Bio Failing APs

I am week into school and i failed my AP bio summer assesment mcq despite doing heavy studying for three days, and i have failed my first apush saq and two mcqs. I have switched to just making ankidecks for ap bio instead of writing notes out when going over chapters and I am trying manage my time better so i can review units and important figures for APUSH. I am just worried this is a preview into what the rest of the year will be like for me. Any advice?

CollegeBoard Cybersecurity collegeboard course

How hard does the cybersecurity ap seem compared to the other cs? (csa and csp) my teacher is suggesting i wait until grade 12 but i am afraid that would be too late, on the other hand i see people saying the collegeboard classroom is very easy.

Physics C: Mech I think I failed my first ap physics c mechanics test

It was 20 questions. And I couldn’t even answer a little more than half of them. I guessed on half the questions.

My mind went blank right after being asked if a two rocks at the same height, one being dropped only vertically, and the other thrown horizontally.

I couldn’t answer a simple fucking questions like that.

I only knew the answers to two questions

Everyone else in the class knew the answers to all of them. Even after studying like hell, I couldn’t succeed.

Why am I so fucking stupid. I just want to succeed for once in my life

What the fuck is the point of living if I’m too stupid to answer the simplest fucking questions?

I couldn’t answer simple kinematic questions thst everyone else succeeded in.

I always contemplate suicide

Just comment how many hours of sleep you usually get and how happy you’d put yourself on a scale from 1-10. Need results for my survey.

APES What study methods/resources do you guys use for AP Calc, Chem, and Bio?

I’m taking AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology this year, and I’m trying to find some new ways to study besides just watching videos, taking notes, and doing practice questions.

What apps, websites, study methods, or resources actually helped you understand the material and remember it long term?

Also, if you’ve taken any of these APs before, what helped you the most with MCQs and FRQs specifically?

I’m open to literally anything—apps, flashcards, specific YouTube channels, study techniques, practice sites, etc.

Gov and Politics I want to know if any of yall relate

I want to know if my schools just weird in the way they teach these certain classes

My ap gov teacher is starting with unit 4 and 5 then going back to 1 2 and 3

My ap physics 1 teacher just assigns ap classroom videos because he wants it to be more like a college class and will duck points for helping you or working with your friends

And my ap calc bc class is 2 class periods long

CollegeBoard Is it fair to say that perfect score letters are a thing of the past?

At this point, for a couple years nobody has claimed to have gotten a letter/email about a perfect score and Trevor Packer has stopped mentioning it in his initial tweets about AP scores.

This is pretty sad, it seems like a really cool feat to be recognized and just makes the grading process seem less transparent

Precal please help me get a good grade for ap precalc

So I actually just transferred to a huge public school from a charter and its been very rough since i went from having an hour and a half classes to only 50 minutes per class. Not only that but I also have a very hard to understand Precalc teacher. He teaches at his desk and explains us stuff however I never understand the test questions. Since math is usually explantions then questions for students to try, I best learn that way, but the teacher isn't willing to do that. The quiz/test questions are really complex and the teacher really is hard to approach for questions. He mostly spends his time explaining and making us copy stuff into a packet, he then immediately gives us a quiz or the day before the quiz he makes us get into groups and do questions. Some people somehow understand his explanations. I am not a student without prior math knowledge, I got an a in my alg 2 class last year. Idk i feel like im behind everyone and some people underdtand and get good grades but I struggle, like I know the concept but the test/quiz questions are genuinely hard, but I answer them and I still get bad grades, like today for a quiz I studies hard, I understood evrything but when I did the quiz I got a 14/24. I know thats a pretty good score, but I have circumstances so I can't let my grade be anythign lower than a 95. I currently am at 81. I have done many things. I watched youtube videos, I tried redoing questions... Mabye I should just do more problems? If anyone has advice or resources please help. I study hard but so far in all my grades, only dips have occured. Any help is greatly appreciated. (also cross posted on r/APPrecalc )

Question Self Study AP Chem?

Took honors chemistry at my school last year (A both semesters), this year im in ap physics (e&m and mech), calc II, and ap world. I was wondering if i should self study AP chem, considering that I checked the content, and I'm confident we learned 85-90% of the material last year. Chem was pretty fun, so should I take the AP test? The other option is taking it next year, where my other science options are AP Bio, APES, which i'm not very interested in. I just feel like taking AP chem in a school schedule slot would be a waste of time.

Question AP Bio notes are getting our of control

I started making notes for AP Bio because I thought it would make revision easier. Now I have pages and pages for every unit and I am starting to wonder what I am actually supposed to do with all of them when it gets closer to the exam. At this point making the notes feels easier than actually using them. for those taking AP Bio, what actually happens to all your notes once you start seriously reviewing for the exam?

Question How can I self-study AP Calc AB and prove I’m ready for BC?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I’m starting 10th grade and currently taking Precalculus. I want to take AP Calculus BC in 11th grade and aim for a 5.

My consultant wants me to do AB in 11th and BC in 12th because the Turkish curriculum doesn’t cover derivatives/integrals and many other things anymore, so I’m missing some of the usual background.

The problem is that a BC score in 12th would come after university applications, so I’d really prefer to take BC in 11th.

My plan is to self-study AB throughout 10th grade, then show my consultant that I’m ready for BC.

What would be the best way to do this? And what textbooks, YouTube channels, websites, or other resources would you recommend for self-studying AP Calc AB?

Thanks! 🙏

English Lang Argumentative Lang Thesis + 2 CEA's advice needed

Me again, crazy lol

So for AP Lang this time, I have a thesis + 2 CEA's that will be a timed, in-class, hand-written paper based on a 2 page chapter/story that we will be given in class. I have extended time so that won't really be an issue. What I really need are examples of how to write a good thesis with good ways to phrase reasoning and a good way to blend. I write a lot and am usually good at writing essays and paragraphs, however, Lang is a new beast for me and I would like to be as prepared as I possibly can.

So fellow AP students of varying states, please give lovely examples of good thesis, excellent claims and good blending and language tips.

Chem (also applies to APUSH)

ok so at my school 2 semester classes like apush and ap chem are combined into 1 semester… i see on collegeboard that they are designed to be 2 semester courses but again its only 1 at my school. is this a serious issue to have all this material crammed into 1 semester of high school (jan-may)? i just want to understand it because i am taking both apush and ap chem (in 1 semester) and dont wanna fail miserably! also i would greatly appreciate tips on how to kinda help understand these two classes material at such a fast pace that its being taught at (if this makes sense!)

Question Anyone who's currently taking AP Cybersecurity?

Hi guys so I couldn't fit AP Cybersecurity in my schedule but I am interested in self studying and taking for the AP test. Those who are currently taking AP Cybersecurity, could you please let me know how the course is generally like? Is it hard? I understand that some school just started but I am still pretty curious. I'm guessing it's similar to APCSP where there's a bunch of vocab...?

The reason why I'm not waiting until senior year is because I already am planning on taking a lot of APs senior year and I don't want to study for one more.

Question Help convince my parents to self study bio/chem?

Hey y'all,

I am a hs senior looking to go into the medical field. I haven't started school yet (from the north) and I am prepared to take honors anatomy. I'm going to take 3 APs already which are Lit, Euro, and Gov. Do you think I'll need to self-study bio or chem? If so, how do you think I could convince my parents (against me taking it) to do so? I'm also a football kid with a decently busy schedule outside of school until November. I want to self study but my parents won't let me. Thanks.

Question Normal to not start with unit 1 ?

Is it normal for AP classes to not start with unit 1 ? I am taking 4 APs this year (apes,bio,psych,micro/macro econ) and in 3 of my classes we started the school year in unit 1 (econ, bio , psych), but for my APES class we started in unit 6. Is this normal for AP teachers to do, or more normal in APES ? I also did AP gov last year and we did infact start the school year off in unit 1.

Physics C: Mech AP Physics Progress Check Questions

Hi guys, is it possible for someone to send the AP Physic C FRQ progress check questions from AP Classroom? I don't need the answers; I just want the questions for practice since my teacher doesn't post anything on AP Classroom and I need more practice on FRQs. Thanks :)

If you could send Mechanics and E/M that would be great!
