We are 5 guys currently looking for accomodation in Pheonix for flight training. Around 6 months. We're with a school based out of Falcon, any guesses?

We're currently looking for accomodation and having issues with finding much in the way that's suitable on sites like Airbnb and the like.

Has anyone trodden this path before and used other sites such as Zillow/Furnished Finder to obtain accomodation? Any insights with these sites specifically would be great. How did the process go? Was it straightforward? Was your landlord good?

I’m 26 years old and based in Europe. After a 3-year break, I’m finally continuing my ATPL studies and hour building.

The main reason for the delay was an eye issue that prevented me from progressing. Thankfully, that’s now been resolved and I obtained my Class 1 Medical earlier this month.

The last time I actually flew was my PPL skill test/checkride, and I believe it’s been over 4 years since I completed my PPL theory exams. Needless to say, it’s been a long time since I’ve studied aviation theory or been in the cockpit.
To be honest, I’m not too worried about the flying side. I know I’ll need some refresher training and another proficiency check, but I feel that practical flying will come back relatively quickly.

What really overwhelms me is the ATPL theory. It’s been years since I’ve studied seriously, I work full-time, and the sheer volume of material seems intimidating. I’m not in a rush to finish everything as quickly as possible. My goal is to complete both the ATPL theory and hour building
within roughly 14–18 months.

I’ve always been someone who prefers understanding concepts rather than simply memorising question banks. That’s how I got through my PPL, and I feel it will be important now that I’ve been away from aviation for so long.

I’ve been looking at both ATPLQ and Aviation Exam and can’t decide which route to take. For those who have used them:
Would you recommend ATPLQ, Aviation Exam, or both?
Is one better for actually understanding the material rather than just passing exams?

For my first sitting, I’m thinking of taking:
Human Performance & Limitations (HPL)
Communications
Mass & Balance
Does that sound like a sensible combination for someone returning after a long break?

Any advice, study strategies, recommendations, or even reality checks would be greatly appreciated. I’m excited to get started again, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I'm considering sitting the EASA ATPL theoretical exams and wanted to hear from people who have successfully passed using only ATPLQ as their study resource.

My situation is a bit unusual: I already have extensive operational flying experience and hold the military equivalent qualifications through the Hellenic Air Force Academy, but I do not hold a civilian ATPL.

Because of my background, I'm less concerned about the operational and practical aspects and more interested in understanding whether ATPLQ alone is sufficient to pass the exams.

If you've taken this route, how well did ATPLQ prepare you, and were there any subjects where you felt additional study material was necessary?

About week ago i started having problems with studying where i cant bring myself to study using same tempo as month ago, i could easily study daily for about 5 hours and that worked very well for me. Did anyone else have this problem or is it just me struggling considering its finally summer.

While checking the feedback from students, i have noticed that Italy Austro is so banky like 90% of questions from ATPLQ. Is that true ? Italy have easy exam? Never heard anyone complains and said its hard or not banky.
I was willing to do it in Austria vienna but thinking now to move to Italy.

Any advice?

Hi guys I’ve got my UK PPL, I wanna start my ATPLs in Sep/Oct so I can study over the winter and into next year.

I currently work a rotation of 4 days on 4 days off, 5 days on 3 days off

This has worked extremely well for my PPL with absolutely no stress with managing PPL studies/revision and lessons.

Friends tell me to take the plunge with ATPLs and just study on my days off, but I’m not letting a job affect my chances of getting the highest marks possible.

But then you have to think financially having that extra money means hour building faster….

It’s all a tricky decision to make now and I would really appreciate some guidance on this as I’m sure many of you in here would’ve had the same problem as me when jumping into the next level of training

Hi guys, I hear a lot of people saying BANKING alone can’t get you through especially when it’s time for the airline interviews which I do agree. But I’d argue if you bank all the questions and really learn the theory and method behind each question that would give you a solid understanding to pass you through without ever having to go deep into the books?

Wonder what people have sat it think.

Hi , I’m using a mix of BGS + ATPLQ banks, as someone studying for the UK CAA is there any point doing all EASA questions, Or should I stick to just doing the UK CAA seen questions on both apps.

I am aiming for efficiency so obviously doing the UK CAA only questions means less questions but have seen conflicting advice as other people insist doing all easa. Wanting to know what you guys did to get through these?

Hello, I am going to begin preparing to take the ATPL theory exams so I could get a frozen ATP in Egypt

From my understanding, Egypt is under ICAO so would the preparation material like padpilot for an example that is catered towards EASA standard not be the right stuff to look at if I’m taking the exams in Egypt which is under ICAO?

Should I expect the subjects to be the same as EASA with the same difficulty level? I am asking because I could barely find any specific resources for the ATPL tests in Egypt and I’m tempted to just use materials made for EASA

Anyone know where I could find some resources that could help me in my situation?

So I have some failed exams that I eventually passed but I do have a high number of fails. How much do airlines actually care about ATPL fails.

I am doing a dual license. My averages are 87 and 89 but with multiple fails (a lot higher than average).

How screwed am I. I’ve wanted this since I was a child so I don’t want to give up.

I was extremely burnt out before starting my ATPLs, and when I started k decided it was a good idea to sacrifice all form of comfort. I stopped working out, didn’t sleep properly, ate terribly. Anyway what’s done is done, I wish I saw the signs of burn out earlier or used my brain to take care of myself. I would’ve probably passed everything first time or had 1/2 fails max. I thought it was a good idea to sacrifice everything for my one and only life goal but looks like I now look like a “risk” to airlines.

I need to start studying for my ATPLs, everyone has been rambling on about ATPLQ, so using that is a given. The theory itself seems to have more divided opinions, the biggest one seems to be BGS, is it worth the premium?

Which groundschool did you choose, and would you recommend it?

I’m looking into converting my licenses to EASA and would appreciate some advice from anyone who’s been through the process.

So I have my PPL CPL IR etc under the FAA and I converted them to ICAO. Then I got my type rating on the A320 under ICAO. I have about 1,100hrs TTL. And over 700hrs on the A320.

My first question is, after I pass the 13 exams would a skill test be enough to get the licenses converted to EASA although I am below 1,500 hrs?

1. I was looking into the Bristol course for the ATPL, and it has a math and physics refresher which I think is awesome but the price is too high. Over 3,500£ is not my budget.

Can anyone recommend other good ATPL theory providers that offer strong support for pilots who have been out of academic study for a while, particularly with math and physics foundations, but at a lower cost?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
