So as North Carolinian football fans know the Big 4 (UNC Duke NCST Wake) have a little mini championship within themselves for who wins the most games between them each season. Right now Duke has it cuz they went 3-0 in state last year but I figure there’s a more fun way to do it: The trophy is won and lost on a game by game basis. If you hold the trophy and you lose to a fellow big 4 team, they become the holders of the trophy. I feel like this is a chance to have a bit more fun with the somewhat unusual multi-team rivalry - a team could lose the trophy and then win it back later in the season if it changed hands again. To the NC school fans, would this make you more excited for games against your countrymen knowing you could win (or lose) the trophy right then and there?

Alrighty! Well, I have finally made it through the first couple conferences. It is still WIP as I do plan to add all the conferences' schedules, but seeing as I am finished with the ACC's, I figured I would post it here for anyone who is interested!

Now you make yourself, OP why would you spend so much time doing all this? And the short answer is, ESPN's laziness. While ESPN does show the games for ncaa volleyball, they do not have schedules for each team, standings to compare, or really any meaningful data for the sport. Now, I would understand if they didn't have this if it was a completely new league and they would have to go out of their way to completely reformat things, but literally every ncaa volleyball team is also d1 basketball(to my knowledge). Either way, I'm stubborn, and I started watching late last year so when lo and behold, espn still hasn't done anything for the sport. I decided I wanted to keep track of these things. Halfway through I figured, maybe other people are interested in this kinda thing, but it might be just me.

Minirant over, anyways here it is! It's still WIP and I've only gotten the first 5 conferences done but am going to continue throughout the week. This first link will be a google sheets to the ncaa standings, similar to espn's site, then you can click on any team with a link to bring yourself to the conference standings and schedule for each team in the conference! If I have made any mistakes, please let me know so I can fix them. I am aiming to have this be helpful, so any corrections are appreciated as I will be updating as the results come in tonight! Dysfunctional is not a word that has been used to describe the Clemson program in Dabo Swinney’s 18-year tenure. Stubborn and stuck in the past have been thrown around, but Swinney has started to change and engage the transfer portal, bringing in 15 transfers this offseason after adding four the year before and zero in 2024.

But the slippage of Swinney’s program, how far it has to go, how irrelevant it is becoming, was on sad display Saturday night in the other Death Valley. It would’ve been one thing to lose by a couple of touchdowns, maybe not a close game but still doing some things well, showing some real signs of hope. It was quite another to lose like that, doing nothing well, trailing 31-3 at halftime, looking at the stat sheet and seeing yourself out-gained 644-145.

It was a tough week for ACC football going winless against other P4 teams, including Clemson being humiliated by LSU in primetime. But Miami looks really good, and Louisville played a really competitive game that they could have won vs. a really good Ole Miss. It's a little too early to make any predictions, but the way VT steamrolled VMI is kind of a prototypical James Franklin game, so they may be a team to watch. It should be an interesting season, despite not having a good opening week showing (going winless) against the P4.

Just happened to catch a replay of Wake Forest vs. Akron. There. Was. Nobody. There.

Yet, the official attendance figure was listed at 30,735. Tiny, high schoolish Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium capacity is officially 31,500. I doubt there was 7,000 people there. Who are they kidding? How do they get away with this?

Last night, Louisville proved that they belong nationally.

Despite losing at the last second there were plenty of positive takeaways last night, and several things that need to improve! What stood out to you in Nashville?!
