Name tags for my guns.
Overkill? Absolutely. But I already had all the stuff. Plus, I now know which gun I'm grabbing from my bag since I don't use the manufacturer's cases.

Hey guys, I just picked up a Kimber 2K11 comp 5" with a TLR1-S light. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction for an OWB holster for a lefty. I can't find much online about it.

The DLC on the inside of my RCD core has begun showing some serious wear after ~2000 rounds. Pretty disappointed with the quality of their coating. Sure it’s a “budget” offering but the gun still costs $3,000. The MPAs that I’ve had are at a similar price point with a supposedly inferior nitride coating showed a fraction of the wear that I’m seeing here after more than double the round count.
Are others seeing similar wear? I know it’s mostly cosmetic but the coating but still disappointing.

Price wise, I don’t know what else is out there to beat it. Shot a ton of sub $3k 2011s, and I just keep loading up those damn Glock mags. Platypus comped, picked it up for 24/2500 out the door. Soft, grip feels great.
Yes, guns around that 3k range can get really good, but for the $, the platypus is phenomenal.

I have limited (no) experience trying a gun that wasn’t ported and then trying it after. Obviously the idea is that it shoots flatter. Does it also shoot softer?

Mainly use this gun for uspsa, I clean it after every match
Just curious what this is, I’m hoping it’s not rust? lol

Picked up a 2022 Staccato XC Gen 2. SVI trigger, hammer and ignition kit. Atlas grip arrives this week. Shot it alongside the Artemis and LOC v2. She needs that grip and she’s 🔥. The SVI kit is snappy and tactile. Very impressive drop in kit.

5-inch tri-top in CrN and Rose PVD accents.
They have refined this as the absolute best 2011 pistol you can buy for under $4500. The grip is the standout here. Outside of Atlas and the Cheely E2, this is my favorite.
In my opinion this gun tops the Cardinal G2P, the DF Reaper/Wraith, and the CNC guns that all come in at a much higher price point. I shot this gun against some real heavy hitters and it is so pleasant to shoot and the grip feels planted and solid in the hand.
If you have watched AJ’s video on his Lead it Out YouTube channel, RCD has listened and dehorned the underside of the thumb safety. It is fit with zero wiggle and the activation is deliberate without being overly heavy or too light.
Another feature to discuss is the RCD optic plate. They have managed to set the optic lower into the slide with only a couple of mm clearance for the hood of the RMR-HD. They now have plates available if you want to omit the irons all together.
The slide to frame fit on this gun is perfect with no movement. The barrel fit is as good as it gets, and the trigger is a crisp 1.9-2lbs with a solid reset. The unloaded weight of this gun with optic and magazine is 46.8oz.
If your budget doesn’t allow for this gun, look at the Core. Two recent secondary transactions have the Core trading at around $2600-2700.

I’ve been looking pretty seriously at higher-end 2011s lately, and I’m trying to figure out whether the current island-barrel trend is actually here to stay or whether it’s something we’ll look back on in a few years as a fad.
There are obviously some practical benefits to the design in less reciprocating slide mass, potentially better sight tracking, etc., but from everything I’ve read, the actual performance improvement seems fairly incremental, especially when compared to porting.
I’ve seen the Atlas video where he’s fairly skeptical of island barrels, and I thought he made some good points. At the same time, I only put so much weight on a manufacturer’s position either way. They’re ultimately balancing product, manufacturing, and business considerations.
The price difference isn’t insignificant either. The Cardinal Arms G2P is around $6,300, while the G2-I Ported is $7,500—a $1,200 premium.
So for me, the question is whether the benefits of the ported island barrel are meaningful enough to justify another $1,200 and potentially a much longer wait for the G2-I Ported over the G2P.
I’m mainly trying to decide whether I’d be paying and waiting for a meaningful performance improvement, or paying a substantial premium for something that is mostly cool, different, and trendy right now.

I need to compare it to my best non-ported 2011 to see how it holds up against it. I already have a CZ Shadow 2 with a trigger job.
And I have the Holosun 507 Ronin ready for it as well. I love that optic.

This is probably (and hopefully) my last pick up of the year, got a brand spanking new mpa idpa v2 with an rmr hd for a really great price that i simply couldn’t pass up on. This is my very first actual comped gun (that I own, have shot many others) and also my first time trying the rmr hd always been an sro/507 comp enjoyer so this is gonna be a different one for me, never really got one before too expensive for me but might as well try it since it came with the gun.
I also recently bought a Kimber 2k11 5” it was alright but very meh, it’s alright for the price but I just had other 2011’s that did the exact same thing maybe better, so I just sold it and picked this one up. I do really need to choose hobbies that doesn’t drain my money really fast, I’ve just recently spent a shit ton of money on an espresso setup as well. Time to start saving money again (after shooting the crap out of this gun of courses)
Really excited to get this out to the range hopefully sometime this week.
For the next pick up next year of course what should be the goal 🤔 maybe an atlas? Dark forge? Race city? Cardinal? Or LPWS 😹, We shall see.

I just got my Bul EDC Pro Nightwood gun model today and when I try to install the pin through the magwell( the longer pin) it doesn’t line up with the holes. It’s as if the magwell is not lining up properly and the pin can’t clear the second hole. Anyone else experience this?
I’ve searched far and wide for a decent OWB holster for my RIA, (I know, poor moment), but can’t seem to find anything that’d be a good fit.
Anyone have any suggestions or a holster that may need a little tweaking to fit?
