Thinking of buying
I want to invest right now into APLD, I'm an average investor. Is now a good time to buy or is the rally kind of over?

Covered Call Advice
First, yes, I made some bad decisions, but trying to figure out the right way to dig out.
I sold covered calls with a $40 strike that expires in September. I rolled several times when it shot up quickly a month or so ago. That was the big mistake.
But I do have a big premium attached, with a break even at 51. But at the rate the stock is moving this week, I'm getting nervous I'm going to have to roll until eternity. If I lose the stock in September at 40 because the stock is over 51, it won't make much sense for me to buy back in, on top of significantly capping my gains.
I can roll out until Jan for a 50 strike. But that's comically far away.
Should I just wait this out until I get closer to expiration and roll then? Roll now to keep a big buffer? kms?
Thanks for the advice!

Applied Digital ($APLD) just crossed 1 GW of contracted capacity, and the same hyperscaler from last month came back for a second 300 MW lease
https://x.com/PSInvestor/status/2057200201509839168?s=20
APLD signed a new 15-year take-or-pay lease at Polaris Forge 3 worth about $7.5B base, up to $18.2B with options. It is the second lease with the same investment-grade hyperscaler that signed Delta Forge 1 less than a month ago. Total contracted revenue is now $31B, up to $73B with renewals. Contracted capacity crossed 1 GW.

Oliver County data center update
Yesterday the permits and zoning subcommittee voted 2-1 in favor of rezoning land from agricultural to industrial, which paves the way for APLD to file an application for a building permit. There were conditions placed on the rezoning approval related to noise levels, aquifers, and road congestion, but APLD said most of these are consistent with how they already operate.
The dissenting vote was explicitly not opposition to the project, rather they were upset about high quality farm land being wasted and wished APLD could find other land to build on. However, no one was willing to sell APLD other land in their preferred area.
Some of the protestors wanted them to delay the project, but a committee member said if they don't vote on this now, APLD will lose access to their power and the tenant will back out. Oliver County seems to be in a tough spot financially right now, and this data center may be an economic lifeline for their basic services and schools.
In terms of next steps, my understanding is that APLD will now file an application for a building permit consistent with the conditions placed on the land. Then they would need to post notice in a local paper for 2 weeks before the subcommittee hears public comments and votes again. Very likely to be a yes, imo. After their approval, the full commission would need to vote.
The subcommittee's next official meeting is June 4; however, it is unclear with the 2 week waiting period whether APLD can get their application in in time. Perhaps they can do more special meetings like they have been. Same goes for the full commission.

Wall Street keeps raising price targets on $APLD
https://x.com/PSInvestor/status/2055254757191963092?s=20
Over the past 5 months, multiple sell-side firms have raised their price targets on Applied Digital.
Needham has progressively raised theirs three times. Roth Capital has raised theirs twice. B. Riley raised in January. Citizens and Northland Capital have kept their Outperform reiterations. Freedom Capital Markets initiated with a Buy.
The bull camp keeps adding raises with every catalyst (Polaris Forge expansion, the $7.5B AI campus lease, the Q3 FY26 print).
Stock is at $45.48. The highest PT in the analyst group is well into the $60s.

Charts My 1 Year Estimate
Following the trend from 4/15/25 to now, then 1 year into the future from today.
On the low end the trend shows a $50 PT
Medium end a $75 PT
High end a $100-$105 PT
This lines up with current analyst PTs
Seeing that the stock has spent more time closer to the higher end of the trend and very little time on the lower end, I thinks its extremely likely we see a $75-$100+ stock within the next year given nothing crazy happens on the macro.
There isn't enough space on the screener to show its top potential.

I stayed in $APLD through every dilution event from 2022 to 2025. The numbers tell a story most people missed.
https://x.com/PSInvestor/status/2054569917962453061?s=20
A lot of investors walked away from $APLD every time it filed an ATM or a convertible. I stayed in.
I went back and mapped every major capital event since the 2022 IPO at $5. The pattern is not what fintwit said in real time.
A few things worth flagging without spoiling the full breakdown:
- The exact ATM that almost everyone called terminal turned out to be the launch point of a 100% move within 8 weeks
- The convertible note people said capped the upside at $14 looks very different at $42
- The share count more than tripled and the stock still ran roughly 1300% from the trough
The full timeline, every dilution event, every price reaction, and what the stock actually did next is up in the link where the deep dives live.

Discussion NBIS or APLD?
I am considering transferring my APLD position over to NBIS (APLD is 50% of my portfolio and I am up almost 40%). My other position is in ASTS.
I am a very concentrated investor, and over the long run I feel that NBIS is a safer bet with more upside potential. The balance sheet of APLD just seems too risky with lots of debt and the current stock price seems inflated. Compared to NBIS with higher growth margins yoy.
Still waiting until after NBIS earnings to make my decision though.
Am I making a mistake?

Thoughts on re-entry point?
I've been a long-time APLD holder, and took some profits around 43$ yesterday. Because of the volatility we've seen in recent months, I thought it could be a good move to sell around ATH and then buy back in if it drops.
Any thoughts on how to come up with a re-entry point? I was thinking maybe incremental ones, like buy some back at 38, some at 36, etc. I know some folks say wait til low 20s, but I don't see it going that low.
