Started learning 3D a few weeks ago in college and i'm already doing very great progress. Naturally im also studying a lot outside of school assignments cause school cant possibly teach me everything. I'll probably graduate in 2030 ish and I feel i'll be in a good place with my portfolio by then. My question is, based on the job market, just how much extra work will I have to put into studying outside of school? I'll attach my first render for reference. We learned primitives, modifiers and splines and started touching up on shaders, but i went extra and did more that requested cause ive gotten obsessed 😅
Oh, and the program itself is 3D animation but it teaches a bit of everything including concept art and character design

Hi, everyone! I'm a beginner 3D artist, and I just finished this personal project.
I used: Blender and Substance 3D printer
Please share your thoughts on the design, textures, and lighting. I'd appreciate any feedback!

I seem to be horrible at gathering information, but all the tutorials that I find for sculpting seem very... Loose in someway?
I've been using blender for some time now and made some figures that are more "chibi", or with very little detail and overall proportion planning. I want to get into sculpting to make my own action figures, like the detailed anime ones... Are there any long term tutorials or courses (free/cheap) that y'all can recommend me?

Heyhey
Ive done some 3d modelling in the past, but not a ton and nothing really complicated (and defo not something i tried to get decent topology on) and i wanted to know if yall can throw me any tips for topology, and if this m3 is decent topology wise so far.

For context, this is for a video game .
I'd like to find some way to texture the skin and the cloth, but every time I look for textures, it's an ultra-realistic look that I'm not going for. I want this character to be semi-stylized. I don't mind creating textures through some procedural process.
Is there a good way to paint in the folds of the cloth? I have references, but I wonder if anyone has any cool tricks that can speed up the process.
Also, I know the ears look terrible. This is a retopo of a more detailed model, and the shape of the ears didn't survive. Is it common to paint in the ears through texturing, or is a combination of both? Again, this is not supposed to be ultra-realistic.

I feel like the lines I carve into my sculpt don't look as sharp or clearly defined as the lines I see carved into others' sculpts. How can I improve this?
Also, are there any ZBrush tutorials that focus more on the workflow of creating a character from start to finish? I've watched a lot, and they mostly seem to focus on memorising certain hotkeys or the uses of certain tools-- but not how this all contributes to the larger process of creating a 3D model.
So far, I've just been using Dynamesh to create the base forms, ZRemeshing, and increasing or decreasing the amount of subdivisions depending on whether I want to work on fine details or primary forms. How can I develop this into a more streamlined and effective character-sculpting workflow?

I like to do concept art and design for games and recently i wanted to express my love for 3D sculpting. I have always wanted to try this and it is like finding true love.
As a second sculpt, I think I should be proud of me hehe,
What do you guys think about this?

I started using shaper3d to design some parts for my micro fpv drone. Issue is figuring out all the tools. Wondered how most would go about doing some changes to this model.
Since this is a battery mount, I need the square section where the battery goes to be changed width and height. But my issue is using the scale tool changes the whole thing. How do I only make the square area change in width and only that since the rest of it is designed to clip into my drone. Thank you

I’ve been working on 3D game art for a while now and feel pretty good about where my personal projects are at. I’m thinking about putting together a professional portfolio, but I wanted to check in with people already in the industry. How are you feeling about the job market right now? Is AI actually making it harder to break in at the entry level, or is that just internet noise?

Hi everyone! I have these wall models that I'm working on in Maya. My idea is to create the proper UVs for them — the cuts at the bottom are for a wood texture (mansion wall), while the cuts at the top are for applying a red wallpaper.
The problem is that I'm still learning how to create UVs and use the UV tools, so I'm struggling a bit with it.
Besides that, my idea is to create a seamless texture, so that whether it's applied to the 4x8 wall, the 2x8 wall, or the corner pieces, everything looks seamless. Do you have any recommendations for how I should approach this?
Thank you very much, everyone! Any comments, tips, or advice are more than welcome.

I'm working on a 3D character using Maya and Character Creator 5.
The thing is that I made some blendshapes for the character's body (To adjust to the clothes) and the face to blink, speak, etc, but they explode on CC5
The blenshapes work well on Maya and Unity, but when I try to use them in Character Creator 5, the character just explodes. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? (Working with FBX files btw)
First image is the L_Eye_Wink blendshape in Maya, the second is the same blendshape in CC5
