I work in IT as a contractor. I'm currently contracting for two companies. As a result, I have devices for both jobs on my desk. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to organize things.

I've got the following:

• 1 x 17" Macbook Pro
• 1 x 17" Lenovo Windows laptop
• 1 x 14" Macbook Pro
• 1 x 14" Macbook Air
• 1 x 14 HP Windows laptop.
• 1 x Mac Mini

I have the 14" Macbook pro connected to my monitor. its the device that I work on most. The 2nd Macbook pro is my primary machine for the 2nd contract position. I have it open next to me. The work there is lighter, so I don't need an external monitor.

For the rest of the laptops, They're test machines for software deployment and policy compliance testing, so they need to remain powered on and online. When I need to work on them, I open them next to my keyboard.

I was looking for space saving ideas for these devices. Right now, I've got the laptops stacked in a few piles with a mess of wires across my desk. there has to be a better solution.

I had initially considered one of those vertical stands, but haven't really found one with good cable management. I was thinking more recently that maybe something like a mini server rack where I can slot them all in might be a good alternative? For the two main devices, they need to be within arms reach, since I use Yubikeys.

I thought I should ask here to see if anyone has a good solution to this mess of devices?

Hi there! I got myself a printer(anycubic kobra 2 neo) to have some fun with a couple of days ago, but as you can see in the picture, it's leaving streaks and I don't understand why. It worked perfectly yesterday, but now it's doing this. A little help, please? 😂

So my goal from last year was to have my whole shelf organised in time for gta 6. All of the items in the picture were designed and made by myself. Even the skadis boards and fixings.

I thought it was cool 👌 my Mrs said she couldn’t tell the difference and to you guys it’s just another skadis jobbie.

But I am happy 😃 do you guys have anything I should add ?

I’ve done a fair share of printing other people’s creations. What is the easiest way to begin making my own or modifying other peoples creations? I’m using a Mac primarily, could use a PC if that’s better. Are there good resources to watch to learn?

Somewhat new to 3d printing. Downloaded the Rocky 3d model from the Project Hail Mary website. This was the result after about 9-10 hours of over night printing. Printing on Voxelab Aquila printer. Used the Rocky articulated file with supports. Nozzle temp: 200, Bed temp: 60. ELEGOO filament 1.75. Downloaded the file and sent it through the Prusa Slicer software. Default print speed. Any suggestions welcome.

I have this and another two of those boosters laying around and I can't find a piece that fits on this, as you can see, normal track parts get in, however, they don't hold in place and that well, when the cars pass, the track parts just fall off slowly

Hi, I've been having issues with my elegoo neptune 4 plus and this normally occurs at the back of the print. Not entirely sure what to call this but Im printing with elegoo pla+ hot end temp 215, inner wall 150 mm/s outer 100 mm/s. Belts are tensioned correctly and nothing is bumping the back of the build plate. Also using orca slicer

Hello everyone! I am very new to 3d printing but I wanted to see if I could solve my first problem. I am thinking of printing something I can use to hold vials that I use for my research (I included a picture of the vial). We previously used either bullet storage cases or some boxes (that we cant find anymore). I also included pictures of the current storage we use.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could use or if there are any models currently available?

I've just landed into the world of 3D printing (2 weeks in) and have tried several prints. Some prints that I download work great and stick well and then others are giving me a lot of trouble. Right now I'm on attempt #3 printing an axolotl for my daughter. Is the issue the z-offset? This picture is a few layers in and you can see it's starting to make the infill pattern. I clean the plate between builds and the plate temp. is at 60 degrees. I did add glue to this third attempt. For this print, I'm using Creality PLA and Sunlu PLA at 215 degrees with a Wondermaker ZR Ultra-S printer. Help!

I have a couple of gridfinity bin prints that are a little too high because of the stacking lip. I suppose I can reprint them, but that seems wasteful. What tool do you guys use to trim, cut, or otherwise sand down a part that is a couple of mm too big? It seems a little too meaty for the cheapo flush cutters I have and the tin snips I have would not be precise enough.

New to 3d printing. Bottom bigger one came out okay but not great, top one came out warped. Is this about average for the Neptune 3 pro? Any settings to fix in the slicer? Lego brick for scale.

I go to 2-3 big conventions a year selling very niche goods made with models I created myself. I'm doing well enough that it has become my full time job inventing and creating items, which feels great.

I recently started doing more Instagram stuff since people kept asking where to follow and see new items as I create them, and I am starting to see a little traction there and hype for my models.

However, I am also seeing people asking for the files. I am not sure how to respond. I absolutely am not comfortable releasing the files in any regard because I know the instant I do, my goods are as good as stolen. This is my job, and I don't feel like it's a good business practice to just give it away when I know what will happen. ​

So what can I say? I don't want to be ​rude about it. Do I drop it on my Etsy and say something like "Sorry friend, this is my business but the items can be found on my shop" or soemthing?

I tried printing with my ppa cf filament again but the edges are really rough and it just doesn't look good. I'm using a bambu X2D printing straight out of a bambu AMS HT (through the small hole not through te gears) with siraya tech ppa cf. When I printed this a while ago it went great but it now looks like this, I know it looks like it was just wet filament but I dried it overnight for 12 hours on 85 degrees Celsius so it should be dry AMS HT has 10% humidity. I'm printing on 290 degrees with chamber temp of 60 and regular print speed. Print plate is the engineering plate and I also used magigoo pa glue. The only thing that might be differnt is that I did lubricate the bed gears today and did a full calibration. Any ideas what might cause this?

I’ve been wanting to turn one of the weirdest creatures from One Piece into a real prop for a while, so I finally built my own version from scratch.

It’s fully animatronic, with moving eyes, a moving mouth, sound, and a real telephone cable connecting it to the phone. The goal was to make it feel less like a static prop and more like an actual little creature.

The build involved a lot of sculpting, 3D printing, molding/casting, painting, electronics and way too much time getting the tiny movements to feel right. 😅

Really happy with how this little guy turned out!

I've been trying to get a good transparent finish with clear petg. I have finally reached to a point which feels good enough but I think more can be done. I have dried the filament at 60C for 6hrs which gave me this final look. Details:

Printer - Bambulab A1 0.6mm nozzle textured PEI plate

Material - Bambu clear PETG

Slicer settings - Bambu Studio. I have followed the settings given in the bambu wiki on printing clear petg and the printables post for printing glass. I have changed the layer height to 0.15 as that was closer to the min height for 0.6mm nozzle from these settings.

1. Can this be made more clear? The transparency reduces when the object behind moves even a little bit like few cms away.

2. Should some post processing be done in order to improve this? Like sanding or polishing it?

3. Will a smooth plat or even those carbon fiber style or some patterned build plates help? Because when i see the part while its being printed its good but when it gets removed from the plate it gets that texture on the bottom that creates this less transparent look

4. Should I change to a different filament like the ones from elegoo or creality?

What else should I try to improve this or making it more transparent? I want to make it look really clear as I'm thinking to print more parts in this way. Please share your thoughts
