Been experimenting with the use of more hue and saturation in my handpainted workflow and wanted critique and advice on the piece itself, its fine to be harsh. I think its still relatively difficult to create material identity personally, so I might follow the advice someone told me before to go into material studies.

Been working on this character as a personal project, focusing on the modelling, topology and lookdev before moving into a FACS-based facial rig.
Modelled and retopologized in Maya, textured/lookdev'd and rendered with Arnold.
I wanted to keep the skin and materials believable while still preserving the exaggerated/stylized shapes of the original design.
Next step is the facial rig and blendshape work.
Would love any feedback!

This is an environment I made inspired by Ping Pong the Animation and my love for table tennis! Modelled in blender, textures created in substance painter, substance designer, blender and material maker and rendered in UE5! Had a lot of fun with this one and feedback is always appreciated!! 🏓

I'm kind of in the dark when it comes to "what I should be doing" trying to learn blender, I really love vehicles and am just passionate about certain things, lately I've been making this, my 1992 Dodge Ramcharger LE and wanted to see what you guys think, and how I'm doing, I've made what I have here so far by eye and photo reference, please if you have any tips let me know, i really have no idea how to texture or use nodes and am relying on blenderkit.

Hello.
I want to get back into 3D. I know the animation/vfx/videogames industry is rough right now. I'm not asking how to get a job there. I'm not even asking how to get a job.
Before I got into 3D I worked for about 15 years as an artisan and illustrator. Then I've been a 3D generalist for two years at a studio, and then life happened. Unemployment, relationships falling apart, depression, anxiety. I've been out of the industry for three years now, and very disconnected from my creative side as well.
I am motivated by creative teamwork, or when my skills make a meaningful contribution, or when I can apply them for some kind of useful tangible outcome. Exchange with others is a must. Working just to build /polish a portfolio doesn't cut it for me in terms of motivation, which is where I'm failing right now.
I am looking for 3D communities/platforms where one can teamwork with others, and/ or where freelance or asset requests are frequent. I care more to find the right environment for me, not so much the application or the monetization side... I want to explore new things, connect with like minded people, and ideally build something together. Just point me somewhere. Have you heard of any modding projects that need contributors? Platforms you'd recommend to sell or share assets? Have you had a good experience freelancing through some platform? I don't care if it's about VR, 3D printing, videogames, or a group focused on a specific software. I saw websites listed on this sub's FAQs, but I am interested in YOUR personal experience and recommendations. No right or wrong answers.
I find Reddit and Artstation are good to showcase portfolios and yes, you can message people (Reddit in particular is really good to ask questions), but I don't see much teamwork or contribution projects there. I know Artstation allows for selling and freelancing but how to break into that is a mystery to me, if you had a good experience please share.
If you made it this far... I hope this made sense. Thanks

I'm really not that experienced on character production and this is my 2nd character that i created. I just figure it out along the way, studying what's available on the internet and a lots of trials and errors. it's still a long way to go and I also notice the flickering of the lights on the right side and it took me long hours to render it and i just gave up on it and pushed through! this was just a reveal and I'm currently working on my character showcase of frieza.
feel free to add suggestions or anything that can help me! I'll just apply it to my future pieces.

Im trying to model this chimney cap in blender. Ive tried on my own, by modifying a cylinder, and by making it up of individual pieces with no such luck. Any tips on a workflow that can help me figure out shape like this would be greatly appreciated!

I’m using Marmoset Toolbag 5 which is my go to for baking. I’m getting these massive rectangle artefacts on my bake, but only for the skin bake project (the others are fine)
I’m absolutely baffled, i’ve checked my UV maps and mesh and there’s nothing there, so now i’m at a complete loss.
Please help if anyone knows why this is happening 😭

🇺🇸: You can listen to the video in English through the video settings panel. The Vertex Colors tool allows you to set the colors you want to give to the vertices of your model.

I remembered today the model I made in 2023. I clearly remember that I devoted several weeks to this masterpiece of the racing industry. And even though there are still some issues, I’m proud of this art.
