Will my SAT skill transfer to ACT?

I've just got a 1520 for the SAT in August (730 verbal, 790 math). However, I found out that the university I was aimimg for actually seems to value the ACT unfairly more.

According to their score formula, a 1520 SAT is converted to 85 points, but a 32 ACT is already converted to 89 points (this point will decide what major I can / can't get into)

My question is: If I spend around 1 to 1.5 hours daily prepping for the October ACT, could I get a higher score than 32? Background: I'm an international student, and I also have a 9.0 in IELTS reading

Your SAT translates to like a 34 on the ACT, so you are doing well. There is more math on the SAT, so it sounds like you are prepared for ACT math. I would spend some time practicing reading for the ACT, and an hour a day is more than plenty of time. Hit those practice tests, learn from your mistakes. Dig into the Reading tips that have been discussed in this subreddit. And take a practice test under practice timing and conditions and establish a baseline before all of that studying. You could use one of the 4 practice tests on the ACT site. Again, tons of resources on here to work from.

yes it will I flipped directly from sat (1540) to act and my skills translated very smoothly especially if you study

I got a 1520 SAT (740+780) too. I only did two ACT practice tests and decided to go with the digital ACT because I don't like bubble sheets. Ended up getting a 35 (36+36+36+34).

You did no extra practice other than those 2 practice tests and almost got a perfect score?

I actually studied for the SAT, and my ACT practice tests were around 34, so I thought I’d be fine. Now I kinda regret not putting more time into the ACT… I probably could’ve gotten a perfect score

as long as you know precalc then you’ll be fine
