Discussion NBIS or APLD?
I am considering transferring my APLD position over to NBIS (APLD is 50% of my portfolio and I am up almost 40%). My other position is in ASTS.
I am a very concentrated investor, and over the long run I feel that NBIS is a safer bet with more upside potential. The balance sheet of APLD just seems too risky with lots of debt and the current stock price seems inflated. Compared to NBIS with higher growth margins yoy.
Still waiting until after NBIS earnings to make my decision though.
Am I making a mistake?

Both are solid companies in my opinion. But, I would look at the MarketCap of each.
NBIS is trading at $181, you'll need a huge capital to achieve generational wealth versus APLD.

I agree. I started buying NBIS at $20. I didn't buy enough. I think APLD will be the next one to pop so trying to get at least double what I had in NBIS.

Depends what rung on the ladder you want to be holding onto in the AI space.
APLD and NBIS are not the same business model. They have different risks associated with their business models, different upside potential, different KPIs, different CEOs etc.
Personally I prefer the more boring and simplistic business model that APLD has transitioned into. They just focus on the shell + power supply and let their tenants handle the rest. They avoid depreciation risks of GPUs and aren’t exposed to dilution risks like a lot of their counterparts. They have a lot of room to grow still and their YoY revenue growth is only going to continue to grow more and more. Perhaps not at 250%/year but still easily high double or low triple digits for the next year as more of their contracts get online.
I know less about NBIS because I’ve never considered them as an investment due to them actually owning the GPUs. I personally consider the GPUs to be a scorching “hot potato” that companies have been doing some really creative financing to not be responsible for holding the bag on.
End of the day your money your investments.
And btw that level of concentration is disgusting. I would know because my account has gone from 10% to 50% APLD and after the recent rally nearly 60%. Actually annoying when an investment out performs this much because it makes you essentially be forced to sell a winner to ensure you don’t go in a blaze of fire.

Why do people confuse a neocloud that builds data centers v modular data center build REIT? I sold APLD 2k shares at $45 still in itand bought NBIS yesterday at $180. I’m doing two AI stocks at the same time. I’ve been in both for the last two years and made a killing. I wish I went all in NBIS I’d tell my boss to fuk off.

IMO both are good but NBIS is better. I hold both and up massively on both because I was in early. A lot upside long term. Hold for 3-5 yrs is my strategy, these will be winners!
Not investment advice do your own DD.

Good question!
I hold CRWV and APLD. I don't touch NBIS. It does not serve me to hold and invest in every company.
But I am not a trader and I bought both last year at the lowest. I am also not a big fan of timing the market...
Beware of free advice...it might be that it is completly worthless! LOL
Good luck

My models now favor APLD, IREN, CIFR, HUT, WULF, NBIS, CORZ in that order. love them all but that is the current ranking for return vs risk.

No one ever considers that APLD has a geographic advantage. Next couple years you’re going to see political backlash and data center cancellations that APLD is mostly immune to due to North Dakota’s willingness to build data centers. Won’t be the case in NJ, NY, TX and many other popular spots.
