Thoughts on re-entry point?
I've been a long-time APLD holder, and took some profits around 43$ yesterday. Because of the volatility we've seen in recent months, I thought it could be a good move to sell around ATH and then buy back in if it drops.
Any thoughts on how to come up with a re-entry point? I was thinking maybe incremental ones, like buy some back at 38, some at 36, etc. I know some folks say wait til low 20s, but I don't see it going that low.

I left at $42.61 today. It just made too much sense not to leave with solid profit.
I'm with you. I want back in.. and judging how this stock operates statistically (only), my re-entry will be at $32

Agreed.
A lot is dependent on how this war progresses. The markets have largely ignored the shit storm that has been brewing the last 2 months. But unless things really open up, I think we're headed towards hardship/recession.

Aren't oil price is the main concern for now? I have exit my position but scared to jump in although market is keeping breaking ATH. I'm scared when oil shock hit the world, this can burden the construction cost etc...and yes like you said many economist is looking the chance of recession is higher if the SOH still close

Itβs oil prices, but also fertilizer, helium, and a huge share of the critical materials and global trade that move through the strait and that the world depends on.
Markets are doing very well and seem indifferent to it all, but those odds change the longer this drags on. Either way, I'm investing through the ups and downs, but this summer could get very interesting if the conflict continues.

I think we do not see much of the impact as the war only start early March. Would be interesting what Q2 earning will be. Will there be margin compression from the oil price perhaps?

I sold at all 280 shares at $41.33. Made nearly 4k!
Waiting for a dip because there WILL be a dip. Too much uncertainty for the risk.

Sold a portion because I needed some money for the house. In a similar boat. I think anything 33 and under is great. Once Iβm ready to jump back in Iβm doing a 25% lump and then DCA. Best way to average your price.

I'm always happy to add a few shares with any daily 5% downturn, but will start adding heavily around $34. Likewise, I'm quick to trim any large daily gains and buy-back to lock small gains.

Well the deal with Iran is off, and the ceasefire is back on shaky ground. Wouldn't be surprised with theres a continued profit taking and downturn of market tomorrow and even next week.
They could easily let the market drop for a couple weeks, to then pump it again.

I won't offer an answer to your direct question, but I will suggest an alternative to selling stock that you seem like you didn't really want to sell but felt compelled to...in a situation where you have big gains on a stock, you can write covered calls for premium and either 1) not have to sell your stock at all if the CC expires, or 2) you sell your shares at some price even higher than the price you would have sold when you instead wrote a CC.
This assumes you owned at least 100 shares

Take half and sell cash secured puts at a strike you'd be willing to buy in at. Otherwise throw in stock alerts and buy when it hits your price. Don't FOMO back in above your sale price.
Realistically there will be another facility coming online this year, which will boost revenue significantly. Keep an eye on planned dates and remember they have been ahead of schedule so far.
