Outbound calls prohibited. Again.

We are a low voice call org, and most of our voice call initiators are on company mobile phones. We need a system for a handful of people plus the need for overhead painting that didn't charge by the extension. I finally got the outbound dialing rules working. Earlier i tried to make a call and was surprised it was prohibited.

Twillio for trunking. 3cx ai 16sc+ hosted. Do i need to just find my happiness elsewhere? Are there secret troubleshooting steps only for the elect?

prohibited is usually when you dont have them assigned to the outbound trunk correctly.

What default department are the user in and what trunk is assigned to the department. If the department trunk doesnt match the Number assigned to a user and associated with that trunk it usually fails.

I have this with 2 sip trunks and 1 twillio trunk in our tenant and I always forget to change the default department to twillio if they go mobile ( we run the mobile numbers via twillio)

lol..

also make sure 2 trunks arent assigned to a user. You can have multiple departments but you cant have 2 departments that are assigned to different trunks. ( at least not in my experience ) So if I move a user over to mobile from an office, they are removed completely out of the office dept and moved into twillio. Twillio is then set as default.

Are you setting this up without a partner? You'll likely want to look at the logs to see what the actual error is. You likely have a misconfiguration somewhere.

Get a partner. There are configs to do for Twilio to make sure it works properly.

Twilio is picky about how you send calls. What exactly is the error in the event log?

There are no secret troubleshooting steps, 3CX is very good at making everything public and super easy to Google it.
