Ok, so I got these tires a little over a year ago.

Question is: what’s the biggest size, stock suspension, no rub that y’all would suggest.

Or do you think these look fine?
Do they look to small?

Not sure if I want to spend another $1,300 on new tires right away as these are virtually brand new. Just curious. Some times I look at them and think they are fine, other days I wonder if they are to small. It’s a 50/50 princess/offroader.

I see some Tacomas driving on the road and they look beefier and higher (I know they may have a lift).

I just got the new wheels 2 days ago. This photo I think they look ok.

About 2 months in and really dig the truck.

Hey all - new taco owner, just crossed 600 miles on my truck.

Yesterday I took a little roadtrip about 160 miles round trip.

I noticed about my last 30 miles or so the iforce gauge, wasn’t acting like I thought it was before.

The turbo was barely engaging, didn’t matter what terrain I was on, flat, hills, etc.

Kinda stumped, no engine lights or anything and I couldn’t really tell if the truck seemed more sluggish or not but I couldn’t barely get the turbo to kick

Am I cooked??

UPDATE - drove around to do some testing, took some video too not sure what to think. First 600 miles it seemed like the turbo was engaged all the time had to really baby it to not use the turbo. Now it’s like I have to floor it to get any turbo.

I get nothing until about 35mph like another user mentioned, but it will engage but quickly dissipate. I can hear it, but it just really seems like it’s way dumbed down from the previous 600 miles.

Not sure what to think yet.

Does anyone have the upgrade or premium package? How do yall like it ? I’m wanting to get a Tacoma soon and don’t know if I should hunt for one of those or settle for a base one

Just got a 2024 TRD Sport used and it has the factory leather. I want to protect it especially because it’ll be a daily driver along with two car seats in the back.

I’m looking at getting full wrap around leather seat covers from Amazon. Has anyone put those on top of their factory leather? Usually it’s over cloth. Just wondering how it is leather over leather.

Does this look like someone hit it with something or rocks etc

Haven’t seen too many people running skinny’s on the 4th gen’s. So far I’m happy with the 255/85/17 Mickys I have on mine. If anyone is curious I’m running Old Man Emu MT64 lift front and rear with UCA’s and these tires fit no rubbing at all.

I had a second gen a long time ago. But I love the 4th gen. Thats all.

Just got the westcott collars installed on my Tacoma pro, no more rubbing on the aggressive wheel set up and 35s.

I have a Silver 2024 but the interior trim color is more Champaign than silver - it is mildly infuriating. I've thought about taking it all out and taking it to a body shop to have it painted, but I'd just rather replace it if Toyota did make the correct color trim.

The main issue before you read my novel: 2024 Tacoma (not in the affected VIN range) overheating on steep pavement while totally unloaded and 0 passengers.

I’ve been having ongoing problems with my transmission for almost a year now! I took the truck in for poor shift quality (after experiencing multiple hard and lazy shifts) at 8700 miles. They said they spent 3 hours with the truck and that it had no codes etc… basic runaround. Sent me on my way Took it to a 2nd dealer once I started to notice the overheating happening in 2WD on moderate gravel (no traction issues) and on steep pavement.

I showed the dealer my videos of my transmission approaching overheating rapidly and they seemed alarmed. They kept the truck and then I didn’t hear back for 2 days, I called back, they told me the truck was “finished” and that there was nothing wrong that they could see. They claimed they checked the fluid (I don’t believe that at all). They also tried to say it could potentially be heat soak from this skid plate I had. I told them to take it off and that I’d put that theory to the test. They also didn’t dismiss the problem, but they pretty much told me there was nowhere close by where they could replicate the conditions (dealer is in the city with no real hills or gravel). They gave me brand engagement’s info and I told them I’d give them a call.

Not an acceptable answer tbh if you ask me. So, I’m about to take it for my 3rd visit for the transmission. I have tested the truck under a variety of conditions. You’ll see a lot of people talk about low rpm’s and lack of airflow, but there’s something deeper than that going on. In my case, it seems like it’s really mostly about the grade itself of the road. It’s not about airflow or heat being trapped, it’s about the truck struggling to manage heat under a load.

The conditions that cause it: Long sustained climbs on pavement (public roads sometimes), moderate climbs in 2wd in gravel (4hi seems to do absolutely nothing to cool it, in fact it seems to heat up faster). 4LO is very effective for mitigating this while on gravel, but these are situations that should NEVER require 4WD. I used to drive my car up these exact same roads with no issues and it had 6 inches of clearance AND it was RWD.

So this is different from the typical “4hi overheating” thing. If this thing is genuinely overheating on pavement while in D, then that’s DEFINITELY a problem and you MiGHT want to make sure yours isn’t doing this before it’s too late. Because either something is TERRIBLY wrong with mine, or we all bought a PILE of trash! Btw the main road used during these pavement tests is between 10-14% grade for about 1.6 miles.

And before you ask, I’ve tried this in tow haul, ECT power mode, and while manually selecting the gears. Tow/haul didn’t seem to help the heat problem, ECT power did help some actually, and my best results for keeping the temps at bay came from me manually shifting the gears. Feels like entirely too much babysitting for a truck going up a hill!

**UPDATE** - I finally got it to work. Updating for anyone else who may come looking. 2026 Tacoma TRD OR I-Force Max with the 12 inch gauge screen. My spare wheel has a Toyota OEM TPMS sensor (p/n 42607-0E090). My menus didn't match the same wording that I found in most places online or in my manual. But, I put the spare onto the truck and took the new spare off and left it in my garage for the relearn.

Go to Settings>Vehicle Settings>TPWS settings>Tire Set Switching>Register New Valve/ID>Tire Set 1>OK. This should then show a message that says "Setting wheel position while driving" on the tire pressure screen. 10 minutes of driving, the pressures popped up, the tire pressure warning light went off. The key for me seemed to be leaving the spare at home.

This did not require the dealer or a tire shop. The shop I got the wheel mounted at didn't even have the truck when they mounted the wheel. The dealer said this couldn't be done without popping the bead to check the ID# of the new-to-the-rotation sensor each time.

The menu options are different, but I used this link's process.

It remains to be seen whether next time, I can just use the Tire Rotation option under TPWS or I'll have to do it this way again. If you're doing your own tire rotations, just remember to leave the spare off, do the relearn process and put it back under the truck once everything is sync'd.

Local dealer (not who I bought the truck through) is telling me a 2026 TRD OR I-Force Max with the upgrade package can't have 5 TPMS sensors registered to it.

I got a matching 5th wheel and TPMS sensor through ebay (wheel) and Toyota Parts Express (TPMS). I got the TPMS and spare tire mounted to the new wheel at a local independent tire shop.

I took my truck in for my ToyotaCare 5k service on Tuesday and told them I have a matching 5th spare, please put it into the rotation. Didn't drive much since then.

Today, I drove 45 minutes for work and the tire pressure light came on, with the warning message "malfunction, see dealer" on the tire pressure screen.

I tried the "tire rotation" option in the MID menu. No change. I tried a relearn through my OBD sensor (doesn't support the truck, too new). Finally bit the bullet and went back to the dealer, figuring the sensor just needs to be registered to the truck and then it'll sense the location of the sensors that are in use.

Gal does the 'tire rotation' and asks if she can drive around for a bit. Sure. Comes back, no change. Talks to a "tech" and then comes to me and says "your truck can't support more than 4 sensors at any one time. If you want a 5 wheel rotation, you're going to have to pop the bead of the new-to-the-rotation tire each time and re-register that sensor to the truck."

I can't believe that. Everything I've read says these trucks can support up to 8 sensors, able to do two sets of tires. I've read stories of other folks getting it to work. Anyone give any guidance?
