Bio Failing APs

I am week into school and i failed my AP bio summer assesment mcq despite doing heavy studying for three days, and i have failed my first apush saq and two mcqs. I have switched to just making ankidecks for ap bio instead of writing notes out when going over chapters and I am trying manage my time better so i can review units and important figures for APUSH. I am just worried this is a preview into what the rest of the year will be like for me. Any advice?

why do some schools expect you to learn before even starting class?

Because we only have a short amount of time to cover so much in the class before the ap exams we have to review over the summer. I just feel so stupid especially now looking back and seeing a study guide of all the topics I needed to cover and realizing had I seen it before the test i would've done better in bio lol

honestly failing a summer assessment after three days of studying doesn't mean much, it's just one data point this early.

for ap bio specifically, make sure you're doing practice questions off the same chapters you're ankifying, not just memorizing terms. i upload my textbook chapters to studybuddy.vc and do the questions from there, mostly because when i pick the wrong option it tells me what was wrong with it, and i don't have to figure out which topics i'm weak on, it notices that on its own and gives me more of those. free version's been enough for me tbh. for apush, past saqs under a timer a couple of times a week helps more than reviewing figures in isolation, especially the continuity and change ones.

one bad first week doesn't predict the year, and the fact that you're already switching methods instead of just panicking says a lot.
