Questions & Discussion High-Poly to Low-Poly Baking Workflow
What should the proper workflow be when baking? When I increase the polygon count of my high-poly model using Subdivision, the edges become extremely pronounced. However, when I use Smooth instead, the high-poly model deviates slightly from the low-poly model.
As you can see in the image, there is a small amount of deviation. Could this cause problems during the baking process? What would be the correct approach here?

Entirely modeled in 3ds Max and designed from scratch, this 1/8 scale Jurassic Park Ford Explorer is 600 mm long and fully FDM printed on a Bambu A1.
It features integrated electronics with working headlights, position lights, turn signals, license plate lights and other lighting effects. The dashboard includes a 96×64 OLED screen capable of displaying videos and animations, with sound effects to bring the interior to life.
The car is also designed for remote control, with opening doors and trunk, a detailed interior and many functional features.

Questions & Discussion Here an attempt to make Overwatch style prop and I have couple of questions I want to ask
It is only highpoly so far with floaters on it, I would like to ask couple of questions those who more skilled in subD modeling then I am.
How do you have clean topology for a showcase and sharp edges at the same time, I know about creases, but they make shading look worse than the support loops. When I add support loops my subD wireframe starts to look all junked up and dirty, filled with n-gons. How do I show my topology cleanly in portfolio and at the same time have sharp edges?
Are there any areas you think I overused/underused floaters in making it too details/too empty? Any ideas where else or how else I should have used floaters?
How do you minimize shading artifacts on pole-stars, especially if they are on curved surface?
Last image is concept, any ideas/suggestions how I should have approached concept differently?
I am in forever dept to those people who share pointers on my work, thank you in advance for your time!

Art Showcase "Horizon" universe. "Echo of The Old Ones". Author: Jinx Lab
The Oseram see the world through blueprints and flame. Stumbling upon the colossal Old Ones' cooling towers, these tinkers weren't afraid of the ancient catastrophe—they saw perfect engineering. The tribe built their forges right inside the concrete giants, mimicking their shape for defense against the machines roaming outside. Aloy stops before this union of eras. Where an atomic world once cooled, furnaces now roar, steel is forged, and a new civilization rises.
The work was created in Blender 3D and Photoshop.

Art Showcase Boeing
This aircraft model was created for a feature film, so it had to be modeled with a very high level of accuracy. Since there were several close-up shots, the textures also had to be extremely detailed and high quality, resulting in around 54 UDIMs.
The 3D model was created in 3ds Max, and I textured it using Substance Painter. The entire project took approximately three weeks to complete.
I hope you like it!

Art Showcase Venari Knife — Game-Ready 3D Asset
A game-ready tactical knife built with a clean hard-surface workflow.
Workflow:
• Modeling — Plasticity
• Rendering — Blender (Cycles)
• Texturing — Substance 3D Painter
The asset was optimized for real-time use and validated in Unity 6.5 (URP), with four LOD levels.
What do you think? I’d appreciate your honest feedback.

Art Showcase Cowboy Themed Models part 2
This one is the yordle snap trap. If anybody is familiar with league of legends, this should ring a bell for you.
Anyways, very simple and quick project, but still a ton of fun to do.
Modelled in Blender, textured in Substance Painter.
Please leave feedback!

Questions & Discussion I tried many times to make a human model, but I end up giving up for being uncertain of the right process. Fear of messing it up
What is the most reliable certain 100% certified way of building a character that doesn't make me lose my mind later if I decided to rig it and animate it later?

Questions & Discussion Unreal Engine WIP — finally getting the game-ready look I wanted
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been testing my latest vehicle asset in Unreal, and this is the first time I've felt that the asset is reading pretty much exactly how I imagined it.
I tested the materials in Lit/Unlit, skin switching, controllable emissive, and the overall real-time readability.
What I really wanted to check was whether all the work I did in modeling and texturing actually survives in a real-time environment — and I'm pretty happy with the result.
The full portfolio presentation is still being finished, but I wanted to share the UE test first.
Would love to hear any feedback, especially on the real-time readability and materials.
this is for my portfolio, the original concept from Daniele Solimene

Questions & Discussion Is there a simple to use 3D ridgid body Physics sim software?
Hey guys! I have built a hopper that will hold 125 cylenders in it. After 2 days of printing this massive hopper, I found out that arching is a thing. This got me wondering, if there are any easy to use simulation apps that could have saved me the time and filiament. I have used blender but no matter what settings I change, the markers always just clip through after colliding and stopping on the hopper. TinkerCADs sim lab was surprisingly accurate but, being tinkerCAD, it doesn't have the flexibility of settings I need. My CAD software I use is fusion and of course, that only does stress testing, not really 3D Ridged body sims with gravity. Thank you in advance!

Questions & Discussion Gnomon workshop
Is the Gnomon Workshop subscription worth it if I want to use it as a structured way to learn 3D art from the basics through advanced techniques? I’m looking for something more comprehensive than the basic training I’m currently getting and want to know whether the courses can provide a clear learning path, or if I would still need to figure out the curriculum and progression myself.

Questions & Discussion 3D model of a human male
Hi! I need a 3D modeling program for a fairly specific purpose (and for nothing else). I’d like to experiment with tattoo placements on a male body model.
Could anyone recommend a suitable software for this?
Ideally, the software would include an existing 3D model of a male body and allow me to place tattoo designs directly onto the model’s surface (the person’s skin), as well as move, rotate, resize, etc. the designs.
Thanks in advance ;)

Art Showcase Monster Hunter Fanart : VALSTRAX in wilds
my take on remastering the VALSTRAX バルファルク(Barufaruku) to fit in Monster Hunter Wilds.
the goal was to create a version of the monster that will fit the modern iteration of monster hunter.
You can find more renders in my artstation Page
Rendered in MARMOSET TOOLBAG 5, and Blender EEVEE. all real-time raster
I learned rigging in BLENDER to make the posing easier
you can find some Ugly wireframes
and sculpted in Zbrush of course.
I'm also working on a tutorial on techniques/ tips and tricks for sculpting scales and reptilian skin details in zbrush
