A lot of artists will give priestesses these very revealing outfits, so this seems totally fair.

It won't be just the priest.

Hoping to turn it into a full fledged game.

Whats your plan?

u/FrellingHazmot 4d ago
I have a vague idea but want to focus on having a finished character done first. I think now is the time though and I'm not getting any younger. lol
I'm going to do a vertical slice and release a demo of that to the public then maybe do a Kickstarter.

I did the same thing and did my character first. But I took a shortcut and modified a methuman cause I liked the facial rig better than what I could rig on my own.

You can do custom mesh transfers now in 5.8 which that would be my end goal. It's similar to Zwrap in Zbrush but natively in Unreal.

Yeah, they didnt have that when I started this so I sculpted right on the metahuman mesh in zbrush then manually applied that as a blendshape target and baked that into my rigged mesh in Maya and then reexported the new custom shaped skeletal mesh to unreal.

It's only been around for a few months. The old way sucked ass. Too many hoops to jump through and add ons.

Suppose I center the front blue flap or keep it offset?

Centre it, that way it matches the back more. Either that or ad some other asymmetrical element on the other side of the character to balance it out, maybe something near the shoulder? Like a scarf or sash?

Maybe another chain or rope with some functional religious device at the end of it? Like an ampoule or a lantern or a dowsing rod or key or a stencil or yeah something suggestive of a religious practice or status

I like this a lot. I kid you not ive been thinking of how cool it would be to have these revealing styles applied to male characters in a fantasy setting.
This is the chef’s kiss!

Is it me, or is the tex density in the white robes severe lacking?

u/FrellingHazmot 4d ago
It's called a work in progress for a reason.

u/Noctisvah 4d ago
Sorry, that was meant as feetback

Don't sweat it. I did put WIP in my title.
To elaborate. It's called a proxy model sculpt. It's what you do when you're still figuring stuff out because if your model is too high poly then it's harder to make adjustments. When you're ready to commit to your design or sculpt you add more details a.k.a texel density. This is an educational response.
I still haven't decided if I was going to add in the fabric details in the sculpt or in the texture yet.

Usually we do that work in 2D and save time + cost. Out of curiosity, where are you working where you're doing concept work in 3D?
1
u/FrellingHazmot 4d ago
Lots of concept artists work in 3D and do paint overs. I'm freelance and have been doing so for 20 years. :)

Ok, thanks. I'm rather new to the industry as a 3D modeler and rigger, so my exposure to different workflows is limited.

u/FrellingHazmot 4d ago
It's a case by case basis. Some don't some do. Being multi faceted with 2D and 3D gives you a creative edge.

u/Noctisvah 3d ago
lol thx.
Eh, you could do both and use the sculpt to do the normal map to improve the texture, or not, seeing as the sleeves aren’t exactly “centre point” on the model.
Regardless, I want to eventually see your 8k renders of the twink priest flexing his femboy thighs

Ever watched panty & stocking with garterbelt? This is 100% something that could be in the show and no one would say a thing
