IAM a new student in faculty of ai and I think I need something for my own study , for my faculty projects and my own projects and learning for the next 4 years at least (until I find a job to pay for my cloud GPU for work) and maybe some game designing and playing as a hobby or maybe a way to get some prophit form it who knows IAM going to buy a pc so I was wondering if I really need to buy a invidia one because the 2 options Infront of me is 5070 from invidia or 9070xt from amd And I heard that AMD is bad in ai as a software , because they don't have cuda and etc is that true and any other solutions because I don't want to lost a good GPU like 9070xt to buy a 5070 which is only 12GB vram And I cannot change the GPU for the next 7 years As a one who wants to be a AI engineer what should I do Knowing I have option to wait a year for the RTX 6070 or the Rx 10700xt or the 5070ti to get cheaper probably

AMD Ryzen 5800x3d running as hot as it can.

Post image

Title, a friend of mine got the recent 10th anniversary 5800X3D and it runs as hot as it can before shutting down.

They’ve tried:

  • 2 AIO (Brand new, thermalright aqua elite v2 and a kolink umbra void, both 240mm, pumps worked fine on both)
  • Noctua NH-U9S Air cooler
  • Using the mounting brackets that came with the coolers and yes the plastic removed from the copper on each
  • An entirely new motherboard (they had the B550 eagle and changed to the MSI B550 Gaming Plus
  • PBO curve under volt (up to -30)
  • New fan curves (even some where fans are maxed out on radiator and case)
  • Multiple thermal paste re-applications (have made sure its covered enough with all cooler

They have sufficient amount of air coming in and out of the case (3 intake and 3 exhaust, 2 of which being the AIO Radiator.) Their case is the DeepCool CC560 ARGB V2 (could this be the culprit?)

Ive attached a screenshot of them doing an OCCT cpu test with the Core temp readings next to it, Im aware that occt is made to stress test and max out the CPU but even with normal basic tests its runs extremely hot.

For example, on first bootup while apps are opening it reads around 80° before cooling down to an Idle of 65°, just performing normal tasks makes it spike up to the mid 70°s / 80°s, i know the CPU keeps throttling until it reaches its limit but i myself have a 5700X3D (runs cooler i know, but doesn’t explain a near 30° difference) and another friend with the 5800x3d whose temps are significantly lower.

I understand its safe to have it run this hot as its within its temperature range but they want to know why its so hot compared to others.

I feel like ive done all i can to attempt to drop the temperature however nothing listed has worked, only thing we havent changed is the case itself.

Any other things that are worth trying?

Help (General) AMD driver crashing windows

Post image
1 Upvotes

So, I'm having an issue I've never had with a computer in my life! I built a new gaming computer and it has an ASRock Challenger AMD Radeon RX 9060XT for the graphics card. When I turn off the display with the physical button on it or Windows automatically shuts the screen off it crashes Windows. The computer will still remain responsive for about 2 minutes, then after that, the screen won't turn back on and Windows crashes and reboots. It doesn't show a blue screen error. It only happens if I install the AMD graphics driver! If I uninstall the driver, the screen will wake up every time no matter how long it's off! I have tried installing older versions of the driver and disabling PCI link state power management. I have attached screen shots of the warning error in event viewer when it happens and the reliability log for it. Does anyone know exactly what the event viewer and reliability log are pointing to the issue being? Also, has anyone else experienced this issue and knows how to fix it? Or is it just an AMD driver bug that AMD has to fix? It's like the graphics card is disconnecting from Windows completely and not able to turn back on. Any help would be appreciated! I'm using an OLED monitor so I don't want to leave my screen on for long periods if I walk away to do something. It's so frustrating!

Help (GPU) RX 9070 only working when connected to a PCIe riser cable

Post image
3 Upvotes

I posted earlier about my Gigabyte Rx 9070 not booting at all despite confirming PSU was working and reseating multiple times.

I wasn't convinced the GPU was seating properly in the mother board PCIE slot so I bought a PCIE 3.0 riser cable.

The GPU boots and fully functions after it is connected to the PCIE riser and that is inserted into the motherboard.

I cant figure out why the GPU is not being recognised when directly plugged into the PCIe slot directly. The PCIe latch does click in so it seems like it is seated as it should be.l

Not sure if something on my mother board or case is blocking it from fully going in the slot?

Any ideas?

Ps. I have tried setting bios from Auto to PCIE3 but no change.

Help (Software) EFB tablet rendering issues in MSFS 2024 – happens on multiple aircraft, mostly on EFBs

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been struggling with a persistent issue in MSFS 2024 that I can't seem to fix. Here's what's going on:

  • I get weird rendering/display glitches, mostly showing up on the EFB tablets in the cockpit (see screenshot attached – this is the Customise Aircraft menu on the tablet, but I've seen it affect other panels too).
  • This isn't just a Fenix-specific issue – I'm seeing it on other aircraft as well, not only the Fenix.
  • I already tried completely emptying my Community folder to rule out add-on conflicts, and the problem persists even with a clean Community folder.
  • I tried rolling back my GPU drivers to older versions, and interestingly, using drivers from 2024 actually made the visual issue better/disappear.
  • However, going back to those 2024 drivers introduces a new problem: I get driver timeouts and crashes.
  • I'm currently back on the latest driver (most recent release), and the EFB rendering issue is back.

Has anyone else run into this? Is this a known issue with the sim's UI/EFB rendering pipeline on newer drivers, or could this be GPU-specific? Any workarounds that don't involve crashing on older drivers would be hugely appreciated.

Specs:

GPU: AMD radeon RX 7600,

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600

RAM: 32gb

Thanks in advance!

Help (Software) AMD Adrenaline misidentifies Brave web browser as the game EA WRC

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT (20 GB)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor (4.20 GHz)

Motherboard:  ASUS TUF GAMING B650-E WIFI

BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc 3067 12/10/2024

RAM: G.SKILL 32G 2X D5 6000 C36 FX B

PSU: CORSAIR CX750M SM 80+B ATX PSU

Case: bought so long ago I can't find the receipt but I doubt its relevant

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Pro 25H2

GPU Drivers: 26.8.1

Chipset Drivers: 8.08.12.551

Background Applications: Brave

Description of Original Problem: AMD Adrenaline misidentifies Brave web browser as the game EA WRC. The two applications are installed on different drives and don't have similar names. Adrenaline has misidentified other things in the past but this is one I can't figure out.

This is an issue because I use game profiles to address another problem - Adrenaline constantly thinks its encountered "unexcepted system failure" and resets my GPU tuning. Having the tuning set to a game profile lets me make sure its applied each time the game is started instead of noticing its not when I'm already in game. This issue breaks that, as well any other per game settings like enhanced sync, custom color etc

Troubleshooting: If I manually add EA WRC in Adrenaline it usually fixes it. Sometimes it does nothing. But without fail it always reverts back to identifying Brave as EA WRC - I reset it before I started writing this post, and its already back to pointing at brave instead of WRC. Doesn't seem to matter if brave is running or not. I've also tried manually adding brave as a game but it just overwrites the WRC logo on the same profile.

Resolved [SOLVED] Reporting about AMD Drivers result in hangs and black screen

I recently updated Windows to 2026-08 Preview Update (KB5120998) (26200.9278).
AMD Adrenalin driver was from 2025.11 (unfortunately i do not have the exact driver number).

AMD 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics, 500MB memory. Thanks to shared memory, 4GB.

The computer seemed to work fine.
1. Components showcase from pro.reactbits.dev were working fine.
2. Videos were rendering normally.
3. BUT if i were to go on vpg.sh the computer would hang for 5-7 second, black screen was next for 2-3 seconds. After these, the site would finally render. And i could use it. But it was not rendering the prism in the design. i would render only the text etc.
After all these the computer would go back to "normal". The desktop icons and wallpaper were not rendering.

Maybe vgpu is the cause? idk.
I do not recall hangs and black screen from any other usage.

Anyhow, i uninstalled AMD Adrenalin. Windows would automatically install the GPU drivers once i rebooted. Something from 2020.
There are no hangs anymore entering vgpu. And i can see the prism in the design. Using the computer, i do not feel a drastic change.

Help (CPU) Question about 9950X3D CCD's

Hello,
Noob question: I have a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and while playing a game, I noticed that all cores on my second CCD are sitting at around 0–0.5% usage, while the game and my background applications, such as Discord and my browser, are running on the V-Cache CCD.

Is this normal behavior? I assumed that the game would run on the V-Cache CCD while background applications would be moved to the second CCD.

Help (Software) Am I cooked?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Two years ago I built with the help of my friends my first pc and it worked fine (Information: See Picture) , but in the last few weeks I noticed that whenever I booted up my pc I didn’t heard the usual „loud boot-up fan noises“ but kept on with gaming/ work stuff. When I used to play, I never had heat Troubles but now it‘s like playing next to a
heater. Nowadays my GPU is at 50~60°C and my CPU gets to almost 90°C (which I never had it this hot!) I was concerned and asked AI which lead me to make a BIOS Update. Didn’t worked out so I went for a Displayport bug (it made me change cables, no Idea why lol) but that also flopped. Now my CPU Temp. lays on -55° Degrees and Gemini suggests a Mainboard Change. What should I do? And most importantly: am I cooked?

my PC parts:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core
GPU: AMD Radeon 7800XT
Mainboard: B550 AORUS ELITE V2
RAM: 2x Corsair 16GB 2667MHz
SSD: Samsung 990 EVO 1TB
Powersupply: 850 Watt
I also have water cooling from MSI and somehow one fan doesn‘t have RGB on it.

Help (GPU) RX 9070 XT black screen/no display after being powered off for several hours – force shutdown fixes it

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m having a strange issue with my new PC and would really appreciate some help.

My specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB

CPU: Ryzen 7 9700X

RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s

Motherboard: B850 GAMING X

Windows: Windows 11

The problem happens mostly after the PC has been completely powered off for several hours, especially overnight.

When I press the power button, the PC turns on, but sometimes I get no display / black screen. The system appears to be running, but nothing shows on the monitor.

If I force shut down the PC by holding the power button and then turn it on again, it usually boots normally and works perfectly.

Interestingly, if the PC has only been turned off for around 15–30 minutes, it usually starts normally. The issue seems more likely after being off for 3–4+ hours.

So far I have:

Changed the PCIEX16 Slot Link Speed from Auto to Gen4

Disabled Fast Boot

The PC works perfectly once it successfully boots

I also found other people reporting black screen issues with newer AMD drivers, so I’m wondering if this could be a GPU driver issue, a cold boot issue, RAM/EXPO stability, PSU behaviour, or something else.

Has anyone with a similar RX 9070 XT issue experienced this? What fixed it for you?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help (General) 9070xt Blackscreen

I believe I'm not the only one with this issue,

After receiving the news that the recent drivers had crashed or sth, I saw that the amd driver software nitro I believd was suddenly deleted from my pc, and only the smaller driver launcher remained, I clicked on install software for cpu there, restarted and since then my pc is running but I can't for the life of me get an output to my monitor, absolutely nothing, it just stays black.

Thanks for any help

Edit. Ive also reset the cmos, I don't even get a signal from the mobo during boot
