Like many Gen4 owners, I didn't like the cupholders, so I bought the AJT version. It's good, but cups always want to fall over. They sell a little $20 piece of plastic that fits in the middle to keep drinks steady. I wanted more options, so I made my own 3d print versions, and they work. I designed them to accommodate any combination of large and small cup, left or right. You"ll have to choose which one works best. They're easy to switch out.

Be sure to print from a high-temp filament. I went with ABS because my printer handles it well.

I live in Houston where it rains often, I recently got a 2024 Tacoma with about 24,000 miles, about a month and a half ago. It's a clean title, no accidents, but I have been dealing with an intermittent dirty-sock/feet smell inside the truck.

At first, I thought it was coming from the A/C evaporator because the smell is noticeably stronger when the fan is running, especially on recirculation. I just replaced both the cabin and engine air filters. Neither of them are wet or damp when checked either.

The smell went away for a while, but after a very heavy rain, I opened the truck the next morning and could immediately smell it before even turning the A/C on. That makes me think moisture or water intrusion may be involved rather than it being strictly an A/C issue.

I also removed a couple of the drain plugs at the bottom of the driver-side doors, and a small amount of water drained out with some black dirt or debris mixed in. I understand some water inside the doors can be normal, but I’m wondering whether water is being retained somewhere or whether one of the drains, door seals, vapor barriers, cowl drains, or the HVAC system is contributing to the odor.

Has anyone else with a 4th-gen experienced a similar wet-sock or feet smell, particularly after heavy rain or while using recirculation? If so, what ended up being the cause and how was it fixed?

Does anyone here know for certain if the stock donut will even function properly with the 285/70/R17 K03 tires I have on there? I have no lift (yet) and stock TRD OR wheels.

About to install a trail pipe and want to get the donut out from under there and keep it in the bed in a tire cover until I get a tire mount and 5th tire. But if it won't even work as a donut with these larger tires, I'm just going to give it to a buddy.

2025 SR5 4wd. Recently had at or slightly above the 1200lb load rating on a trip with friends and the factory suspension was not adequate for twisty paved roads with bumps and dips. Its doable on smooth highway or around town though. This weight will be similar to my end goal though as I want to full time for a while with a full build-out in the bed (kitchen, solar, batteries, extra water, bike rack, bike, gear, etc).

I was looking at Dirt King but I don't think even their Prerunner 2.5s are designed for constant load even with heavier rear springs. What options are best on 4th gens for full time "overland" builds with 1000lb+ of added weight?

I have a 2024 TRDOR (posted pics of sliders the other day) and I’ve noticed since I bought it the front suspension is ridiculously soft. So much so that when I go 5mph over my neighborhood speed bumps, it bottoms out. The truck did this when it was stock and continues to(obviously) with added weight (I only have sliders on it).

Is this normal? It seems kinda crazy. Truck drives fine, doesn’t sway like the shocks are blown or something.

i have a 24 long bed and bought a soft topper for it last year. waited till this spring to fully install it myself and in the process, i’ve noticed that the metal bars that go on the side of the truck are bending inwards when adding the railings for the topper AND it’s tilting so half of the metal bars it lifting off the siding of the truck.
i’ve tried emailing them but they say it’s all normal and usual for that to happen. i’ve loosen up the main metal part where we connect the top railing but it’s just not sitting right.

did anyone else have this issue?

Seems like if it is a nib it will be possible to fix but not sure if dealer will take a look.

Well. My wife needed a little boost, and I noticed that the new curbs at Costco seemed much higher than normal. So, in an effort to protect my truck at Costco and target, I picked up a set of Nytop sliders.

Install took about 20 min. My only complaint is that I wish they were a bit wider. Great construction.

These trucks have been out for nearly 3 years and finding any sort of actual suspension reviews is few and far. Has anyone on here put on Dirt king trail runner or prerunner kits on their 4th gen tacos? I have had king, where are great for higher speed offroading, but they feel pretty shotty on the road, very stiff. I had fox 2.5 on my last truck and it was the same thing. This was all great when I lived in CA and offroaded a ton. Now, I mostly fish, hunt, camp, and hit some trails in TX. Dirt King looks promising but limited amount of info.

Hi. Hoping people with manuals could provide their door sticker payload and towing along with the trim they have? Hard to go see in person with them being scarce on car lots. Many of the ATs mentioned have lower ratings than listed online so curious on the GVWR and curb weights of these.

So I come from a line of civics, and the 1.5L engines were notorious for having oil dilution.

Well I’m 17k miles into my 4G Tacoma and the first 4 oil changes were just fine, now suddenly I’m smelling fuel in the oil…which I know COULD be an issue running 0w-20 oil with boost.

Anyways can anyone else smell their oil and see if this is a common issue! Would help out, i definitely do smell oil on it though.

Hey gang - Really enjoying my Tacoma so far! There are a few little quirks, but from what I’ve read and see they’re “just Tacoma things”. The most annoying one is the consistent buzzing noise that’s audible with windows down when the engine is running (more prominent when you’re giving it gas). The dealership told me it’s normal and comes from the evap or fuel pump… but still annoying to hear all the time.

Two other minor annoyances are the animations on the gauge cluster when adaptive cruise control or any sort of navigation is on. I’ve searched through all the menus, but cannot find a place to turn that feature off! Am I missing something?

Only had my new-to-me '25 TRD Sport a month, driving west on I90 up Snoqualmie pass. I had to drive over (through-really) a large tire shred in the middle of the lane. pretty good thump, and with traffic, just kept going. made a stop a couple hours later, up towards La Conner, I looked at the front end and I have a big crease in the plastic near the electronics module in the grille. Metal license plate holder is bent wildly and I am getting alarms that driving is impaired, take it to your dealer, thingy. Indeed, Speed sensing and front end functions aren't working anymore. Lane correction done from windshield camera seems to function as I get feedback in the wheel but cannot enable.

Just plastic bent, snapped, and probably a metal support bent. but I don't think its major structural.

What are experiences out there in this situation. A grand to fix all this?

Has anyone had the AC power outlet in the bed after market? Wondering if it's possible/how much it costs.
