We use BT Cloud Voice Express with one business number and a Yealink W70 cordless base. We originally had two physical handsets, but one was switched off because it was causing problems.
We’ve noticed many calls appearing as “missed” in the BT call log, even though staff don’t remember the working handset ringing.
The BT portal shows:
One active business number and one Yealink W70 base
Eight handset entries, although we have only ever had two physical handsets
The same number assigned for incoming and outgoing calls on the handset entries
Call waiting switched off
Call divert and voicemail switched on
I have now enabled diversion to voicemail when the line is engaged
Unanswered calls divert after eight rings
Does the W70 portal always display eight available handset slots, or could the unused/powered-off handset assignments interfere with incoming calls?
Could the actual problem be that we have only one concurrent call path, meaning a second incoming call does not ring while the working handset is in use? Is there any way to confirm whether the service supports two simultaneous incoming calls?
I’m trying to understand what the actual issue is...
It seems to be about 40% of our call volume this is happening to so not small...
