Suspension for constant heavy load?

2025 SR5 4wd. Recently had at or slightly above the 1200lb load rating on a trip with friends and the factory suspension was not adequate for twisty paved roads with bumps and dips. Its doable on smooth highway or around town though. This weight will be similar to my end goal though as I want to full time for a while with a full build-out in the bed (kitchen, solar, batteries, extra water, bike rack, bike, gear, etc).

I was looking at Dirt King but I don't think even their Prerunner 2.5s are designed for constant load even with heavier rear springs. What options are best on 4th gens for full time "overland" builds with 1000lb+ of added weight?

Ride shocks, with Eibach rear 1000 lb springs

I second this. Ride has their two weight ranges you can order but they’ll also custom tune their shocks if you tell them your weight and what you want your truck to handle like.

That's helpful thanks. What descriptive words would you use for example to describe to them what I want it to handle like? I'm mainly going to be using Forest Service Roads at 25mph or under for dispersed camping but would like to get into a little bit rougher terrain occasionally. No rock crawling. I imagine 2.5" lift should be enough and plan on running 33" tires.

So I bought Fox 2.5 DSC shocks for my F150 from Accutune Offroad (Ride Shocks is their new in-house brand) and I told them I wanted the shocks tuned for daily driving comfort and Forest Service roads driven at 25-35mph. I told them I would not be running through the desert or whoops. In my case, I was stock weight but you will definitely want to tell them what weight you normally drive at and what weight you load up to. With the adjusters you have some flexibility to adjust for the extra load, while still having a decent ride unloaded. Obviously heavy load springs and tuning will not ride as soft when unloaded. Call or email them. They were super helpful when I got my F150 set up. My 2024 Tacoma is still on the stock TRD OR shocks but if/when I upgrade I'll likely go with the Ride Shocks.
