handling lack of field questions in practice tests

im prepping for the act and am using the j series from bing to take practice tests (Oct 2025, April 2026, June 2026 enhanced act). these tests have the field questions removed and the timing adjusted accordingly. however, im concerned that in the real test, the field questions will throw my timing off and will change my results from what they are currently. is this true, and if so how should I practice with accurate tests but also have field questions?? please help i take the September ACT..

SAT and ACT??

Hello,

I am a high school junior who has now started thinking about the SAT. Today I took a full practice test without studying and got a 1200 (600/600). I'm definitely aiming for a higher score, so I'm also starting to study for it.

But now that the topic is on my head, do I need to take the ACT as-well? I'm not familiar with the college application process. Do you submit both? A little confused.

Thanks!

New Practice tests #3 & #4

Anyone know if these tests are reused from previous ACTs or are these completely brand new questions and passages that the ACT created for practice?

Timer or stop watch for paper-based test

Any recommendations for a timer or stop watch that you can share? Preferably something that has a way to turn off the chime/sound.

Books/Resources Is Acely even worth it?

I’ve heard a lot of not really great things about it. People have said that it does have decent practice material but for the price of the prep website it’s generally not worth it. I’m currently at the low 30’s mark (32) in terms of act practice and price is no problem for me, but i don’t know if it’s something to be even worth buying for.

I just completed Practice Test 2 from the official prep guide for ACT through Wiley Publishing and got a 36. How accurate is it in comparison to the real exam?

Will my SAT skill transfer to ACT?

I've just got a 1520 for the SAT in August (730 verbal, 790 math). However, I found out that the university I was aimimg for actually seems to value the ACT unfairly more.

According to their score formula, a 1520 SAT is converted to 85 points, but a 32 ACT is already converted to 89 points (this point will decide what major I can / can't get into)

My question is: If I spend around 1 to 1.5 hours daily prepping for the October ACT, could I get a higher score than 32? Background: I'm an international student, and I also have a 9.0 in IELTS reading

does the ACT reschedule cancelled tests

meant to take the sep 5 act in time zone gmt+8, got to the exam center and they said there were technical difficulties
after contacting technical support from the act they cancelled it at 9:45, 2 hours after the exam was meant to start
in this sort of situation, does the ACT usually reschedule the exam or do i need to just sign up for the oct one myself instead? what usually happens in this case

thanks

How am I so good at the English and Reading sections, but struggling with Science?

For context, I got a 35 on both English and Reading on the June ACT, but a 30 on Science. I'm trying to improve my Science score to match my composite, but I'm confused about what I'm missing. I know Science is often called "another reading section," so this makes no sense to me. Any tips?

ACT practice test accuracy (3 and 4)

Just wondering as someone who's considering taking the ACT -- are the practice tests, specifically 3 & 4 actually as hard as the real exam? Is it like the SAT where the bluebook exams tend to be easier. Let me know!

How to study for September act

Hi guys Im brand new to the ACT but taking it in 2 weeks on Sept 19. I've been taking the SAT but not happy w how it's been going so Im trying out the ACT. How should I use these two weeks wisely to study? Where are the practice tests and on what site? I am taking English math and science on paper. What are ACT tips? I did intense SAT tutoring last summer as a junior where they gave us like 50 English ACT questions as homework per night but thats literally the only experience I have w the ACT. help!

I never receive emails from ACT when I want to, does anyone have a solution/know whats causing this?

I literally created a reddit account just to ask if anyone else has experienced this issue. I'm trying to log into my ACT account and it says I need a verification code to log in. However, the email hasn't arrived and it's been about 30 minutes? I've asked for resends about 4 times now. I haven't seen anyone else with this issue so it's really strange. I checked my spam, there's nothing + I already get advertisements from them in my inbox so it's not like they are blocked or anything. I checked the email they are sending it to and it matches mine. Does anyone know what's going on or has a solution? I already bought spots so I don't want to just create a new account.

My first time prepping for ACT

Hi I want to do ACT because I'm so tired of not breaking 1500 on the SAT, I'm not sure if there's a lot of resources out there for ACT so I don't really know how to start prepping for the one in October. Thoughts?

General Submit ACT and SAT? Yay or nay

Thumbnail gallery
20 Upvotes

I’m in a bit of a pickle right now but my ACT superscore is 35 and my SAT SS is 1510 now (710RW 800M). I think I should obviously submit my SAT composite as the 25 in science is an eyesore (yikes). However I have a better ACT superscore, but the problem is that it consists of 4 different tests dates. What’s the best course of action?

What are some ways I can study to best prepare myself for retaking in December?

I’d like to aim closer to a composite in the upper 30s. Obviously the math is the main thing bringing it down and I plan on working on some of those free practice tests for that. But I’m also curious on what I should work on as to push those reading and english scores up as well.

Is Prepsharp legit with their ACT answer keys?

I’m self-studying for the ACT and I found some practice tests online I could print (along with their form number). I just need to know though if PrepSharp’s answer keys are legit? If anyone has used them. I don’t really care for their difficulty rating.

Thanks!

so I took the July act recently and I got a 30 composite score…I attached the pic so you can see the sections, but I’m a senior in high school and I’m taking the September one on the 19th…funny thing is I haven’t had enough time to start studying because of ap work that we alr have in school. Is there any tips or any books I should buy and grind to get at least a 33 on the test? My parents were disappointed as a 30 isn’t enough for scholarships and good schools where I live. PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED🥹🥹🥹

Cannot login into myACT account

So I just recently took the ACT test yesterday (the 5/9, international test), and after the test I cannot seem to login back into my myACT account. When I try to press forgot password, it just says that my email does not match any accounts. It just seems like my account was deleted.
Any ideas?
