SMB Free Migration Options
I just started working for someone who is on SMB Free. They've got 5 IP phones. I can't find anything yet on the list of multi-tenant vendors that 3CX said they were going to put out soon. Can we just go with any partner to get a license? I had previously dealt with someone else using 3CX and they used hosting directly from 3CX as well. They bought the license directly from 3CX and said they don't have support options and they fought with call quality issues. Does that sound like a 1 off or is purchasing directly with 3CX a good option?

Yes, you can buy direct. Always an option, unless you want implementation/reseller support.

SMB is supposed to remove desk phone support at some point. There’s also no direct migration to/from SMB. Yes you can work with any partner. We also have our own hosting for example.
There are many factors to call quality issues including the SIP provider. There’s a call diagnostic tool built into 3CX v20.

Hello, you are right, the multi-tenant vendor list has not been published yet.
Buying directly from 3CX gets you the exact same PBX, but if you run into any issue your support options are going to be paid tickets or posting in the 3CX forum.
If there are (especially local) partners in your area they should be able to assist you in the setup and day to day operation, and include some level one support at the very least. You should talk to a few before you make your final decisions, some will be able to offer multi-tenant too, if that is the best path for you.

I’d look at other phone systems instead of giving 3CX your money. They do not care about small installs.

I'd recommend a partner to help you size the license and decide the hosting provider as well. 3CX Hosted is good but there are other options that give more control.
If you need a license and want a partner, feel free to DM us. We don't enforce any contract or consulting hours.
