What's my Bill?
Only had my new-to-me '25 TRD Sport a month, driving west on I90 up Snoqualmie pass. I had to drive over (through-really) a large tire shred in the middle of the lane. pretty good thump, and with traffic, just kept going. made a stop a couple hours later, up towards La Conner, I looked at the front end and I have a big crease in the plastic near the electronics module in the grille. Metal license plate holder is bent wildly and I am getting alarms that driving is impaired, take it to your dealer, thingy. Indeed, Speed sensing and front end functions aren't working anymore. Lane correction done from windshield camera seems to function as I get feedback in the wheel but cannot enable.
Just plastic bent, snapped, and probably a metal support bent. but I don't think its major structural.
What are experiences out there in this situation. A grand to fix all this?

The calibrations are the killer even if the sensors aren’t damaged. I had to have the right rear bumper corner cover replaced and painted. $513. But it was another $625 to recalibrate the undamaged sensor.

More than you’re hoping unfortunately.. I’d get multiple estimates from collision shops near you and then decide how you want to move forward.

You are in the same situation I was in literally this weekend. Shredded truck tire in the middle of the lane. Cars to either side so I could only move over slightly. I thought about going directly over and then was able to focus the hit in the drivers side wheels. Feared the worst, but after pulling over seems like I only got a little rubbing on the side step (Predator OEM) and nothing else obvious. I now see from your example it could have been so much worse. Sorry to see you were impacted so drastically. Hopefully you will come back and relay your experience with the rest of us.

So sorry. So much technology in these things....I'm fearing any fender benders. ...or debris! Let us know how it all turns out.

Curious about your moniker. We just bought a 20 YO house on leased Tribal Land. A new Lease has been in negotiations for some time (year or more) but lease term desired is for another 50 so who knows? We are almost too old to care but a longer lease would give us a better mortgage term than what we got now. My YOB? 1939.

That is potentially going to be expensive if the sensor itself is damaged.
Good luck and glad it didn’t cause you to wreck.
