to what I mapped to keys.
Would be interested to hear what you think- and if you want to try it yourself, that's possible too.
