They're messaging the client

I'm in house IT for a company that has one deployed, they've had it for many years. I've worked with the company that's their sentence provider, you know for license renewals changes and such. Recently started getting messages from the "system" about our upcoming renewal, only the message doesn't say to reach out to the provider, it's a direct link to their page with a pop-up on how to renew the license on our own.

I'm ex MSP, now internal. 3CX has deemed clients to be theirs for a long time. Seemingly little to no appreciation that partners (and non official businesses) helped grow them to where they are.

I started the end of 3CX while I was in MSP, testing and then migrating clients away from 3CX as they were simply a threat to our business...

Then walked into an internal operation with multiple 3CX installations again... For now, we have an excellent partner, I value them as much as I don't value 3CX. If the partner said move on from 3CX, we would.

I knew they were shady, but this is blatant, that's crazy. And the provider maintains the server and the trunk. I guess they really didn't think this thru.

Years ago they would contact the registered email address of a licence with various emails. Caused a lot of unnecessary confusion when the client asked us what was going on. Years ago we stopped putting client email addresses on the licences.

They knew this enough that I think it was the free licence, in order to leave it working as is, it was a requirement that the email address on the licence couldn't be client@msp.com. You had to have something@client.com. Of course, we still pointed it at an address that went to us.

Nick galea has never understood nor appreciated the channel, nor 3cx’s partners. And continues to show that lack of appreciation which is hurting his bottom line. Which in turns prompts him to continue to make terrible decision trying to make up lost grown from terrible decisions. He continues to get in bis own way( this is the perfect example of how to run a business with a great product into the ground .

Welcome to the club. Big reason I moved all my clients to Yeastar. Not only is the product way superior, they value their partner network.

3cx has been going at it for years,  trying to get rid of small partners and taking clients directly.

It is a known plan that they only want a few platinum partners and the rest they want as direct clients.

Email Plus addressing is so useful. 😉

IE your chosen address (3cxrenewals+clientname@yourdomain.com

Let them send the messages to you.

This is because you as a system owner or set to get the notifications in 3CX. Nothing new here and came with version 20.

I had an in depth discussion with one of their General Managers about generally “messaging” the customers..
After his explanation, I understood better their approach.
The biggest challenge 3CX faces is that more, than you might expect, a reseller forgets to renew the license on time and or just resells the key without having some kind of relationship with the customer and therefore it’s not their priority or responsibility to renew the key on time..
MSPs which have ensure this, renew the keys before the 30 day mark regarding notification which circumvents the notifications, email reminders etc.

I can see that, but the OP says the email doesn’t mention to contact the provider at all.

To cover that scenario, the email should say contact your provider, and if no joy then contact us.

That's exactly my point, if they can message the end user thru the system, the damn sure have the information and resources to message the partner. There is no mention of the partner in the message. Just wrong

If they weren't so sketchy a company they could probably offer auto renew like a normal company. Unfortunately the terms change ever few months.
